Chapter 16 – Awake and Screaming

1050 Words
Madison’s eyes opening, pain surfaced across her body as silver burnt into her wrist and ankles. His dark figure standing over the bed watching her, Madison felt fear rippling through her body faster than her blood could pump. Quick shallow breaths causing her chest to rapidly rise and fall she struggled to take in enough oxygen. A chill moving through her, Malcom’s head dropped lower illuminating his face. Madison’s whole body trembling, a smile washed across Malcom’s face as his hand extended toward her cheek caressing it softly. “Hello Cupcake, I hope you have been dreaming of me.” Turning her head trying to remove her face from his cold hands, Madison’s wrists pulled tightly in the shackles burning and cutting deeper into her flesh. The chains clinking with every slight tilt in her wrists, she had nowhere to go, no way to escape. Malcom’s brown eyes locking to her own, his hand gripped her chin pulling her face back to the centre of the pillow looking him square in the face. Her eyesight slightly blurring, she knew it was from the blood loss. This was the second time she was coming to, and this was only the beginning. By the end she always lost count, which meant there was a long way to go. Malcom’s face dipping lower still, his thin cold lips meshed with her own as his blood covered tongue swept through her mouth. The metallic taste and scent engulfing her senses, Madison’s stomach twisted painfully with disgust as she was unable to stop him or pull away. Unwilling to bite at him, she knew her pain would only increase tenfold. The scar under his eye a constant reminder of the mistake she made and torture she endured. Speaking into his lips, Malcom pulled slightly back allowing on of his hands to draped atop Madison’s shoulder. Her voice muffled, this time with his lips off hers and now colliding with the centre of her chest, she spoke again. “Malcom… please.” Madison’s body still trembling, Malcom’s lips only pulled wider as he placed his face inches from hers. “WHO? What did you call me?” A sharp whine flowing from Madison, she voice flew out. “Master! Please Mast…er.” Satisfied with her reaction, Malcom appeared to let the mistake slide as he continued his line of questioning. “Please what Cupcake?” His cold hand on her shoulder squeezing hard enough to mark her skin, Malcom’s raised voice sent her cringing harder into the bed as the smell of burnt flesh sizzled through the air. “Please do more…?” Making his suggestion, his eyes brightened, burning bright red overcoming the brown and consuming his face with darkness as if he were a demon. His white teeth lengthening, Madison’s mind all but imploded as she tried to scream. Madison struggling, her screams filled the room as her eyes were squeezed closed. Her limbs somehow pulled free, she swung them around flailing trying to get off the bed. Warm hands wrapping around her body holding her in place, Maddison’s struggles were in vain as she was overpowered. Pulled and held to a broad warm chest, a deep raised voice sounded once more. “Madi stop! Shhhh… shhhh, it’s okay.” The voice not matching Malcom’s, Madison could not stop the fear from flowing as her eyes flew open revealing a completely different room then what she had just been in. The arms holding her in place loosening with her fading struggles, Madison stilled in the thick arms holding her upright. Bryon’s face close to the back of her head, his excitement that she was awake was now overshadowed by concern for what was happening. Sensing and smelling her intense fear, it was like every good thought, idea and hope he had drained from his body. Madison’s body slumping in his arms, she appeared unable to even hold herself up for a second longer. Byron providing more support, he brought her back to his chest holding her tightly. “Shhhh… it was just a dream Madi. You’re home, you’re finally home.” Trembling worse than she was before, Madison’s mind was so far behind, she could hardly catch up. Even though her mind had not been this clear for as long as she could remember. Her thoughts were completely muddle, random memories flooding her she could not place them in order. They were almost all clouded, and all consuming as she tried to recall where she was and how she got here. Uncomfortable and still racked with fear, Madison tried to pull away only for Byron to hold tighter to her not allowing her an inch of space between them. Her voice trembling as much as her body, her words almost desperate. “Let go. Please let go!” The feeling of rejection washing across Byron, Madison had not been awake for a full minute, yet she was already in this state and begging for release. Placing Madison down on the side of the hospital bed, Byron fell to his knees holding her hands in his looking up at her. Her eyes squeezing shut, his heart felt almost pained as he fought the urge to hold her close once more. “Madison it is okay, you just had a bad dream. You’re home now.” This time her heart ripping, her memory slightly cleared with one strong feeling. I know that voice. Blue eyes opening, Byron was looking up at her as he placed a kiss to her hands with saddened eyes. Lips vibrating wildly, she spoke a name that she had not in years. “..B…Byron?” Hot, cold, sad, excited, crying, laughing, Madison had no idea how to react or what to do. Falling forward intentionally, her arms locked around Bryon’s neck as his hands slipped around her with ease holding her tightly. Realisation hitting hard, tears leak down Madison’s cheeks as she whispered loudly to Byron in disbelief. “You found me.” Hey guys I hope you enjoy the chapter.
