I was at home when we heard the noise. My mom looked out of the window. She ran to me and grabbed me by my arm. We went out the back door. She looked at me sweetie, I love you and daddy loves you too. Don't ever forget that. There are bad people in this world. They are attacking the silver moon pack and you need to get away from here. She gives me a kiss on my forehead. Elisabeth run and don't look back. Please run far away from here and never come back. Don't look back and run. That's the last thing I heard from my mom. I looked back and what I saw was terrifying. Dead all around the pack. Our warriors were the best. But they were outnumbered. The attackers were brutal it was like they were chasing something. I saw their eyes red they were rogues. They sniffed out the air and that's the moment I ran for my life. I grew up happy in that pack. I had a wonderful childhood and I miss them so much. One day I will return to see what's left of the pack. If I can find any clues. If some survived the attack. "You worthless b***h clean this mess up, the alpha said to me. I nod at him "Jess alpha". I heard I giggle behind me. It was Danielle she liked when he yelled at me or punished me. I cleaned their mess up and left for the kitchen. It was gross I don't want to clean up after them when they had s*x. I began to make dinner and after that I cleaned everything up. I was laying in bed. I was exhausted from all the work I had done today. I was thinking about how I ended up here in this pack. The pack that I truly hate so much. *Flashback* After the rogues had attacked the silver moon pack. I ran miles away from there. After a few miles I looked back to see if I was followed. I climb a tree to wait and see. After a couple of hours I concluded that I wasn't followed and continued to run. I was trained to know what to do in these situations. Every few hours I rest or sleep in a tree or in a cave. I was very highly alert if I heard something, I climbed in a tree to hide. It saved my life more than I do know. I didn't want to fall in rouges hands then you will die a gruesome death. Usually they have some fun with you before they kill you. Around the packs I was very careful. I crossed pack borders without them seeing me. They couldn't smell my scent yet. Because I wasn't 13 so I was basically a human and had no wolf at this point. The little you could smell was hidden with a herbal mixture they had given me at silver moon pack. Every week we drink the herbal mixture to hide our scent. They said it's for our safety so no one finds us. If you miss a dose 3 or 4 days later it is worked out. I am afraid and don't know what to do. After three days of running and hiding I decided that I will join a pack and hide in there for now. I didn't know where I was and I didn't know if I was still in the same country. I decided there was enough distance between me and the pack that I was forced to leave. I was wandering in the forest when I heard footsteps closing in on me. I stopped because I couldn't run any more. I was beyond exhausted and hoped they were friendly and kind. I know I have crossed a pack border so I am not surprised they have noticed me. I have run enough, I just can't anymore. With the knowledge I have now I wish I had run away. After a few moments I saw a man approach me. He came step for step closer to me not to startle me. He came in his human form. He wears only shorts. He was very buff he look like he was in the gym every day. He has brown hair and is 6 feet two. His eyes had a green color with a mix of red specs in them. I saw two more soldiers in the distance. In a deep voice he said " who are you and where did you come from". "I..I.. I am Elisabeth," I said. He looks friendly but I don't know yet. I have to see how this conversation goes. "How old are you little girls and why are you all alone in this forest?" he said. " I am 12 and I am lost. I don't have a pack anymore" I answer. I didn't want these men to know where I came from. Maybe they confiscate the land and all the proof goes away before I can see it. I want to figure out what happened exactly. You see, the pack is very well hidden. So that nobody can find it easy so we are protected. If I am older and stronger I want to return back to my pack. To see if somebody survived the attack. More importantly to figure out who I am and to find out where they found me. The elders promised me that on my 18th birthday they would tell me the story of how they found me. The men in front of me coughed to get my attention again. " I am Jason and the two of them are Tom and Peter," Jason introduced them. " Hi, which pack are you from?" I ask. " This is a dark moon pack and I am the alpha of this pack. Do you want to rest in our packhouse? I promise you can go anytime you want. Just rest and eat you look tired and hungry" My stomach growls on point. We laughed a little and I nod in agreement. I can leave when I want so no harm in that. I was arguing with myself. We walk to the packhouse and go inside. I follow Jason in the kitchen. He made a plate with food for me to eat. I devour the food in no time then he shows me a guest room to rest in. " Through that door is the bathroom. After you have rest we will talk about what your plan is. Think about it I will come back to you in a couple of hours" then he leaves the room and I am alone. I think about staying here and I see no harm in that. The alpha is friendly and doesn't push me in telling my story. Why I was wandering alone in the forest. I think I will stay for a while in this pack. After a few hours alpha jason came back like he said. " And have you decided to stay or do you have some other plans?" he said. " I have decided to stay here if it's okay with you," I answered. "Of course you can stay but on one condition you will go to school. Next year there is a shifting ritueel for young wolves. After your first shift we will take you in the pack. Only if you want that is that a deal?". He looked at me for my answer. I say " Jes that is fine by me thank you alpha". He nodded and took me to meet the pack. The pack is very welcome towards me and that's nice. Maybe I can be happy here. A year later the shifting ritueel was held. Once a year for all young wolves to shift for the first time. All the children of the age of 13 can shift into their wolf form. So during that ritueel they all shift for the first time together. Wolves are social beings, they do most of the things together. A few weeks back I could feel my wolf surface. Her name is sterre. In the few weeks that she lives in my head we became best friends. I really don't know what to do without her. She is a sassy girl and my best friend. It is a full moon and a beautiful evening. The ceremony is held on a hill in the pack. It's a cold evening but I don't care. We werewolfs can withstand the cold. There is a bonfire going and all the pack members are there. We are called one by one to shift into our wolves. When I wait to shift for the first time, I hear Sterre in my head. Sorry sweetie but at the moment we're not going to shift. I do this to protect you. Just tell them that you don't feel me. I know you want to shift me to but it's for the better. It's for your own safety. I don't want people to use you. Please trust me I want you to be safe. I know you want to protect me because you and I are the same. If you say so I will do what you say and tell them that I don't feel you. I hope they will understand. No matter what, I am here for you. Because what you say you and I are the same. One more thing, I will hide my presence and our smell. So the alpha can't detect me. I will teach you how you can do it. Then we can control it, turn it off and on as we please. It was my turn to shift. I told the alpha that I don't feel my wolf just as sterre told me to do. The alpha became angry with me at first thinking I was joking. Then he sniffed at me and told the rest he can't feel my wolf or could smell my wolf. He declared me as an omega. I am a lantern, a wolf-less girl worthless for the pack. The alpha made that clear and the others too. That dreadful day. They never accepted me into the dark moon pack. To be bullied and abused that's my destiny here in this pack. Only a burden rather than an asset. It started slow. I had to do more in the kitchen. They added a few more chores to my list until I did all the work in the packhouse. I had to drop out of school to do all the work they didn't want to do. Over time they beated me up if I don't do the tasks right. If they want some amusement they vead me up also. They say it is for my own good. So I learn to cook properly and do the chores well, to their satisfaction. I was a slave at there disposal. I was beaten very frequently but never ended in the hospital. That they make sure of it. *End flashback* You will always have me, and I love you Lis, Sterre said in my head. She tries to comfort me. It always helps me. I am lucky that I have her. When we are eighteen we can go and escape. Nothing holds use here so we escape from this hellhole, her voice held promise in it. I laugh at her, you are right Sterre then we are free and go away far from here. I wondered all the time why she didn't want to shift that day. I got no answer or that she did it for my own protection. I feel very irritated, isolated and sad but I will survive for both of us. For them who gave their life for me. I am determined that I will survive this and when I am 18 I am out of here.We will go to the silver moon pack to look for answers. Then finally darkness takes me into a dreamless deep sleep.
