(Author’s Note: This chapter is written in a third person limited point of view. Basically, it’s from the narrator's POV, but they know how Emerald feels. Sorry if that is confusing, just try to enjoy the chapter.)
As the burning sensation continued to spread throughout her entire body, Emerald’s felt her whole spine c***k and her arms rearrange themselves. The fire followed and her fingers grew long and claws extended out. The same thing happened to her feet. She began to grow bigger and bigger causing her clothing to turn to shreds. Her hair grew longer and started to cover her entire body in a layer of thick fur. Emerald let out one last scream of pain before she let it consume her. After a minute all of the pain goes away and she can finally let out a sigh of relief. She breathes in smelling the pine trees and leaves, she cautiously opens her eyes to see that her hands are now paws and covered in thick, pure white fur. Her feet are paws as well as she takes a few steps, turning in a circle. This is when Emerald notices the guy from earlier standing still only a few feet away. He doesn’t seem freaked out even though Emerald certainly was. Upon seeing him, she takes a few steps, afraid that he might try to hurt her. He puts his hands into the air to show that he isn’t here to hurt her.
“It’s okay,” He cooed calmly, “I’m not going to hurt you.” Emerald needs to get home and get to her grandma, hopefully she will know what to do. She looks around and notices that her jean jacket is laying on the ground next to her paw. Emerald goes in to gently pick it up in her mouth since all her clothes were ruined while she was shifting. The guy backs up to give her room to pick it up, still holding his hands in the air, as she listens to his heartbeat and breathing. Once Emerald got her jacket she hears someone coming and jerks her head to look behind the guy at the edge of the woods.
“Hey! Is anyone back there!” He shouts, Emerald quickly turns around and runs away scared that guy might come closer and see her. She runs fast, as fast as she could, her paws pound against the soft dirt on the ground. A few minutes later she stops, realizing that neither of the guys followed her. She looks around to try and figure out where she was when she notices a small creek. Emerald walks over to the clear water and looks at her reflection. At first she was surprised at her appearance then got used to it. She had large white ears that stuck up out of her head and a large dark colored nose. Her fur covered her face in a blanket of white and her mouth was slightly ajar. She opened it more to reveal her large fangs and tongue. Lastly she noticed her eyes and was shocked because her once hazel eyes were now replaced with large glowing orbs in the most strange color, emerald.

The rest was a blur, once Emerald heard something coming she took off. It felt like she was running for hours. At some point she looked behind her to see three other werewolves chasing her, but moments later they stopped and went back the other way. That is the last thing Emerald remembered before passing out in her grandmother's backyard and falling into a deep slumber.
