DAXTON
After we left the abode of the light witch, my mind has been going in circles. Getting in the car with the King and Queen made for nothing but silence considering the new information we had been told, leaving us all on edge. My wolf, Cyprix, has been making himself known more in the last day or so. He doesn't usually interact with me much since I've turned 21 and haven't found my mate. Most wolves find their mate after their 18th birthday, and I've spent the last three years left alone, no one to have by my side. I've always dreamed of the day I would meet my mate, unknowing that it would take this long. "Daxton, are you gonna be alright going home?" Moira asks me, and I nod my head at her. "I'll be fine. I can't say the same for Allen, though." I say, my words laced with venom, spitting out the name of the traitor who I'd thought was like another father to me. He will never be our father Cyprix says in my head, and I was caught off guard by his words as I haven't heard him even speak a full sentence to me in so long. "What makes you wanna come around all of a sudden? Seemed like you were getting used to taking a back seat over the last few years." I said to him, and he didn't reply right away. I've waited long enough to get my wish of tearing that low down beta's head off He says a few minutes later, and I agree with him wholeheartedly, except... "You've never mentioned a word to me, why? They were your parents too, so why did you let us suffer at the hands of the very person who took our life away?" I almost scream at him, but I hold back my anger. I didn't have a choice. Don't forget, we have a goddess to answer to. I couldn't reveal anything to you or I would have suffered her consequences. The Moon Goddess. Only popping up when it benefits her, she didn't care about me all these years leaving me with someone whom I was clueless about their true motives? huh. what a f*****g blessing, am I right?! "Well, if you need any help from us, just ask. We're only a call away. Jenny, Moira's assistant, will answer at any time of day or night and relay everything to us. We won't intrude on your personal matters unless we have permission and you expressing for us to do so. I know you want to take care of it, so we'll back off. For now." Sebastian chimes in, and I nod my head, grateful he's not going to try and take my chance of getting in the way of the revenge I desire. "About your girl, how come you didn't mention her before?" I question, and both of them immediately tense up at the mention of their daughter. "It's a long story, but we would be willing to tell it to you one day, as we don't have all of the specifics ourselves. The main thing here, is our baby was taken from us at 5 years old, and we haven't heard a word since. Until the witch, of course." Moira breathed out, and I can't help but feel bad for them. They've been suffering in silence too, and not one time have they mentioned their problems to me, they've only tried to help with my own family. We come to a stop in front of Blackstorm, my fists clenching to my sides on their own accord, preparing for the scene I'm about to make in front of my pack. "Daxton, do you want us to accompany you?" Sebastian asks, but I decline. "Nah, thank you though. This is something I need to see through on my own, besides, Axel will be here with me every step of the way. We'll call you tomorrow." I tell them, before shutting the door behind Axel and walking up to the entryway of my packhouse. I take a deep breath, before I push open the door, walking inside with Axel on my trail. Seems awful quiet Cyprix mentions, echoing my thoughts. "Where is everyone?" Axel wonders, already knowing what I'm thinking. Let's head out back, maybe they're still working on our projects." I say while walking towards the back door. Relieved by seeing everyone, we both walk out before heading up to the makeshift stage my father had built when he was Alpha here. "I need everyone's attention." I say into the mic after picking it off its stand. Everyone stops what they're doing, forming a crowd to watch as Im sure they're curious to this sudden confrontation. "Allen. I need you to come up here for a moment." I motion over for someone to find him and bring him up here. "He left a couple hours ago, Alpha." One of my warriors, Melvin, informs me. I'm furious at the news. He knows we've found out I hear Cyprix echo in the recess of my mind, and I know that's exactly why he left. He knew I would be coming for him. I tap the mic again to grab everyone's attention as they all start murmuring among themselves. "Listen up. Your former Alpha, Collin, was murdered. And not in the way you think. Rogues may have been the culprit, but they weren't the mastermind." I bellow, hearing everyones gasps and whispers. "We have a traitor among us, and they've been among us this whole time." As I'm going on with my words, everyone has their eyes pointed towards me, so quiet you could hear a pen drop. "Allen betrayed your Alpha and Luna." I reveal, and everyone starts shouting out questions at the news. "How? But he saved us all!" One of the members shouts, others yelling in agreement with him. "He saved his own ass. He's only after power. He is the one who orchestrated the murder of my mother and father. This bastard, had them both killed because they found out he was working with a dark witch, working against them. To take what was theirs." I speak out with malice. The shouts and murmurs continue, before I hear Axel shout at them all to shut their mouths and to stop gossiping. "This is a serious matter. I know he did it, will you defy your Alpha now?" I question them, and they all shake their heads in unison, croaking out their apologies. "Find him. Find him so he can get the punishment he deserves, and so no one will think it's okay to ever go against their Alpha again. I want you to gather our best trackers and warriors for the job and start right away. I have some things to take care of, so Axel will be accompanying you in my absence. Do. not. disappoint. me. Do you understand!" I boom with my Alpha voice, and they all nod their heads frantically. Axel looks at me with one eyebrow furrowed, he didn't know I would be leaving him with this task. But I needed to go alone, as I need him to keep an eye on things here to make sure Allen doesn't turn back up, or to inform me of any leads. "But why? You can't go alone Daxton, he could be anywhere! You don't know who else they've gathered to work with them. It could be dangerous." He pleads with me, and I don't want to hear any of it. "That's final, Axel." I say firmly, and he snarls at my resistance. "Yes Alpha. I'll get started right away. Be careful, and reach out if you run into any trouble." I nod my head at him before taking off, making a bee line for the clearing in the forest, ready to make my way to a certain someone. She has to have some insight to offer me, considering this was unexpected, or was it? With all she says she knows, I'm sure she knew this would happen, but why didn't she mention it when we had our visit? I'll just have to ask her myself when I arrive.
I dodge through the trees at lightning speed, needing to get there fast. Maybe she could help me catch Allen before he gets too far. I come to a stop at the wooden gate out front before dropping the clothes I had Cyprix carry in his mouth, and shift back to my human form after I'm dressed. I hear a loud bang out of nowhere, and then the ground starts shaking, almost knocking me on my ass. What was that? I run toward the door, and without even knocking I bust it open, ready to defend the woman who I'm not sure is able to defend herself, except I was in for a surprise at when I walked in. There's a woman tied to a chair, Alpha Christian standing beside her along with Laverne. What I hadn't expected, was the most ethereal woman I had ever come across standing beside them, and I'm not new to this game. She looks over to me, her eyes boring holes through my head. She quickly looks down before moving her eyes back in my direction. The moment I've been waiting for over three years, standing right before my eyes. I couldn't control the next word coming from my mouth, Cyprix jumping up and down in my head for the day he has condemned me for has finally came. Stunned and staring at the woman in front of me, barely containing my excitement I blurt out "Mate." Both of us staring into the other's eyes, I'm glued in my spot. Go to her, our mate is more delicious than I could have imagined Cyprix says as if he's in a daze. I put my right foot out in front of me, approaching the woman I have waited so long to meet. She covers her eyes, and runs in the other room, Alpha Christian rushing after her. Did I do something wrong? I wonder, but that couldn't be it considering I had only said one word to the woman. Laverne stops me in my tracks before I could walk any further. "Give her a second, boy. This wasn't exactly perfect timing." Laverne tells me, and I decide to take a step back and give her space. I hope she accepts me, I'd be devastated if not. "What's her name?" I ask Laverne. "Thats for her to tell you." She says nonchalantly, and I feel bitter at her response. She couldn't just tell me her name? "I told you that you'd meet your mate soon enough." She laughs, but this is no laughing matter. This could be life changing for the both of us. Alpha Christian walks back in the room, the woman following behind him. "She has had a lot going on, don't take offense. She's ready to meet you." Alpha Christian says, before she walks around him, coming over to stand directly in front of me. "Hi, I'm Karielle. What's your name?" She asks, reaching her hand out for a shake. Well that's not what I was expecting Cyprix huffs in my head. Whatever, horny wolf. "I'm Alpha Daxton of the Blackstorm pack. Nice to meet you, mate." I reply to her, and I see the light blush that creeped to her cheeks. "I never.. I didn't think I..-I would meet my mate so soon." She chuckles nervously, and I can't help but giggle at her cute shyness. I decide to bring her in for a hug, so I could take in her lovely scent of sweet pea, mixed in with the smell of freah rain. "Now that the formalities are out of the way, you two have a seat." Laverne approaches, waving us to go sit down. "I knew you were coming, Daxton. I told you, every one of you are connected. Now.. About that lowly Beta. He's gone, as you know." She goes on. "He knew you would find out, and he was prepared for the day you did." She finishes, and I scoff at her words. "I already have our best trackers and warriors out searching." I tell her and she huffs at my statement. "They won't find him, Alpha. Not with Dark Magic involved." she informs, and I can already feel my blood starting to boil over. I feel the touch of Karielle's hand on mine, calming me enough to hear the witch out. "One thing I can tell you is, Karielle is special, and you'll soon find out how special she is." Baffled at her words, I look over to Karielle, and she shrugs her shoulders at me. "I have no clue. I'm still working on finding out who I am." She tells me, and my heart drops. How heartbreaking is it to not know about yourself? I'll never leave her side now, maybe we can help eachother. Laverne continues"Only no one will know until the spell is broken."
