Kyle's P.O.V
Coming to this stupid summer camp was my father's idea of punishment. He knows I hate these things, especially if there are humans. They were boring, obstinate, self centered creatures. It's not that I hate them, it's just that I'd rather be away from them. Everytime we mingle, we have to pretend to be one of them. That's why I love studying at the pack's school. We study what we need to know to run the pack, we learn our own history, and most importantly, we don't need to hide ourselves. However, hiding is exactly what I'd need to do for as long as I'm here.
Fortunately for me, my father didn't send me alone. He sent me with two of my three best friends Oliver and Lucas, my future Beta and Gamma respectively, to come with me to help us "strengthen" our ties, which translated meant that he is punishing us three for getting wasted to celebrate the end of the school year. I admit it was my idea, but I'm thrilled I won't have to be alone, much to their dismay. Liam, my cousin and the one who will be running some of the pack's businesses when we graduate, was not with us that day, so he's not coming. the lucky bastard.
The place was very human, but it was spacious enough. There was an entrance, where we were supposed to register and get badges. After, there were cabins, bigs and small ones, with tag names written on them. There was the one with principal's office Written on it, another with nurse office, kitchen, and so on. The smaller ones were the dorms and were distributed around the complex. The tag on them just had a number and the number on your badge matched the one in your cabin. On the bright side, there was a lake and woods I could run into; however I had to do it in my human form, again because there were humans here, uhg!
"Hey man. You ok?" Asked me Lucas sensing my distress.
"No. How could I be? Have you seen where we're at?" I stated the obvious.
"Oh, c'mon K. Look on the bright side. There are lots of chicks here, man. We can enjoy the weeks ahead, or just die of boredom." Said Oliver instead.
"Of course YOU would say that." Oliver was a manwhore. He would go from girl to girl without remorse just because he believed that the mate bond was not for him and that he probably wouldn't have a mate of his own. I on the other side, couldn't wait to find my other half, the one the moon goddess destined to be my Luna. "You know what? I think I'll go check out the woods." I stated.
"Want us to come with?" Asked Lucas.
"Nah. I could use the time to chill a little. I'm still pissed at my dad and I don't want to take it on you guys." I answered truthfully.
"Sure. No problem man." Said Lucas.
"Your loss K." Said Oliver at the same time.
"Yeah, whatever. See ya." Today was not my day.
My wolf, Kai was not happy either. He would have to stay in for the next six weeks while I'm out being human. The woods had a calming effect though. There was so much peace and quiet I found myself closing my eyes and just enjoying the wind on my face and the sounds the woods hugged me with. The best part of all it's that there were no humans this deep into the woods, so I could enjoy myself for a little while longer.
Suddenly, my wolf started pacing inside of me. And a very particular scent filled my nose making me look up.
"Dude! Do you smell that? It smells like cake!" Said Kai impatiently.
"I do smell that Kai, but I think it's vanilla, not cake." I stated matter of fact.
"Whatever man! The scent is so faint I can barely sense it though. Let's go! I don't want to lose it." He urged me.
"Ok. Let's go then!" Kai was right. The scent was so weak it was really hard to keep track on it.
We followed the scent almost all the way back to the camp, until a petite blonde human was in front of us.
"Oh, hi. I didn't see you there." She said
She was the one carrying the scent I was so attracted to, but she was definitely human. I was very confused. I could be in front of my mate for all I know, however the only connection I felt was the weak scent I could sense on her. Perhaps this was BECAUSE she was human. I will need to talk to my father and the elders about this when I got back, but in the mean time...
"Hi. I love your perfume."
