1. The Strange Visitor
POV: Elizabeth
"The one hundred year anniversary of the war is coming up at the end of this school year, now the prophecies have told that the war will come to an end on the night of the anniversary this year." Mr. Johnson droned on...
"Now you all know our high priestess has been destined to be the one to end the war, as the strongest witch of our time! The Winter Wood pack has proven to be a fierce and determined enemy that...."
The bell suddenly rang out ending Mr. Johnson's speech. As the students began to grab their books and leave the class he began to yell out our homework "Remember to read Chapter 4 tonight, we will have a quiz tomorrow!"
I quickly grabbed all my books and rushed out of the class and headed to the parking lot, meeting my best friend Ella along the way.
Ella was about my height, at 5"3' with long brown hair, it fell straight down without so much as a single wave all the way to her lower back. she had the silver eyes our coven was famous for, almost all of us had them.
She fell into stride with me and began to talk about her classes, and how the day went. I was too distracted with the note my mother had sent me at lunch.
It was sitting on top of the books in my arms as we walked. She had sent it with magic, in a puff of smoke came the letter.
Elizabeth, we desperately need to talk after school. Come straight home.
She never wanted to talk with me about anything good....
"Liz! are you even listening to me?!" Ella exasperated
"I'm sorry! I just have a lot on my mind" I said showing her the note just as we arrived at my car.
"oooooh what did you do? did you go off and have fun without me?!" she wined.
"I don't know!" I said "I haven't done anything! all these extra classes my mom has made me take this year have me swamped! I don't have time to do anything fun!"
My mom had decided I should take advanced casting, advanced hand to hand combat, and a royal etiquette class all on top of my normal schedule!
it was my senior year, my last chance to part and let off steam before beginning all my duties as the future head of the coven.
I thought all the extra studies over the summer would mean less during the school year, but apparently not.
"I know! I hardly ever see you anymore!" she said as we got into my car.
I began to drive back to my house, Ella lived just next door to me so I didn't have to make another stop.
We drove in silence as I worried about what my mother had to talk about so urgently.
When we got to my house Ella jumped out and began to head for her house, "see you tomorrow Liz! don't forget to text me the answers to the math homework when you're done!" she called, she was terrible at math so I always helped her out.
As I entered my house I got the strangest feeling in my gut, I went up to my mothers study and knocked on the door.
"Come in Elizabeth" my mother called.
I opened the door and there was a man in my mothers office. He was about my mothers age, had short black hair, blue eyes and golden skin. Most prominently I noticed he was very muscular.
The stranger had a strange aura about him, one I did not recognize.
I entered my mothers office and sat in the only empty chair, which happened to be in-between my mother and this strange man. They had sat in front of the fireplace, even though it was stone cold as it was just the beginning of fall.
The stranger was looking me up and down as I sat between them.
He looked at me over his tea, set it down and smiled at me. "Elizabeth, allow me to introduce myself. I'm Jasper, Alpha of the Winter Wood pack."
