Chapter 6: Awakening

Finnicks POV

As I ran to the library I kept thinking how would I tell the children that their mother has returned. How would I get Mira to listen to me and accept my apology? It hurt when she told me my word as Alpha was s**t. But I didn’t take offense because I deserved it. Even Osiris did not rise to anger for the disrespect. “Of course not human, she is angry with you and has every right. She loves me still,” he chortled.

“Whatever, it’s only because of Reign that she is not angry with you I told him. Remember you are part of me. So technically she is angry with you too if you think about it.” I retorted back.

But before he could reply I pushed him to the back as the Pack Library came into view.

I howled softly as I knew Naomi would recognize my howl with urgency. I didn’t want to mindlink her just yet, as I knew she would ask all these questions so I blocked her.

A few minutes later she walked out of the library with Jonah’s on her heels. She glanced around before spotting Osiris.

She walked up to us and patted Osiris on the head “Osiris what is the matter? Why is daddy in wolf form and blocking me?”He rubbed his snout on her arm and started pushing her to the pack house.

“Osiris wait a min. Tell daddy to shi—“ she was cut off when suddenly she yelped in pain and clutched her heart .I saw her body lift in the air and she began to convulse between her wolf and her human form. I attempted to get to her when suddenly I was lifted in the air. I felt this power surge through my body as my body began to shift between forms . I could feel and hear Jonah’s panic as he watched us lift in the air. I could hear Lucian screaming that something was happening to Noah. I tried to speak with Osiris but he was cut off howling in pain. Then this pain appeared on my wrist searing pain like a thousand needles, I could hear myself howling in pain and I could hear Naomi and Noah’s howls. And then I felt it go away as fast as it came on then I sank back to the ground. The last thing I saw was Jonah’s cradling Naomi and screaming for help to the other pack warriors and then I saw nothing.

A few hours later..

I woke up in a panic as I remembered what had transpired. I looked around as I sat up and saw that I was in the hospital ward for the Alpha family with Lucian sitting in chair. He had his head in his hands. “What happened?,” my voice came out gargled. My throat felt raw. My body hurt. At the sound of my voice Lucian looked up and jumped out of his seat.

“Alpha you are awake! Finally. Don’t say anything more. Let me link the Dr. And get you some water. Hold on buddy.” he said as he ran up to the stand near my bed and poured me a glass of water. He came to me and helped me sit up before passing me the cup of water.

I drank it as a man parched in the Sahara. I greedily asked for more.

“Calm down Alpha. I will explain everything in a min. But I will tell you this. You’ve been out for a few hours. The children are okay they both came around about 2 hours ago. The Luna as well. You all passed out at the same time. However it seems from the way the Lunas Betas were acting, they were not surprised.” He said grumpily.

“As a matter of fact, I got into a tussle with the Big One named Michael as he refused to tell us anything. It wasn’t until the omega Kari and the one name Derek stepped in between us that we finally stopped.” He stated.

I finally really looked at him and I could see that he had a couple of marks and scratches all over his face and body.

Before I could ask anything, Dr. Rhodes strode in looking peppy as always when she was taking care of us.

“Alpha great to see your awake. Had us worried for a bit, as you were not responding and Osiris was not responding to any treatment we gave you. However it wasn’t until the Lunas omega Kari came in and touched your foreheads whispered into your ears something that you all started to come around. Physically the only thing wrong with you is the new tattoo on your wrist and the same with the children. You all have a moon and crown tattooed on your wrists. How you might ask? I do not know. Tests show no sign of silver or wolfsbane in your body. So honestly we were at a lost and they won’t explain anything to us. But I can tell you that the omega Kari and your Luna are speaking right now and they seem to be discussing something at length.”

Interesting I thought. It appears Mira and Kari have a lot to say. I looked down at my wrist and sure enough the tattoo was there and it was impressive no bold. It had a gold hue to it. I touched it and i felt power radiating from it. I was amazed. I needed to see Mira. The children needed to see her as well. I had a feeling she knew what was going on and yet it angered me because we could’ve have been hurt and she didn’t mention anything to us.

“Dr. I hate to interrupt you but is it possible that I can meet with the Luna and the Children? We need to get to the bottom of this. I feel different and so does Osiris.” I said cutting her off.

She nodded and said “Yes Alpha. I can have the children and the Luna come in here if you prefer to rest more. Or we can go to the family waiting room as it’s more accommodating.”

I nodded and stated to head to the family waiting room. I looked at Lucian and instructed him to Inform the Luna that she has no choice in the matter. I was determined to get my answers.

Mira’s POV

“Luna” came the whisper. “Luna it’s time to awaken and take your place. Luna..”came the whisper.

I awoke and found myself staring into a pair of familiar brown caring eyes. I blinked a few times, trying to adjust to the lighting. My head was pounding, hell my whole body was pounding.

“Luna you are awake!” Came voice.

I opened my eyes again and looked to the face of the voice and brown eyes. “Kari! Kari my Kari!” I whispered with happiness. Kari was a mother figure to me. She raised me and treated me like her own. She gave me the love only a mother could despite her being an omega servant in the pack and having no relation to me.

“My bebe you are okay! I am here. I am sorry I have not been in touch. We have so much to talk about. But you need to rest a little more, the alpha is going to awaken soon and he will demand answers. The Beta has already fought Michael.”

My jaw dropped. I looked at Kari, but before I could inquire about the children Michael and Derek stepped into the room.

Derek ran over to me and kissed my head. “Mira you are awake, thank goodness! We have been so worried.”

Michael leaned in and kissed my head too. And then he looked at Kari and bowed before saying “High Guardian Kari, it’s a pleasure to finally meet you and an honor to serve beside you.”

Kari bowed back and kissed his cheeks. She then said “Guardian Michael mother is extremely proud of you and so am I. Thank you for providing my Bebe our Queen the protection and love of family. Thank you both.”

My heart filled with love seeing them all together in the room, and then the door opened. Beta Lucian walked in with a serious look, he glared at Michael, Derek and Kari. He cleared his throat and then said “The Alpha is awake and commands all of you in the family waiting room in the next 10 mins to discuss todays events. Do not be late.”

He then looked at me and said “Luna, please do not fight this command.”

I looked at him and nodded briefly. Then he walked out and promptly shut the door.

Silence filled the air, I looked around at them before I spoke with a degree of calmness “Well it appears our presence is demanded. Be ready as Lucian is a reflection of how his Alpha is feeling. Kari you will need to explain everything that you know and answer what you can. I will address what I can. I only know what you and Reign have told me.”

She nodded “Come my darlings. It’s time.”
