Over The Next Few Days

1325 Words
I told Cheyenne, Gavin, Lahaunta, and Kyle that today was the day that we were going to be putting the pup's things into their rooms, but the pups would be sleeping in mine and William's room for a while, then we would let them sleep in their rooms. After a few days, the pups started to sleep in their own rooms and were growing up fast as wolf pups do. The pups seem to enjoy being around everyone and they love their older siblings. All the kids help out with the younger ones and are good with the pups. The whole pack has been such a big help with the new pups, and even the older ones. We have been home with the new pups for about a week and the pack has been really great with the babies. While William and I are at work, Cheyenne and Gavin are with the older children at school. Lahaunta and Kyle are with the babies in the nursery. We just opened a new clothing store that is for children called The Blue Rose Moon Boutique. We will have the red ribbon cutting and grand opening in about a week or two. The children are doing well with their studies and gaining control of their shifting because, as young pups, their emotions are all random, and if they get upset enough they can shift without meaning to. I remember doing it to my dad right after I turned five years old. The older children have had their first shifts and their wolves are impressive. Matt and Harley are both solid black like their father. Katelyn and Sophia were a mix of their mother and father, black and white. James is like William in color. The two of them are gray wolves. Anthony is a white wolf. Nicole and Leah are like me. They are gray wolves. I am getting really curious to see what the new pup's wolves are going to look like. I am sure that we will find out soon, especially with the way that they are growing. The older children can go on hunts now that they are getting older and stronger. They still like to chase the desert creatures around the yard just like when they were younger. Over the next few months, the young pups have grown and are getting stronger, and they are trying to roll over, and standing with the help of anything high enough for them to reach the pack has been a big help with all the pups and the outbursts from the older ones. One of the wolves that has been helping out a lot more was a wolf named Jamie. Her wolf is gray with a light brown and a few places with white in it. She is great with the younger ones and calming them down while William and I are not there, but when we get home, the kids know it and they are all about mom and dad. The Night Howl pups have gotten accustomed to how we do things in this pack, and they love helping take care of all the animals. They have even been able to choose their horse. Jamie and Josh are teaching them to ride. While I go to the boutique and get the last-minute stuff done, William takes our pups to the barn to spend time with their animals. The boys picked out 2 palomino ponies. The girls picked two paint ponies. The kids have had a lot of fun taking care of and learning about their animals. When I was on my way home from the boutique, I got a call from William telling me that White Wall Crown was missing me and kept pacing the stall. I told him that I was about thirty minutes away and that I would be there soon to take a look at him. When I got home, I went straight to the barn to check on my horse and when I got into the barn, I saw him pacing the stall and acting really agitated. He was so agitated that the kids wouldn't go near his stall. They were all afraid that he would try to lash out at them. Not really knowing why he was acting that way, I called the doctor, and she brought vet Amy along with her. They looked him over and figured out that he had been bored and cooped up in the stall so much that he needed to get out and run with the other animals. As they were talking to me, I opened his stall door to put his lead on to take him to the paddock for some exercise. When I got him the horse pen, he started to get a little more feisty. He was also ready to run and be a horse, so I opened the gate and let him off the lead. When I did, he took off like a bullet, running around and rolling and just being a horse. I looked over at William and the kids. Amy and Peggy were all there watching, and I was so happy that I had him and that I had the wonderful family and friends that I have. I tell some of the warriors to watch over the animals and let myself or William know if their attitude or demeanor changes in any way. They nodded once to let me know they understood their order. William looks at the children and me and asks if we are all hungry. He is having one of my favorite dishes made for dinner to celebrate the opening of the new boutique. I told him that I am as do the children, so we walked back to the house. As we entered through the back doors, I smelled spaghetti and meatballs and salad with grilled chicken for dinner and I couldn’t wait. We take the kids and get changed and ready for dinner. I have planned an opening ceremony at the boutique for the weekend after next. I told William. He said that would be great. I can’t wait to see how everything has turned out and how well it is going. Then he tells me that the publishing agency called, and they need us in there tomorrow morning first thing. I agree and say I wish I could have been more involved with some of the books that have come through lately. The following day, Anthony, Sophia, and I got up early to go check on the boutique only to find that it had been broken into and a lot of the clothes and merchandise had been stolen and what hadn't been stolen were wrecked. As we walked in, Sophia ran quickly to the bathroom crying because she knew who led the pack that came to destroy the store because they were mad at us for some reason that we were not aware of yet, but I already knew who and what pack had done it by the claw marks on our pack picture that hung above the office doors. The pack that I knew to be was called The Sanguis Pack. They were known for taking in rouges. They were an absolutely ruthless pack. We have had some problems with them in the past. They have challenged us before for our territory but have yet to defeat us. I called William and told him what we had found and what happened to Sophia. He told me that he would take care of it once and for all. I told him just to send some warriors to do some recon and find out where they are if they are still in the territory or if they have moved on. He agreed to that. He asked why Sophia reacted that way. I told him that I wasn't for sure yet. About that time, she came back out of the bathroom, but she wasn't alone.
