Chapter 11: A Dream

1156 Words
I woke up in a bright room. The sun was beaming through the shades and my head hurt.      “Where am I?” I said quietly.      “You came!” Said a happy voice.      “Who are you?” I asked. The room was still bright and I couldn’t see. I could only hear the voice moving closer to me.     “Ava, you have to listen to me. We don’t have much time before you wake up.” The happy voice was now serious.          I did my best to try and focus, but it was too bright. The voice spoke again breaking me out of my thoughts.      “Ava, you need to listen. Please pay attention.”      “I just need to know who you are.” I asked.     “Ava, you need to mate with Julian to break the spell and soon. They are coming for you.”     “Who is coming for me?”     “Mate with Julian. Save him to save yourself. Don’t worry about your brother.”     “Okay. I’m listening.”     The bright room was slowly going black and I felt myself slipping away once more.     “Ava I love you my beautiful daughter. I will see you again my love.”     Before I could say anything the room was black, and I felt warmth up and down my arm. The same warmth Julian gives me when he touches me. I felt his anxiety through his touch. He was worried about me. He wanted me to be okay. I finally opened my eyes to see the room filled with people.      “I need a moment with Alpha Julian.” I spoke. Everyone quickly exited the room and I waited to speak once more. Michael stood at the door way and I nodded my head signaling his dismiss as well. I know he’s my brother, but what was about to happen needed to be between him and I.     He looked at me with confusion while he pressed a kiss to my forehead. I stared into his purple eyes hoping he accepts my offer. My mother said we needed to mate to save him. I’m not sure from what, but I it pained me just to think about something bad happening. I know the mate bond can cause strength, especially for an alpha, but how much strength?     I sat up on the bed I was in. There was a heart rate monitor next to me, but it wasn’t a hospital, it was just another room in the airy palace. I could tell based on the atmosphere in here, as it matched the rest of the house’s rooms.      “Please, sit Julian.” I patted the spot of the bed next to me and he obliged.      “Are you okay baby? You had me worried. I knew it was going to be too much for you, I told him.” Julian spat.      “No, I mean you knew my brother was still alive and I warned you that I did not want to be lied to. I know you meant well so I will let it slide, but I need to talk to you about something.” My fingernails were suddenly interesting and I started playing with them to convince myself to be brave.     “Ava, I’m sorry but it was too much. You fainted, but thank you. I will not lie to you again. What would you like to talk to me about?” He asked grabbing my hand.      “My mother came to speak to me, while I was unconscious..” He cut me off to speak.     “Wait, your mother? But how…” He was just as shocked as I was, and I then cut him off.      “I have no idea, but she told me something.” I finished.     “What did she tell you?” He asked curiosity was apparent on his face.     “Julian. I just…I don’t know how to tell you.”     “Ava, please tell me.”     “Well most of it, she was telling me I didn’t have much time. But she said to mate with you… to…to save you. I don’t know what it means, but she told me that, they are coming for me. That was all I got before waking up.”      Julian got up and started pacing. His hand was on his neck trying to digest what I was saying. “Ava what are you trying to say?”     I moved to the edge of the bed sitting on my knees as if pleading with him. “Julian, I don’t want you to make any decisions you’re not comfortable with, but I have to go back to the castle and I have no idea when I’ll be able to see you again and I just... If mating with you means you will be stronger, faster, more powerful, then you’ll be unstoppable. Julian I… I cant imagine a world without you now that I know what it’s like to live in a world with you.”     Julian came to me and knelt before me. I looked down at his purple eyes searching for some sort of clarity. I didn’t want to be rejected, but I didn’t want him to be unhappy. All I got was sadness.      “Ava, I don’t want you to be the one making irrational decisions. I don’t want you to regret this.” His eyes were watering. There was true sadness in his voice, but how could I regret this? He was my mate all along and I knew it, I just couldn’t admit it. I reached up and put my hand on his face.      “Julian, I will never regret how blessed I am to have a wonderful mate. We were destined at birth. I want you and I want to fall in love with you.” I whispered.      He picked me up and took me to the bathroom. He grabbed my dress and put it on me; then my socks and the sneakers I was wearing earlier. I put my hair back up as if I never fainted and looked ready to conquer the day. He grabbed my hand and we strode out the door and ran into Michael.      “We will talk later. Mom requested I do something. I will be back.” I gave him a quick hug and Julian took me to his car. He opened my door on his White Range Rover. I got in and smelled his beautiful masculine smell I have grown fond of.      I had no idea where we were going but I was intrigued to find out.
