Chapter 31Dan Barton knocked on the bedroom door and opened it. “Time to go.” The Asian men followed him through the house and out the front door to his black pick- up. He headed north on Highway 37 to Fort Covington. Twenty minutes later, they drove onto the St. Regis Mohawk Reservation and continued along Highway 37 to the west until they reached St. Regis Road. Dan took a right, driving deep into indigenous territory. A Mohawk Tribal Police vehicle passed them going in the opposite direction. Dan drove the speed limit and was grateful for his tinted windows. Ten minutes later they reached the cabin he always used to house his clients. It belonged to his partner's family.
