Can I just say sorry?

1264 Words
ASHER POV Cas left me to get cleaned up, he’d even managed to find a tux that fit me. I wondered aimlessly around the room; my heart ached. I could feel her, somewhere in this town was my soul. And she was burning with a hate that knocked me down so hard, I wasn’t even sure if I’d handle seeing her. She’s been gone for almost two year’s! My soul has been gone with her, now it was back it was battered and bruised. I was going to pay for my mistakes, this much I did know. “Well you look better.” I turn around to see my uncle leaning against the wall, we are the last two left of our family’s bloodline. When I was two hunters tracked our pack down, mum, dad and his wife all lost their lives. Sometimes I wonder if he’ll ever get it back, he hasn’t looked at another person the same way he did for aunt Yvonne. “She’s here.” I say it like he cares, he doesn’t. His made it very clear that I let our whole family, I let my pack and my soul mate down. “Yeah, I know.” My eyes shot up; he’d seen her already. “You’ve seen her? Where is she?” My hands are shaking, my adrenaline spiking up. “I almost didn’t recognize her; she’s changed her hair colour from brown to blonde. She even cut it, she looks amazing.” I couldn’t help but feel like he was leaving something out, an evil smile playing on the edge of his mouth. “I’m so happy for you, that my pain is causing you so much joy!” My wolf speaks for me. Thanks, but I don’t need you to help me! “You think this is pain?” Lawrence scoffed at me. “Just you wait, she isn’t done with you yet either.” What did he mean? Had she planned to get me back? His voice turned more serious when the grandfather clock in the hallway started dinging. “Time to go alpha.” I take a long breath in and nod, thankfully even though I had gone crazy and smashed my car, along with our old house Law had managed to convince the insurance company since the police had opened an official case into the matter I was safe. All they had was the remnants of what I imagined it would look like after a tornado hit the town. I decided to drive, I needed to hold onto something. The closer I got to the cemetery the more I felt her pull, I knew she could feel it to. She didn’t like it one bit. It hurt like hell. By the time I made it to the turn, I couldn’t contain myself I could feel myself being drawn to her. I knew everything in the entire world wouldn’t matter ever again, just as long as I had her with me. My eyes started searching for her, I stopped searching when I knew it was her. O didn’t even have to turn; I knew it was her. I jumped out of the car, my body treating me like a puppet on a string. “Yeah sure no problem, I’ll just park the car.” Law spat at me through the open door, I give him a wave over my shoulder. O’s Grammy Lynn looked over her granddaughter’s shoulder. “I wanted to pay my respects.” Lynn considers it for a moment. I couldn’t help but stare at O, who still hadn’t turned around. Though from how stiff her back was, I could tell she knew was doing it on purpose. I thought I had her swear before finally she slowly turned around, my heart stopped.  Her black dress made her look like she was someone’s CEO, like Karen was about to get fired! She looked fierce, but her face it was. Oh. My. God. She’s shifted to, this was the real her. The full her. “Hello alpha, thanks for being here.” Her word’s lit fire’s inside. “You don’t have to call me that.” Not her, not here. Not ever, my biggest mistake was thinking she wasn’t as important as I was. No. O was so much more than that. “Is that an order?” She sounded disgusted in me, like even standing here was killing her. “No. I.” I f****d up.  “I’m so sorry O.” She flinched at her nickname. “Me too.” O left me standing there paralysed, she sat beside her Grammy. After the wolf’s had their funeral, we all stayed on in the woods, waiting to send them off into the night. It was only fighting that since we all each are born on a full moon, that we leave in the same way. I sat by myself, drinking bourbon I’d made sure was bought here. I made sure a lot it happened, I ordered enough food for the whole pack, enough drinks that half of them were probably going to be here for the whole weekend. Everyone seemed to swoon over her, her friend’s all showing off their husbands, their kid’s. She smiled the entire time., she was an effected by me. So why wouldn’t she talk to me? “Mind if I sit?!” Cas asks standing next to me a drink in his hand, I nod. “She looks good. I mean she’s okay.” Cas says when I don’t say anything, that made one of us. “I tried talking to her all day, she doesn’t even give me a chance.” “Dude you let her go, I mean can you blame her?” What the hell kind of pep talk was this? “Look, you let her think she had no other choice but to leave us al behind, so find a way to make her not want another choice but to stay.” I jumped up. “I’M NOT GOING TO FORCE HER TO STAY IF SHE DOESN’T WANT TO WHE I DON’T EVEN WANT TO BE WITH MEI realized my voice wasn’t a whisper, everyone had stopped talking to look at me. So was O, her head tilted to the side. She was listening to us. “Give me the keys to the car!” I had to get out of here. I throw the keys on grass and left towards the main road; the walk will do you good. The moon shines bright down the main road, I snapped again. Infront of her this time! Yeah and this time you didn’t even need my help. “I don’t need anger management help from you, just leave me alone.” Why so you can wallow some more, I don’t think so. We aren’t doing that s**t anymore! “What do we do?” If your asking me we’re already screwed.
