A force to reckon with

I blacked out for a total of two hours, it wasn’t just because of the light out incident the stress I had been through lately must have contributed to it.

I opened my eyes slowly to find a pair of grey eyes peering at me. I couldn’t decipher what was behind that intent look but it felt like possession, like the owner of the eyes was claiming me.

He was sat at the edge of the bed with my head on his lap. I thought I saw a flash of worry on his face but it disappeared just as fast.

Hey you are awake, are you okay, what happened he asked placing me on the bed before pouring me a glass of water.

Everything happening to me is your fault I said unbothered.

What is that supposed to mean Lilly he asked unsure of where I was going with this.

Ask your little girlfriend what she did to me today, Blake you are very lucky I was in the right state of mind I would have destroyed her face today I lamented.

Do not even mention her name I answered cutting him off.

Just tell her to stay the hell away from me and this house,I already deal with so much with my family members who does she think she is I yelled again.

Whether it is a contract or not this marriage is for better for worse. I don’t care if you have a play thing outside but I hate disrespect so make sure she never disrespects me ever.

Listen here Mr, play thing or not you are married to me I don’t want a spoilt brat near me or our home. You can have her outside all you want I do not give a damn but in here I control it.

You must really think you are something Lilly, The audacity to talk back at me is something that needs to be studied he replied grabbing his car keys.

Blake get back in here, you seem to be forgetting that you married me legally don’t make me do something that will make all of us regret this decision I screamed out after him but he left already

I heaved a sigh of relief as I finally gulped down the water with a smile.

Men are egotistical creatures, mess with them and they will get back at who made you angry. The other woman must think she has all the cards in her hand.

Hell no, in this game I am fully in control whether they both like it or not.

Two could definitely play the victim card.

The night went by in a blur and I was awake by 6 am in the morning. I chuckled to myself thinking about how I took my stand with Blake.

I got out of bed and took a shower first before ascending downstairs for breakfast.

I met Blake already at the table drinking a cup of coffee. I ignored him and dragged out a chair menacingly while he just sighed.

He was frustrated and I was loving it.

I grabbed the last piece of toast on the serving plate onto mine just before he could grab it.

I picked up the strawberry jam and spread it on the toast before finally eating it crunchily

He was annoyed by my attitude and I could tell.

Stop pushing your luck Lilly he said finally breaking the silence.

Is this your way of apologising to me I asked with a smile.

I did nothing wrong, why should I apologise he replied with a shrug.

But your little girlfriend did, she ruined all my hard work for what I asked again?

What can I do to get you less angry he asked bringing out his phone.

Hmm let’s see I answered pretending to think about it.

That contract she took from me, make sure I get it. Only then can this war end between us.

There is no pleasure here it’s just business baby i whispered in his ear after leaning over the table.

I tried to wriggle free but he wouldn’t let go. In the end I gave up and sat there while he worked on his phone.

Blake seemed like a force to reckon with. He was someone that got anything he wanted. I know little about him but he is intriguing.

He makes me want to find out more.
