Chapter 7 The Arrival of The New President

The next day Sophia was awakened by the ringing of her phone. 

Sophia: Hello!

Nathan: Good morning, Angel! 

Sophia: Why have you called so early? "I'm still sleepy," Sophia replied in a hoarse voice.

Nathan: "Wake up, sleepy heads, come on, accompany me to the gym." "Change into your workout clothes. I'll give you ten minutes." "I'll wait for you downstairs." Bye!

Sophia: Wait! Ah! Before she could speak, the phone hung up. 

Sophia snapped out of sleep; She got out of bed, tied her hair changed into her yoga attire, and top it with a jacket. When she was walking out of the elevator, Nathan was waiting for her. 

"Looking at his phone, you are three minutes late."

What do you expect! "You wake me up from my beauty sleep."

He just smirked at me. We drive through the gym just two blocks away from my place. As we walked inside the gym, there are few people already ahead of us.

Sophia went directly to the treadmill; she didn't realize the gym was full as time passed. After thirty minutes, she finished and went to Nathan, who was on weightlifting. She waits till he finishes.

"Nathan, I am finished. Can we go now? 

Looking at his body, she admits he was strong and appealing hot. 

This is the first time she has seen six-pack abs so close.

" Like what you see," Nathan says, smirking.

Sophia looks away; she wishes that she was not blushing. She walks fast out of the gym. 

"Hey! Wait for me," Nathan shout at her. 

They ate breakfast outside, and Sophia's phone rings 

Sophia, Hello Vice Pres. 

VP Reynolds: "The new President will take office today; don't be late."

Sophia: "Ok, Vice President." 

Nate, Can we go now? Why of all the days, Why today? 

Why what happened? 

"The new Pres. will take his office today."

Nathan's lips curl up, and Sophia didn't notice. He drops Sophia at her place; as she opens the door, he calls and signals Sophia to wait.

He finished the call and said that he couldn't pick her up for work as there's an urgent matter he needs to attend to.

"Don't worry. I can drive my own car."

Are you sure? "I can assign a driver for you." 

"I'm fine! Before she steps out of the car, she kissed Nathan on the cheeks and quickly goes away without looking back.

Nathan was stunned. Did she kiss me? Hahaha! He still felt her kiss on his cheeks.

Upon arriving at her place, she was blushing so hard. She pats her face. 

What did you do, Sophia? she was talking to herself.

Sophia takes a bath, does her beauty routine, and applied waterproof mascara, eyeliner, and lip gloss. 

She admits she looks hot on his six-pack abs. 

How does it feel if I hold it ah! What are you thinking? 

Sophia, you are drooling with your boyfriend's body. Sophia didn't notice that it was ten minutes before office time. 

Because she fantasized about her boyfriend, as she was about to open the door, her doorbell rang.

She opened the door, "delivery for Miss Hankey! 

She accepted the flowers and signed her name. She went back to the kitchen, look for a vase, and put water in it.

She received a bouquet of roses. She looked for a note, but there was none. She assumes that it came from Nathan. She smells the flowers and smiles. She put the flowers in the vase, took a picture of it, and sent it to Nathan.

Sophia: Thank you for the flowers.

She went straight to the parking lot and put her things inside the car; before she drives she looks at her phone, but there's no reply. She drives the car on the way to the company.

While Nathan just arrived at the company entrance, the Vice Pres., managers, directors, and supervisors were standing at the entrance of a building. They were waiting for the new President's arrival.

They did not usually gather at the entrance unless important people coming. 

"I heard that the new President is coming; otherwise, the VP and the Director would not wait here."

"I really want to see what our new President looks like. I wonder if he's single or..."In your dreams! definitely not someone like you."

"I don't see Director Hankey."

 "Where is she? She's not attending events like this?

"Let's go; the guards are coming to us."

All the employees started gossiping and left when the security guards chase them away.

"Vice President Reynolds, is Director Hankey not her yet? 

"Did she know that the new President is coming today? 

How can she be late? A woman in a black suit huffed; she had a good figure and look capable.

She was also one of the Directors of the company. Her name was Brenda Moss; she was not popular with her colleagues, but she performed her job well.

Director Hankey has never been late. She called a while ago that she would be a little late. 

"Is President Dyson here yet?

VP Reynolds glanced at Director Moss. The person who called him was President Dyson; Director Hankey must have known Pres. Dyson personally, but Director Hankey was always on time. Why was she running late today? VP Reynolds was worried about her. 

The old Chairman was the one who brought Sophia since she joined the company. She was smart and hard-working. She was one of the best subordinates.

VP Reynolds was unhappy when director Moss criticized her. The other female VP voice out her thoughts, It's a big event that the new President is coming today; would he feel disrespected, with so few of us welcoming him? 

"The new Pres. doesn't like a big fuss. It's fine."

Finally, several cars slowly come closer.

"He was here."

The luxurious car stopped in front of the entrance. Assistant Ron Adams got down from the car and opened the door of the passenger seat. Nathaniel Dyson stepped out of the car.

" Congratulations on taking over Dyson Ltd. Pres. Dyson". VP Reynolds leads the team, and the rest went and congratulated him.

Nathan wears a casual white suit. He nodded and walked right through the entrance.

"Inform all selective personnel that I like to have a meeting in fifteen minutes." 

Then he disappeared, followed by assistant Adams and his bodyguards. 

After he left, Sophia arrived in the building; it was her first time being late to work the new president's first day. She sighed and went straight to the meeting room.

The meeting room was filled with employees. Everyone looked at the handsome and distant young man with a face devoid of emotion, and everyone felt uneasy. 

Nathan was reading documents that the VP gave to him. Everyone was worried that there were rumors of restructuring of management level. Everyone was staring at Nathan. 

As Nathan put down the document and raised his head to face everybody. 

He glanced over, and he frowned "is someone on leave today?" 

"President, that's Director Hankey's spot; she might be delayed, she's always on time. "I'll give her a call," VP Reynolds says as he was about to call.

Sophia hurriedly came into the meeting room. "Sorry, I'm late! As she apologized, her face was flushing due to her rushing. She caught her breath as she goes toward her place. 

The man in the center gave her a shock. 

How could it be him? Nathaniel Dyson...Dyson Ltd. The new Pres. Of Dyson Ltd., her current boss! Her boyfriend!

Nathan raised his head and looked at her. He was calm, but some people were throwing glances at Sophia.

"Go sit down; there'll be no exception next time." 

Sophia nod and went to her seat. 

"Whose in charge of the new product launch? 

The manager started giving an update; reported the whole progress of the products clearly.

Nathan just sat and listened; he nodded and reminded them.

"Director Hankey, please tell us the progress of the marketing and advertising of our new products."

There was a short silence as she opened the documents.

"The new product launch marketing and advertisement are all complete; we're in the latter phase of finalizing the advertisement."

Asst. Adams took the documents from her and handed them to Nathan. He flipped through them and finally finished. 

"If the marketing research gives nice feedback, it will depend on your hard work."

"There will be a reward if the products were sold and the quota is met this quarter."

Everyone was excited as they unexpectedly know that the new Pres. was generous.

" I'll hope that the launch will go smoothly," that's it for now.

Any more problems? 

Everyone shook their heads.

"Meeting adjourned." Nathan stood up and left with asst. Adams. And the others left the meeting room as well. 

Sophia was in her office when she heard a knock on the door. 

"Come in."

Eve entered and said, "Director assist. Adams called and said that the Pres. wants you to go to his office."

She paused and looked at Eve, then nod "I got it."

Eve left the room. Sophia arrives at the Pres. office Asst. Adams greet her.

She knocked, but the door was open; it was not locked. Nathan heard footsteps; he saw her enter; he pointed at the sofa.

"I know, grandpa."

"Nate, I'm doing this for your own good. I don't care if she was an orphan or poor."

How's you and Sophia? 

"Were okay."

" I'll give you three months to marry her. If not, I will pull you out of that office and marry you off to any woman I chose you to marry," understood. 

Before he could say anything, the call was cut off. 

Sophia heard the loud voice; she smiled and thought how funny. 

Nathan speaks, "laugh all you want. I didn't send you flowers."

What! then who is it coming from? "I thought you send it as there was no card."

Maybe someone sends you or your secret admirer." 

"I don't remember someone I meet recently except you and your friends."

Nathan came near her and whispered in her ear, "next time, don't accept it if it was not made in gold."

En! You're not jealous? 

Why should I be jealous? "I'm proud that my woman was attractive."

"You trust me that much, ha!

After their talk, Sophia returns to her office. Time passed by; they go home together; Nathan cooks dinner in Sophia's place; after they finished eating, they cleaned and washed the dishes, then he goes home, and she went to bed and sleep.
