Chapter 3 Accidental Meeting

The next day Sophia rose from the bed and ran to the bathroom. She emptied the contents of her stomach into the toilet. Sophia's head pounded from the excessive liquor she drank last night. This was the worst time of her life.

Sophia stripped out of the clothes she had worn last night, hopped in the shower, and washed. After 20 minutes, she wrapped herself in a towel and used another to dry her hair. 

Sophia sits at the side of the bed, ignoring her skull-crushing headache. Sophia grabs her phone and looks at the time; it's 9 am. Sophia went back to bed after drying her hair. 

After some time, Liz waked up and ran to the bathroom; she takes a quick shower and gets dressed. "My head is pounding," Liz says. 

“Mine too! Sophia says.

As Nancy also got awaken. She ran to the bathroom and take a bath while Liz was in the kitchen cooks breakfast and hangover soup.

Nancy speaks, "I think this was the worst we've ever get after drinking because the feeling afterward wasn't worth it."

Sophia answered, “I had the best time of my life last night as Nancy came;" “Yeah, because you've met your prince charming.” 

“You mean my cousin Nathan? The one that you're talking about? Nancy asks. “You're lucky, Sophia; he’s a one-woman man; you know he had no relationship with any woman. Just look at his profile on the internet.” Nancy says. 

“Is he for real? “Yeah, it's true! Bryan and I were also shocked last night when he approaches Sophia.” “Grandfather will be happy if he knows about this.” ”Thanks to you, Sophia.” 

The three women fell into a conversation while they drink the hangover soup and take medicine after eating their breakfast. After they ate their breakfast, Liz and Nancy leave Sophia's place. 

”Guys, I'll be at the coffee shop, we will meet there at 2 pm later. ”Sophia yells at Liz and Nancy.

Liz and Nancy answered, “we'll see." 

It's been one in the afternoon; when Nathan was free to move around freely. Nathan keeps thinking of the brave girl that night. He owes Sophia his life. He was thinking about Sophia when his phone vibrated. Buzz, buzz, buzz Nathan answered the call. 

"Hello, Nate, let's meet at the coffee shop at 2 pm later; I'll bring the investigation report to you.” Bye! Bryan called. 

Before Nathan could reply, Bryan hangs up the call. Nathan arrives at the coffee shop 10 minutes early. Nathan chose the seat at the corner facing the door. At exactly 2 pm, Bryan arrives; he sat opposite Nathan. 

Bryan passed the envelope. “Take a look at it yourself,” Bryan says. Nathan opened the envelope and read the report.

Occupation: Marketing/ Advertising Director at Dyson Ltd. 

Hobbies: baking, cooking, reading books, watching Netflix, playing online games, etc.

Also owned a coffee shop and allergy to coffee.

Works at Dyson Ltd. for 4 years, had been promoted 3 months ago.

As Nathan looked up, after finished reading the report, he saw Sophia entering the coffee shop. 

Sophia looks like a high school girl dressed in denim shorts and black summer chiffon off-shoulder blouse exposing her collarbone with a 3-inch wedge sandal; her shoulder-length long straight hair was dangling when she entered the coffee shop. 

She was smiling at the person on the table waiting for her. 

Nathan can't bring himself; he got up from his seat and went to Sophia's table. 

"Hi, Nancy, Hi Sophia." “Would you mind if you both join us at our table? 

"Hello, Nathan. “Sure, the more, the merrier." “Come on, Nancy.” 

Nancy and Sophia follow Nathan to their table. Bryan was shocked when he saw who sit in front.

 “Why only two of you here? Where's Jack? Nancy asks. 

Bryan answered. “He would be here later.” 

As the server arrive and ask, Bryan ordered 2 Blue mountain coffee.

 “For Nancy and me, the usual Gav,” Sophia says.

"Is that all, mam? Gav asks. Sophia answered.” Yes! “Your order will arrive shortly,” Gav says.

“It seems you three have a mission here,” Nancy asks. 

“This is our last mission before we retire; you know the older man keeps on bugging us to settle down before reaching the age of 32.”

Hahaha, you too, Nathan; I feel sorry for you; Nancy smirks and scoffed. 

“Don't laugh at us as if you are omitted.” “Did you forget that you are the fiancee of the man who sat by my side? Nathan said. 

The waiter arrives for the drinks and cakes before Nancy could react. “Thanks, Gav. "What are these extra cakes? Sophia asks. 

“Dex wants you to taste it if it's okay with your taste before adding it to our menu,” Gav says.

 “Ok, I will tell you later,” Sophia answered. “Come on, guys, taste it. I want to hear your honest comments,” Sophia says. 

Then Liz and Jack arrive after another. Suddenly there's a commotion near the counter. Sophia called Gav. "Hello! Gav, what's the situation? What happened? 

"Oh, it's your sister and her minions creating a ruckus here. 

Hannah and Avery? Sophia says while frowning. "Can you handle them? If not....don't bother mam Sophia. I can handle them. 

Ok, call me if they continue to harass our people, Sophia says. 

Nancy asks, That b***h Hannah and Avery again? Why do they always keep on bothering you even though you keep your distance from them? 

"Don't waste your anger with them; they’re not worthy,” Sophia says.

Then the three men receive a text message. 

It says, “You are cordially invited to our 15th wedding anniversary this coming Friday at the port area dock xx "Princess" ship. Your attendance is a must. Attire: Casual as there were games to be held. “Would you please bring your lady plus one? 

Nathan forwarded the message to Sophia. Ting!! 

Sophia: The day after tomorrow I can't go with you. 

Nathan: Do you still want to go to the engagement of your ex-bf? 

Sophia: How'd you know?

Nathan: I have ways, Sophia; I will take no for an answer 

Sophia: Can I think about it?

Nathan: Look at the time on his phone; I'll give you five minutes to decide your answer. 

Sophia: Hey, that was so fast. 

Nathan: timer starts now. 

“Ladies, right timing, we had been invited to attend a banquet on Friday, and we need a lady plus one,” Bryan says. 

“Nathan and Sophia, Jack and Liz, and I and Nancy. What about it? I will take no for an answer. Besides, it's the weekend after that day. 

Bryan keeps on talking, but it didn't reach Sophia's ears. Sophia heard Liz, and Nancy answered yes. 

What about you, Sophia? Nancy asks.

"Huh, what did you say? Sophia asks. 

“We agreed to be their plus one; what about you? Liz asks. 

"Ok, as you two agreed, I'll go too,” Sophia answered.

“It's all set; no change of plans then,” Bryan says.

Sophia: I'll go with you.

 Nathan: Thanks, angel :) 

After they finish their drinks and cake, they decided to go on their way. Many people in the coffee shop that day, Sophia decided to help and check the account books. Sophia heard her stomach grumble. She looks at the time; it's almost dinnertime. She quickly finished her work and got out of the office. 

Sophia saw Nathan serving coffee to some of the men sitting at the table while the girls ogled on Nathan. Sophia walks towards Nathan. 

”You did not go with them? Sophia asks. 

“No, I want to invite you for dinner,” Nathan says. 

“Ok, let's go! I'm hungry,” Sophia says. 

Bro! “Who's this beautiful lady? Nathan ignores them. 

”Let's go, don't mind them; they're my comrades.”

 “Next time, bro, on Friday, I'll bring her,” Nathan says.

 "Bye, guys, thanks for coming here,“ Sophia said.

 After they ate their dinner, Nathan drops Sophia at her place. She takes a warm bath and changes into her loose t-shirt sleepwear. She drops her tired body onto the bed and sleeps.
