Chapter 2 Girls Day Out

Sophia Hankey, 24 years old, 159cm tall, had straight shoulder-length hair, and everyone who sees her smile will turn with her pearly white teeth, with soft pale skin. A daughter of Bernadette Garcia, a nurse who works in one of the hospitals in California, meets the businessman Raffy Hankey and marries her despite being a single mom who has a daughter left in the Philippines.

When Sophia's grandmother dies, her mother Bernadette petitioned her to follow her in California. Sophia was studying in her 3rd year at de Lasalle University with a Nursing degree. She was adopted by her foster father, Raffy Hankey.

When she was at UCLA, she studied business with two majors. He meets Joshua, who became her friend and later on became her boyfriend for 5 years. She has two best friends, Liz, who was a Korean, and Nancy.

While Sophia was inside her office, she received a phone call from Nancy inviting her to go shopping with Liz. They went towards South Coast Plaza; they parked by the outdoor parking and got out of the car.

They walked around the boutique before going to the jewelry store.

"Nancy, you look great with all of this! Which one do you like the most? Liz asks.

“Well, I like this with heart shape design pendant." ” I like this one also.” "Please pack it up," Nancy says. "

Yes," mam. “Would you please wait for a while? Nancy handed her black card to the saleslady.

It was 7 p.m, and the sky was dark when they came out of the mall. The three women went into the parking lot.

Instead of going home, Nancy turned around and went to a club. As they arrived, they went straight to the bar and ordered a ladies' drink. The shots kept coming, and they went to the dance floor to dance it off.

Then Sophia felt someone's hands on her waist, she turned around and found a very hot guy.”Hey, babe, do you mind if I dance with you? "Sure, why not? Sophia was dancing to a stranger.

She was having fun; she moved in the rhythm of the music. At the very moment, the music her favorite player played, every person in the club was shouting, screaming and, cheering she went up on the stage. She was having a showdown with someone.

In the VIP room, Nathan watches everything; he already saw Sophia with his cousin entering the club. Nathaniel Dyson, 31 years old, is an ex-military soldier and the grandson of one billionaire. He was good-looking, 164 cm tall, had military-cut black hair, brown eyes, had broad and muscular chest, six-pack abs that every woman droll for.

Nathan went towards the crowd, but Ashley blocks his path.“Hi! Does Nathan want to have a dance with me? Nathan got angry as Ashley's hands were groping at his body and went further in front, rubbing her breast at him. “f**k…off! “Get the hell away from my face!! Nathan says eyes glaring at Ashley.

Ashley got scared of Nathan’s glaze, and she let go. Nathan was furious, and he felt like puking. He keeps himself calm for a while, looking at Sophia.

Nathan saw Sophia dancing with a man. He kept his eyes on her song after song, and the song ended. Nathan's blood boiled seeing them dancing together though they dance apart. Nathan went towards Sophia, but her friends dragged her down the stage and went to their place.

Nathan went back to the VIP section while keeping his eyes glued to Sophia.

Bryan, "Nathan's best friend, tease him,“

Bro! What was that? “Do you know her?

Who? Nathan asks.

“That girl you are looking at the stage,” Bryan asks.

“Did the sunshine on the west? “It's the first time that I saw you looking for a woman like that? “Don't tell me...Bryan is interrupted by Nathan.

”Do you believe in love at first sight? Nathan asks.

“Do you mean you are? Bryan asks.

“I ask you, but you answered me with a question,” Nathan says.

“Yeah, I am in love with her; ever since that night, I can’t forget her face; she's the first woman I don't feel disgusted with.” “I know her name, but she doesn't know mine.” “Remember the time that I got injured last few months ago? “She was the one who gave me first aid and hid me behind the bush. I bleed a lot; if not for her, maybe I'm not here drinking with you.” “I was losing a lot of blood, but the funny thing was to keep the blood stops flowing, she put sanitary pads on my wound, and it helps, you know. And she was crying,” Nathan said.

“Sophia Hankey, that's her name,” Nathan answered.

“She looks Asian. Okay, tomorrow I'll give you the result.” while typing a text on his cellphone, he was Bryan Lowey, a buddy and best friend of Nathan since diaper days. He was also in the military together with Nathan and his other friend Jack. Had dark brown military cut hair, brown eyes 184 cm tall, had a hard broad chest and abs, and a good-looking.

On Sophia's side, "damn, that was something! Liz says and laughs.

"Wow, I'm glad we came out tonight," Sophia said.

"Yeah, It was great after all."

Sophia feels like someone was watching her; she looked around and saw a man on the stairs staring at her. He looks familiar; she feels like they had met before, then a flash comes in her mind that man that night, she can’t forget his eyes.

”Why is he staring at me?”What is his problem? Creepy! Sophia says to herself.

“Nancy, I think you know that guy who was staring at us,” Sophia asks.

Nancy glance at the place where Sophia pointed. She saw Nathan.

“Yeah, he was my cousin. Why? Nancy asks.

“Oh! He was the man that I helped months ago.” Sophia says.

“Your prince charming,” Liz smirked.

Sophia's face turns red. Another hour passed, but every time Sophia glance at Nathan, he seemed to be in the same position staring at Sophia.

Nathan glanced at Sophia, but she was not there anymore. He only blinks once, and she was lost out of his sight of her.

"Damn it, he looks for Sophia everywhere, and he couldn't find her." “Where did she go? Nathan turned around, and he saw her.

A guy in front blocked Sophia. She was tensed by the way he saw her face. Sophia tried to pass, but the guy squeezes her in the arms. Her eyes display aggression. She was trying to get away and walk from the man.

This man was calling for trouble. Nathan slowly walked to Sophia, but before Sophia slapped the man's face, Nathan throws a punch, knocking the bastard's jaw.

Sophia looked at the man on the ground.

"Don't you f*****g touch her!

Sophia was looking at Nathan and turn behind him, clutching his coat tightly.

"Give me the girl." the man said, standing up. For some reason, it angered Nathan; before Nathan knew it, his fist landed onto a man's face, and the man fell to the floor.

Nathan turned around and asked Sophia.

”Are you alright? "Why did you come alone?

“It's dangerous; maybe you inform your friends to accompany you," Nathan asks.

Sophia answered,” They are enjoying themselves, and I don't want to disturb them."

“Next time, don't go alone," Nathan says. “There's no next time, and we only came here just to be wasted for a night to celebrate my being single,” Sophia answered.

"Good girl." Let's go! I will bring you to your place.” Nathan says.

Ashley saw all Nathan and Sophia's interactions she got jealous of Sophia.

Ashley slowly walks to Nathan.”Hi, Nathan! We meet again, Ashley says.

Nathan ignores Ashley as if she was not there. As Sophia was drunk, she stumbled. Nathan catches her on the waist. Their eyes met. Sophia looked up. There she was closer to him. And she was beautiful than Nathan thought.

"Thank you! Sophia says.

"Are you okay? Nathan asks.

“I'm o..okay! Sophia answered, stuttering while blushing."

“By the way, thank you for saving me last time," Nathan says.

”How was your wound? Is it healed now, I think? It is? If not, you are not here in the club? Sophia asks.

Ashley still doesn’t give up. “Hi! I’m Ashley, and you are? “Why is she with you? Do you two know each other? Ashley asks.

”Yes, she is with me, and she was my fiancée, and please, you are bothering us.”Nathan says.

Nathan and Sophia walk away, leaving Ashley dumbfounded by what she heard, "Fiancee, he was engaged; that’s why he was ignoring me.” Ashley says to herself.

“Hey! Why did you do that, huh! "We are not…she was cut off. “We are here for a job,” Nathan says.

“Are you a spy or a… never mind why am I so nosy,” Sophia asks. And, "Thank you for helping me with that bastard were, even now, " Sophia says.

“I'm Nathaniel Dyson, and I’m in the military, and we are spying on some of the enemies who tried to kill me last time.”

“Stretching her hand, Sophia Hankey, nice to meet you.”

“Nice to meet you too;" Nathan stretches his hand for a handshake.

“I'll bring you to your friends, or maybe you can join with my friend,” Nathan asks.

“Okay, I am with your cousin Nancy; she saw you earlier,” Sophia replied.

”Is that so, then let’s go to my table; it’s less crowded than your place.” Nathan says.

As they passed on their way out, Sophia stumbled on Nathan's hardback. Nathan quickly turns around; he hugs her a shiver runs down his spine like an electric shock in his body. He almost buckled down because he was also drunk.

Sophia pulled out of Nathan's arms while holding her nose. Ouch! Ouch!

"Sorry" did it hurts badly,” Nathan asks with a concerned look on his face.

”Not so much, Is there something on your back? Sophia asks.

“No, Why do you ask? Nathan answered.

“It’s hard as a rock; I feel like my nose was folded,” Sophia asks.

Nathan chuckled. “Oh, I’m very sorry." "Come on! We will put ice on it,” Nathan answered.

“Come, we will fetch your friends,” Nathan says.

The three women stay for another hour. Sophia tried to keep her cool, but Nathan's stares bothering her; each time she looked at him, their eyes meet.

Nathan can’t resist Sophia; he sits beside Sophia and asks for her f*******: account. Ting! Sophia Hankey accepted your friend request. Nathan and Sophia talked about random things knowing each other likes and dislikes, and they feel like they were friends for too long, though they only knew each other an hour ago.

"One last toast. Cheers!!! And they call it a night. Nathan promised that they would keep in touch. Sophia and Nathan looked into each other eyes. Sophia smiled, and Nathan smirked while drinking the liquor.
