Chapter 12 Friend's Get Together

Early in the morning, Bryan and Jack called that they would visit Sophia's place tonight, To celebrate our engagement and the success of the product launch. Liz and Nancy also called Sophia one after another in the afternoon. Nathan and Sophia decide to go grocery shopping in the afternoon. 

They went into the supermarket there were many people; they just walked through the entrance. As they walk, Sophia heard someone murmuring.

"Is that Pres. Dyson, he's so handsome." 

I don't know if he heard it. Nathan was walking ahead of her, pulling a trolley. Then he looked for her when he manages to pull out a trolley. 

"Oh my, he's so handsome in person." "Is that his rumored fiancee or maybe his wife? 

"They look good together? 

Sophia took a deep breath and continued to walk, ignoring the woman that was ogling at Nathan. 

"He's so handsome, charming, a total package with abs, muscles, lean body, and everything."

"Come on, Sophia!

 "Is this your first time going to the supermarket, Nate? 

"Nope! Nathan pushed the trolley. 

Sophia tossed a junk food, but Nathan put it back. No wonder she's so skinny. Nathan went into the canned goods section. Sophia follows him; he read the label first before putting it into the trolley. 

Sophia put in a canned tuna. Nathan put various vegetable potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, broccoli, leeks, cabbage, spinach, bell peppers, onion, ginger, tomatoes, etc. 

What's this? he asked. 

He picked it up and showed it to Sophia. 

"It's garlic," the trolley was full.

"Do we need all of this? Yes, you are a foodie, remember."Let's go to the meat section and the seafood." Nathan put in the beef tenderloin and a whole chicken and fish. 

He also put scallops,abalone,shrimp,squid,clams,crabs and lobster. 

Sophia was pressing a thong on the chicken breast when Nathan stood close beside her. She felt his breath fan on her nape. Sophia dragged a breath and caught a whiff of his pine and woody scent that she's familiar with. Her heart flipped over when she found her smiling. 

Why are you smiling? 

"We looked like newlyweds going grocery shopping" while leaning down, tucking her hair behind her ears, his hot breath fanning her face. 

Sophia ignored him, face flushed red like an apple, and went to another lane. 

"Where are you going?

He smirked while his lips slightly curl up. 

"I want to eat spaghetti with meatballs." 

Nathan follows and picks up some ingredients for spaghetti.

"Let's go to the dairy section."

"I want mozzarella cheese and my yogurt."

"I want to make a Tarte Tatin."

"Let's go to the fruit section."

Suddenly Nathan's phone vibrated inside his pocket. 

"I'll have to take this call outside. I'll be back." Sophia nodded and went to another section, as she remembers. She wants to cook "chicken adobo" for tonight. She looked for soy sauce, vinegar, and bay leaf. She can't find the bay leaf. She was about to look for a merchandiser to ask when he bumped into someone.

"Miss Hankey, is that you? 

"Hi, Mr. Ferrell. Are you cooking for the whole family? "That's so much grocery in your cart."

"Yeah, my friends and their boyfriends were coming over to my place for a party."

"Oh! I see." What are you looking for? 

"I'm looking for a bay leaf; it's some dry herbs like black pepper powder."

"It's right over there, the next lane." "Did you receive the flowers I send? 

"Oh, it was from you? Yeah! Thanks for the flowers, Mr. Ferrell."

Nathan finished the call; he looked for Sophia, she found her she's not alone. She was talking to a tall and handsome man. He doesn't know why he felt a pang of jealousy by looking at them although they are talking and far apart. He slowly walked to them.

"There you are?

He grabbed Sophia's hand. And softly said; What took you so long? 

"Sorry, I was looking for a spice that I will need later." 

What spices? "I'll get it for you; stay here."

"Ok, please get me a packet of bay leaf."

Is that all? 

"Yes."

As Nathan was about to walk, he stops. Hi, I'm Nathaniel Dyson, Sophia's fiancee, and you are? 

"I'm James Ferrell; nice to meet you." They both shake hands. 

"Nice meeting you too, Pres. Ferrell." 

"Nice meeting you two, Miss Hankey, Pres. Dyson. I'll go first."

They went into the spices section together. Sophia takes all the spice she needs in the future. 

"Is this all that you want?

 "Mmm.

"Okay."

Nathan pushed the trolley to the cashier counter and pay. He pays with his black card. They walk out of the supermarket with bags of groceries. They put the groceries in the backseat and then get into the car. 

"Sir, buy a bouquet of roses for Miss!

Nathan saw a little girl holding a flower basket of red roses a little distance from his car. He waves to the girl to come over. The girl ran quickly to him. He took out some bills in his wallet and gave them to her.

Is this enough money to buy all of these flowers? 

"More than enough, Sir!

The girl returns some of the bills to Nathan.

"It's all for you; take it and go home quick. It's cold outside."

"Thank you, Sir! Miss!

The girl quickly ran away happily and went home. 

Sophia took the bouquet Nathan gave to her. She smells them, and her eyes fell on her handsome face.

"I like it! no, I love it! "Thank you, Nate," while smiling happily. 

"Anything for you as long as your happy." 

Nathan looked at her holding her hand, wrapped her small hand, and intertwined their fingers together. "You have met the Pres. of Ferrell Group earlier?

"Oh, his James Ferrell, I wonder; why Hannah rejected him he's not bad anyway."

"Why did you also reject him?

"He's not you, and your most handsome than him, and he didn't have an ab that I'm dying for."

"So shameless," Nathan laughs loudly. 

"I don't like him. To me, the first time we meet, I knew it's you." "There's something in you that I can't explain." "I felt like I was spellbound by you every time I looked into your eyes." 

"I saw my reflection in your eyes."

"I felt it, too; if I didn't see you in a day, I felt like my day is not complete."

It was five pm when they arrived home. They quickly wash all the ingredients needed and put the rest in the fridge. Nathan cooked Chinese cuisine like "Cantonese chicken soup, sweet and sour fish, and vegetable fried rice." 

Sophia cooked "chicken adobo and seafood in coconut milk with vegetables." 

Nathan was cooking the soup when the doorbell rings. 

Sophia opened the door, and it was her two best friends Liz and Nancy.

"Hi! Girl, you have to explain it to us, hah! 

"Ok, come in first, let's talk inside."

What's that smell? "It smells delicious."

Then Nathan came out from the kitchen with the apron. 

"Hi! Girls!

"Oh my! Nathan, is that you? Cuz is that really you, hahaha! I can't believe it!. Nancy said while laughing. "The legendary bachelor woman hater and the Pres. of Dyson Ltd. is now a chief? It's impossible! 

"No! it's possible now, Liz exclaimed.

The three women didn't notice that Bryan and Jack came. 

"Hi! Ladies! What are you talking about that's possible?

They explained, and they agreed. 

"It's possible indeed."

"Let's fry these two then; they didn't inform us that they were already engaged if not for my staff gossiping." "I didn't know that it was Sophia and Nathan who's in the headline," Nancy retort.

"Yeah, same for me. As soon as I arrived at the airport, my secretary was gossiping about the proposal that was on the headlines." "As I saw Nathan hugging the mystery woman and was hiding her face, I know it's Sophia."

"Girls, please help me set the table," Sophia cut Liz.

They continue talking in the kitchen.

"So girl, tell us, did you two do it already?

"Did you give it to him? 

"You two are living together now."

Is he good in bed? 

"Hey!  What are you two talking about?

"He did not want our first time to happen without a blessing, so we didn't do it, ok." "He said he wants us to get married first." "Before going to the next step. Satisfied!

"Although men have needs, Nathan never initiated to touch me." Liz and Nancy squeak.

"He's a true virtuous gentleman."

As soon as the three women left, Jack speaks, 

Bro, it's true in the news? Do you propose to Sophia?

"Yeah, Why? 

"No wonder you guard her well; she's a nice catch. Your two brains in Dyson Ltd. the company will continue to rise higher." 

"If I haven't proposed to her, someone snatches her from me." 

Who? 

"Her mother wants her to marry the Pres. of Ferrell Group."

"I heard that the Hankey Group was in crisis recently," Bryan says.

"Grandpa helps Hankey Group; he said he would announce the collaboration on the birthday of Sophia's grandfather." "But I feel like the older man planned; they wanted me and Sophia's to be there," Nathan says.

"We also both received an invitation that was next week. I think both of your grandfathers announce the union of the two families on that day," Jack says.

Then Sophia came.

"Guy,'s let's have dinner!

"Nathan cooks Chinese dishes, and I cook Filipino dishes." "Try it. It's both delicious."

 "Mmm, it's so tasty this seafood Sophia, did you put cream on it? Jack asks.

Sophia answer no, it's coconut milk, and the pumpkin helps make it creamy."

Do you also love seafood, Jack? 

"Yes, we were Bryan and me but not Nathan; he's not fond of it."

After eating, we all drink wine.

"Congratulations to Sophia and Nathan, cheers!! 

"And to the success of the launch!

"So when is the wedding? 

"It's on the twenty-eighth of next month, and Sophia wants to have a military wedding," Nathan explains. "It's too far; why not register your married first and have a wedding ceremony later," Bryan says.

"Besides, you are living together."

The two woman laughs "Hahaha! nice idea, Bry."

They continue to eat and drink happily. The three guys drunk too much, the two woman drives them home. Sophia cleans the kitchen and prepares the food for breakfast, and throws the trash. 

While Nathan had a shower, when Sophia enters the bedroom, Nathan was already sleeping drunk. Sophia saw that his hair was still wet. She gets the hairdryer and blows dry his hair. She took a shower and slip into the cover and sleep beside him. Nathan moves his arm into Sophia's waist, sniffs her neck, and hugs her close to him.
