(Officer Robbin’s POV)
Me, Millie and Tristan walk in, greeted by a heartbreaking scene. My heart goes out to these kids knowing they will never get to know their mother and they probably won’t remember her after this.
“Hey,” Millie said softly, kneeling down to the kids' level. Do you wanna go outside? It will be safer out there you can sit in my cruiser. You would like that.
“Y-Yes please” the little girl squeaked out.
“Ok me and my partner will walk you out” she says gesturing to Tristan who was standing nearby.
Me and Tristan gently helped the kids stand up and tried to block them from looking over at their dead mother covered in blood.
Tristan gave me a thumbs up indicating I can continue the investigation while he talked to the witnesses outside.
With a heavy sigh I turned and looked back at the body, my eyes widened.
There next to Rhea on either side of written in her blood was two Xs. I looked up on the wall in big red letters.

GODDAMNIT!
I yelled and quickly covered my mouth remembering there were kids outside. S-s**t I said softly. Tristan barged in hearing my scream.
F-f**k he said in a shaky tone looking at the blood on the ground and on the wall.
This is definitely bigger than we thought. This is the first murder X has committed within the timespan of his return.
Which made us both think he has been back.
Tristan pulled out his gun combing the house.
POLICE IF THERE IS ANYONE IN THIS HOUSE COME OUT WITH YOUR HANDS UP
Silence
Which means that the killer had done this earlier and the caller probably didn’t even know until it was too late.
While Tristan combed the entire house. I began snapping pictures with my phone for evidence.
(Millie’s POV)
I stood outside gathering as much information as I could from the witnesses.
Do you know if they have a dad, aunt or some type of relative in the area?
Witness 1: they had a dad but he disappeared when they were 2 years old.
This was news to me their dad had disappeared?
And on top of that they found their mother dead alone…
