Chapter 1
"It's been three years. This is my third birthday on this wretched island. When will someone come to rescue me?" As the setting sun cast its golden rays over a deserted island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, a wild-looking man sat by a campfire outside his wooden hut.
He made a wish over his grilled fish, "I've been hoping for this for three years, but I still wish I could leave this forsaken island soon or at least have some company. Living alone on an island is just too boring!"
Three years ago, a plane crash stranded Charlie Wade and other survivors on this island.
Three years later, Charlie was the only one left.
During those years, Charlie spent every day desperately thinking about how to escape and survive. He tried everything he could but eventually realized that, aside from praying for a miracle, there was nothing else he could do.
Just as his wish ended, a sudden thunderclap shook the sky, making Charlie jump in fright. Looking up, he saw a plane flying toward the island through dark clouds.
Charlie grabbed a torch and shouted excitedly at the plane, "Oh God, my wish came true! Someone's finally coming to rescue me! Save me! Oh my God! I can finally escape this cursed island. God hasn't abandoned me after all..."
While Charlie danced joyfully, a blue bolt of lightning suddenly struck the plane's wing. The passenger aircraft burst into flames and began descending toward the island.
"D*mn it! Another crash!" Charlie's hope was instantly extinguished by reality. But the crashing plane meant that, just like three years ago, the island would soon welcome a new batch of survivors and abundant supplies.
"Whether it's saving people or collecting supplies, I need to check it out!" Charlie patted his large hound on the head. "Lucky, guard the house. I'll be right back!" With that, his agile figure disappeared into the dense forest, quickly heading toward the crash site.
The plane had broken apart, scattering debris and passengers across the island. Along the way, Charlie came across numerous dismembered bodies. But after three years on the island, such sights no longer fazed him. Instead, he focused on collecting anything useful from the corpses.
Charlie picked up a severed arm from the ground. "This watch is nice. I'll put it in the warehouse as decoration. These shoes fit perfectly, but too bad there's only one. Where did the other leg go? A power bank? Perfect! Electricity is exactly what I need right now!"
As Charlie continued toward the coast, scavenging items from the bodies along the way, night fell quickly. His flashlight beam landed on a tree branch, where someone was caught in the branches.
It was an Asian woman. Her long legs were clad in torn stockings, revealing faint red marks. Her skirt was lifted, exposing what lay beneath, and her blouse seemed too small for her, as her impressive chest strained against the buttons.
This scene, typically seen only on porn websites, now appeared before Charlie. However, instead of following the usual "plot," Charlie approached the woman to check if she was still alive.
The flashlight beam hit her face, and she instinctively raised her hand to block it. Peeking through her fingers, she saw a strange man crouching in front of her.
"No!" Amanda Martin screamed and began struggling violently. Charlie immediately drew the machete from his waist, wary of the survivor before him.
Three years of island life had taught him not to trust strangers too quickly.
"Who are you? I was on the plane... What happened? Where am I?" Amanda's English carried a noticeable accent.
Charlie turned off his flashlight and pointed toward the distant fire. "The plane you mentioned is burning over there. As for where this is, I don't know its name. All I can tell you is that this is an isolated island, and there's no chance of rescue."
"No! It's impossible! You must be lying!" Amanda screamed hysterically, unable to accept the sudden turn of events.
"Alright, save your energy. As for whether I'm lying or not, the branch in your stomach can tell you the answer. I suggest you calm down. I can't tell if you're injured, and moving around might make it worse," Charlie suggested.
Amanda looked at her abdomen, where the tree branch scraped painfully against her skin. Suspended in the air, she finally felt fear and shouted at Charlie, "What are you waiting for? Help me!"
"That's exactly what I'm doing!" Charlie grumbled but was secretly glad to see a new survivor.
He tied a rope to the branch and used gravity to pull it open. Amanda, caught in the middle, slid down, and just before she hit the ground, Charlie caught her.
The two locked eyes for a moment, but a second later, Amanda pushed Charlie away in disgust. "What are you doing? Don't touch me! If we were in Korea, I'd have the police throw you in jail!"
