It was approximately 11:42 P.M. I was pacing my room back and forth unsure if this was what I really wanted to risk my life doing. Who knows what Hunter could have in store for me next.
Pull yourself together, Ryleigh. This is our only chance to get our revenge.
With a few more motivational thoughts and minor panic attacks, I was finally ready to do it. Or at least I think I am...
I mean, what's the worst that could happen?
I could exit my room and walk downstairs, walk us the front door like any other normal person would do, yet risk the chance of my crazy over-protective parents catching me in action, which is not something I'd like to explain to them.
Great, just great.
Now how am I suppose to pull all of this off if I can't even get out of my own house without being caught?
I sighed, taking a seat at the foot of my bed to relax.
And that's when it dawned on me. The window!
My window was only a couple of feet away from mine. If I could just somehow climb out of my window and into his without waking up Sleeping Beauty himself, do what I have to do and get out of there before something goes terribly wrong, which for my luck it probably would, or if he wakes up, and I find myself in more trouble than what I began with.
What if I get caught and go to jail? People get arrested from this kind of stuff!
Stop overthinking everything, Ryleigh.
Taking one more deep breath, possibly my last, I approached my window, pushing open both of my curtains to reveal Hunter's room through his window next door where he lied on his king-sized bed, sound asleep.
Luckily, his window was cracked open slightly, making my job a little easier.
I opened my window, taking a seat on the window ledge as I threw both legs out of the window. I reached over, pushing open his window before making a leap of faith, tumbling into his room in the most not smooth way.
Already, my plan wasn't going correctly, as he stirred in his sleep. I sat still on his floor where I landed, praying that he would not wake up.
Luckily, he fell right back asleep. I let out a sigh of relief, as I stood up and tiptoed over to his bed.
And that's when I saw something pink sparkle on his nightstand. My journal!
I grabbed it, hiding it in my jacket as I examined Hunter.
And that's when I saw his sleeping, shirtless body up close as his face was squished against his pillow.
It's now or never, Ryleigh...
I pulled out the permanent marker from my back pocket, popping off the cap as I took the ink to his face.
This was it! I couldn't believe I was about to get my revenge on Hunter after all these years!
That was until my phone began ringing in my back pocket.
Shit, s**t, s**t!
Hunter began stirring from his sleep once again until his eyes were fully opened. "Ryleigh?" He questioned with his hoarse voice.
I turned off my phone, but it was too late now, he was awake, and was examining the black marker in my right hand.
Everything was going so wrong right now!
He smirks. "Well, well, well. Look what we have here. Is young, naïve Ryleigh trying to prank me?" He sits up, leaning against the back of his bed with his hands intertwined behind his head.
I tried to come up with an excuse but failed. Horribly. "No...I just came here to..."
"Look, if you want to have s*x with me all you had to do was ask." He winks.
I cringe, throwing the capped marker at him. "This is so not fair!"
"What's not fair, kitten?" He questions, raising an eyebrow.
"Why do you pull all these pranks on me? Why not anyone else?" I continue to question, folding my arms over my chest.
He shrugs. "You're an easy target. Plus, you're adorable when you're angry."
"I'd rather die than ever like you like that, Hunter." I spit, furrowing my eyebrows towards him.
He chuckles. "Sure you would. We both know you like me."
"In your dreams," I reply.
"Oh trust me, kitten. I can be in yours." He winks, flirtatiously as a smirk crept onto his perfectly plump lips.
I could tell this wasn't going to be the end of anything. For all I know, I need to watch my back from the sexy devil himself.
