Returning to the hectic routine of Robert, a businessman leading 10 branches of thriving companies, all at the peak of their success.
Aside from being an Alpha, he is also an influential and exceptional individual among humans.
Robert employs approximately 2,400 staff in his textile companies spread across Indonesia. Most of his employees are humans, along with members of his pack who have adapted to human environments over the years.
Today, in his office, Robert is visited by an Omega who is fiercely loyal to him.
“You seem to have forgotten your purpose, Robert. We need to find the Luna of the Wolf Clan. But look at you now—falling in love with that human?”
Robert was slightly sensitive to the question because he had been trying to find Luna. However, this time, everything had already fallen apart.
“After that full moon night, didn’t I fail to bring Luna back into my arms? I’ll need another 1,000 years to marry her, won’t I? Besides, we don’t even know where she is now. If I or you knew her location, we wouldn’t have captured the wrong person,” he explained.
“But you shouldn’t have given that woman a place in our ward either.”
“What do you mean?”
“Herlin will only bring new problems for us,” the servant continued.
“Herlin knows nothing! She’s just a victim of our mission. What do you mean by speaking like that?” he snapped angrily.
“Are you in love with her?”
Robert fell silent.
“After mingling with humans and living for thousands of years, I hope you still remember your identity as the Alpha of the Wolf Clan, Robert!” the Omega asserted firmly.
Robert could only let out a heavy sigh, unable to respond with even a single word.
In the afternoon, when Robert returned home, he went to see Herlin in her room.
Robert found Herlin arguing with her servant.
"I don't like this kind of food. Can't you let me cook for myself? The food you serve doesn't suit my taste," she said.
Hearing that, Robert approached.
"Do you need to eat outside?"
Herlin turned around with a radiant smile.
"Robert, you're back?"
Herlin got off the bed and approached the man.
"Why are you so eager to cook?"
"Because the food your servants prepare doesn't suit my taste," she replied.
Robert asked the servant to leave.
"Honestly, the servants here never cook. But since you're here today, they might have been forced to try. That's probably why the food isn't good," he explained.
"Are all your Omegas also werewolves?"
Robert nodded.
"Why aren't they wild? Don’t they want to devour me?"
"Do you want to be eaten by them?"
Herlin chuckled.
"That's not it, Robert. I just can't believe that werewolves can be so calm and incapable of harming humans."
"Who said they can't? They definitely can! But we only become ferocious when humans attack us first!"
"Are werewolves afraid of humans?"
"We're not afraid. It's more about maintaining peace. This world is 50% humans, 20% werewolves, 15% vampires, and 15% other creatures," he explained.
"Where did you get this data?"
"From my observations over thousands of years. But the world sees Earth as only consisting of 50% humans and 50% animals."
Herlin could only listen and nod in understanding.
"And I just learned this when I turned 30," she replied. Robert gave a faint smile.
"Come on. Do you want to go with me?"
"Of course. I'm starving."
The city appeared a bit gloomy, as it had just been hit by rain. The streets were still wet, and the weather was cold.
"Herlin, it would be better if we went back. This weather makes me hesitant to take you outside," he said.
"Why?"
"Do you remember? When you were taken by the vampires that time?"
"Yes?"
"Do you know why they choose to live in dense forests?"
Herlin remained silent, staring into Robert's eyes.
"Because they fear the sun. And look at the weather now. It's overcast. The sun is hidden behind the clouds, so the vampires will roam here," he said.
"If they're roaming around, why does it still feel safe?"
"Because what they're after isn’t humans, but me. And you! You’re the only human who’s been contaminated by me. Indirectly, they’ll easily catch the scent of your body," he explained.
"Robert, I trust you. You’ll always protect me, right? I’m not afraid of anything as long as I’m with you."
Robert gazed into Herlin’s eyes sharply.
"Herlin, you don’t understand the danger of being mixed with me."
"What is it?"
"Just forget it..."
They still made time to eat at Herlin's favorite restaurant.
After about 15 minutes of eating together, Herlin excused herself to go to the restroom.
However, the restroom in the hotel was located beyond a narrow and slightly dark hallway.
Herlin decided to go alone, without thinking about any fear.
At the end of the hallway, someone ambushed her.
Startled, Herlin tried to run.
A tall man with a pale face and cold body chased after her.
It seemed like a group of vampires was targeting Herlin and Robert.
Elsewhere, Robert sensed that Herlin had been gone too long, so he followed her.
At the end of the narrow hallway, Robert found a torn piece of Herlin's clothing. He howled like a wolf, furious that she had been taken again by the vampires.
Robert should have realized from the beginning that bringing Herlin into his life would endanger her.
Meanwhile, Herlin was taken by the evil vampires to their hideout but was intercepted by another man with equally red eyes, though his demeanor was friendlier.
His name was Bryan, a vampire who does not thirst for human blood.
He snatched Herlin from Thomas, leading to a fight in the vampire zone.
Herlin, who could only surrender, was caught in the struggle and nearly traumatized by the situation.
"Come with me," the man said.
He led Herlin to a place.
It was a somewhat modern building located on the edge of a forest, where he seemed to live alone.
"Thank you for saving me, but I must return to Robert," Herlin said.
"Robert? What is your relationship with Robert?"
"I don’t even know what my relationship or status with Robert is. All I know is that I’m connected to him now."
"Can I leave now?"
"Why are you in such a hurry? Don’t be afraid. I’m not an evil vampire, and I don’t drink human blood."
"It does seem that way. If I may ask, what’s your name?"
"Bryan."
"Your name is lovely."
"I know you’re not a werewolf. I can smell your human blood. How are you connected to Robert?"
"It’s a bit of a long story. Even I didn’t expect this to happen to me."
"That night, Robert’s people brought me to his pack."
"They thought I was the Luna destined for him."
"But they were wrong."
"If you’re not the Luna, then where is Robert’s mate now?"
Herlin could only shake her head and shrug, indicating she didn’t know.
"I know you’re human. Aren’t you afraid of mingling with werewolves and vampires?"
"Honestly, I’m confused by this new situation. But believe me, my previous life was far more painful and terrifying."
"Why?"
"What’s more sorrowful than living alone in this world and struggling to stay strong without anyone's support?"
Bryan looked at her for a moment and said,
"I’ve also lived alone all my life, and I never said my life was painful."
Herlin froze, feeling awkward in front of the man.
"Do you want something to eat?" he asked.
"No, I just want to go back to Robert," she replied.
