Chapter 8: Goodbyes
The next morning, Morgan and Megan were traveling back along the road that had only yesterday brought them face to face with their heritage. Morgan had just finished telling Megan what had transpired when he’d gone to see Great Eagle and then met James in the hut.
“Holy cow! There’s so much more to this than I ever could have imagined. What are you going to do?” she asked.
“I’m not sure. Being there with James and our new family and meeting Great Eagle—it was almost too much to take in. I’m pretty much blown away by it all. I’m mystified by this task James and I are supposed to undertake to govern the clan, overwhelmed by it actually. And then there’s this commitment James and I are supposed to make to each other.”
“What about Nate? You called him, didn’t you?”
