Chapter 7: The Prophecy
After dinner that night, during which James sat in silence staring across the table at him, Morgan got the opportunity to speak with Robert.
Robert came up to Morgan as the dinner dishes were being cleared and, in that mysterious way of seeming to know things without being told, said, “You want to talk with me. Come, let us walk.”
James started to follow Morgan and Robert.
“No,” Robert said gently. “He will come back. Be ready.”
Morgan felt James’s eyes follow them as Morgan and Robert left the room.
Once outside, Robert and Morgan followed a path that led them past a group of buildings and into the forest. It was dusk.
