The "Secret" Spy

Lilly had barley kept herself from blubbering incoherent sentences. Thorn was very patient with her, just letting her sit and sip water until she finally calmed down. ~Thorn's P.O.V~ "Now, what are you talking about?" I asked moderately confused. "Well, I made a deal with the Shaman, and I feel like im betraying my pack with it, but I mean, I do want to find my mate, but I didn't mean..." Lilly started frantically again and I put his hand up to stop her as he took in a deep breath, if this was a deal with the Shaman...my mind took me back about the curse she just put on me, she said it can be activated at her will. I figured to at least think this through, who knows exactly how angry the Shaman is? "Okay Lilly, deep breaths," I said while holding her shoulders. "Listen, you can tell me about whatever deal you made, but I think we should have the Shaman in here too...or at least I can tell her you told me later, I don't want you involved in all this bad air with the Shaman and the Alphas." She looked up at me confused, "Don't worry about details I guess...lets just get on with it." I sat back in my chair and waited for her to continue. "Okay, well," she started, "she asked me to, well, like, look out, see if you were calling anyone to let them know shes here, things like that, its like shes paranoid about being here." "Well." Lilly continued, "she offered to find my mate and I just couldn't say no to that but after thinking, I did something bad right? I shouldn't have fallen for that?" She started to cry again, she's so sensitive. "No, you didn't do anything wrong, she wouldn't lie to you and I bet she even already found your mate." I said with a smile, trying to cheer her up. "All she wants right now is to feel protected and not betrayed, you see, something happened to her that was at the fault of all of the council. She did something to protect us, and we betrayed her. Now, while I'm on her side...there are a few packs who think she needs to be....captured and contained with in a pack to keep her, as they say, under control." I took a breath, "I think she knows this, and she trusts you to listen around and make sure she doesn't have to vanish again while she's here. However, coming to tell me might make her mad if she finds out, so the best thing to do would be to tell her. You aren't betraying your pack, you're being loyal to a friend, and best part she will find your mate." I gave her a kiss on the head when something caught my eye I hadn't noticed before. A spiritual wolf, she knows, she was watching this whole time. Does the Shaman think shes been betrayed now? What will she do to Lilly? I watched as the wolf held my gaze for a moment then slipped through the walls.I knew it would be back to the Shaman before I could even unlock my door. "Lilly I think it's time for you to head to bed, you're okay, no one is mad at you." I helped her out of the chair and to the door, opening it, to my surprise she wasn't there...Lilly hugged me and went down the stairs to her room. I on the other hand, walked up to where the Shaman was. It was too quiet for me, but I had to stand my ground and make sure she didn't attack the pack. Her door was already open, and she was sitting on the bed. ~Shaman's P.O.V~ My wolves came back to me after what I saw through them, I knew Thorn was going to come up, I went ahead and opened the door slightly, and sat back on the bed. I knew Lilly would tell him, it was eating her up. She was right though, I want to know I don't have to hide here, I have things to plan, a war to start, and people whom I wish to have revenge on. I heard Thorn close his office door and startup the stairs, he seemed to take his slow time getting up here, but i finally heard the door push open. "Shaman?" He said softly, "please don't be angry with Lilly, she has a pack bond." He stopped mid word, realizing what he said was a little offensive, since I don't have a pack or even a mate, nothing to bond me to anything except creature and crow. "I'm not angry with her, I knew she would tell you." There was a long moment of silence in the room, Thorn was breathing heavy, almost like he thought he would get attacked. I couldn't understand a pack bond though, and I knew it. "Shaman, I am on your side, no matter what you need, I will be there for you, even if you didn't curse me and even though you did. I'm not doing this to get rid of the curse I want to get your forgiveness for the role I played in your.." he lost his speech, "umm right." He closed the door behind him. I could only guess he was trying to make a stand of alliance, I'm sure if I could have seen him it would have been funny, still. I went to the door and locked it, laying back down on the bed, I was tired again, but the air was so stiff and I wanted the free flowing air of my windows open. Just because Thorn and Lilly were on my side doesn't mean that another pack member wasn't going to run to Richard and tell him I was here. I still have to be careful and watch what happens while I'm around. Thankfully I found sleep, a horrible restless sleep.
