A Betrayal?

Moments pasted as she contemplated the offer I made to her, I could feel herself being torn apart with the loyalty she  owed to her pack and the need of finally finding her true mate.  I could smell her guilt as she slowly let herself fall to the floor, then stood up, and paced around a bit. Her thoughts were almost out loud as she paced around. Lilly finally sat down on the bed, "Okay, I'll do it, but I want to know who my mate is soon, please? Where they are, who they are, how will they treat me? I'm terrified of what Grace went through, I know shes the Luna and my friend but being rejected twice, and....hurt the way she was..." Lilly trailed off, but I got her point. "I'll look into your life, don't worry, when have I ever misguided you, or put you in a position to get hurt in that way?" Lilly half sob laughed, and responded with "Never." She then gave me a hug, "so how does this work?" she asked. "I can find him tonight if you give me a lock of your hair or something personal that holds real meaning to you." I heard a low groan and felt a piece of hair wrapped around my hand. "Don't lose it please." Lilly asked, she was trembling, and who wouldn't, to her this was like a small child going against their father figure for some candy. But in reality, this would be her mate, the one who should protect her forever, not just some sweet treat that she fears getting reprimanded for. "I won't lose it, but right now I need to sleep, and I want the door locked, just knock if you hear anything about what Thorn is doing?" I heard Lilly sigh, "Yeah I'll tell you." She left the room, and I made sure the door was double locked, I wouldn't be taking any chances when it came down to this, too many people would be out for me right now, and if Thorn told them where I was, they would come here and start a war with me again. I laid on the bed, I could hear the whispers in the castle of "is the Shaman here again?" or "I thought Thorn wouldn't let her come back?" whispers from people who didn't know the full truth, the energy of the place was buzzing around, exited with gossip; it made it very hard to sleep.  Eventually it boiled down to me putting up what could only be described as a sound proof barrier, something I only recently developed when I needed sleep and my stupid bird wouldn't shut up. The downside is if Lilly had to tell me something I'd never hear it, but it was a chance I was willing to take, since it was probably only midday in actuality, being blind I don't have the best time keeping anymore. I don't know how long I slept, but I woke refreshed, and decided that it was time to see what was going on several smells hit all at once, from food to cleaning detergents. I knew it had been past lunch, because I smelled that coming to my room, so it must be near dusk, and the maids cleaned during the day and the food would be prepared for dinner. It was a perfect time to go ahead and see who Lilly would be mated with, and possibly look around the castle a bit....I might be blind but my wolves weren't, and being in a room alone makes it easier to not get killed while doing the ritual. I went to the drawer I had Lilly's hair in and went back to the bed, sitting, letting the aura take over and slipping into a vision. It wasn't any of the council's pack members, a weaker pack that was off to the west inside a mountain, their pack was maybe fifty members large and most of their members were old, Lilly's mate was the youngest of them, but still older than her, he seemed very rough and on a first glance you'd think he would punch you in your face and you'd be down for days, but other than that he was decent looking, and leaps and bounds better than someone who would abuse her. My vision took me farther into what their life would be, she would get pregnant and he would tend to her needs fully, but she would long for her pack again, her friends, and he would leave his pack, they will die out, but he would give anything to make her happy, without a question or doubt in his mind. The vision threw me back on the bed and I was laying down, my spiritual wolves were near, watching, waiting for a command. At a motion of my hand they bounded through the walls and around the castle, they weren't looking for anything particular. I was laying back, seeing through them, until one made it's way to Thorn's office and with that a little eaves dropping was in order. Both the wolves sat in the same spot of the room, hidden but still able to pick up the conversation going on and see everything happening. Lilly had just walked into Thorn's office, she had a tray of food for him, as she set it down on his desk, she said "I have something I need to talk to you about." "Oh?" Thorn said "Yeah, about the Shaman, she kind of made me an offer, and I'm not supposed to tell you I'm sure, but I need to, I feel like a child disrespecting their parent or something, I just can't keep it all in." Lilly fell to the floor and started crying. "Its not like she threatened or tried to hurt me, but I can't keep secrets well." She said through sobs. Thorn picked her up and set her in the chair across his desk, and locked the door, "So tell me what this secret is?" He asked sitting back in his chair.
