The Alpha’s Forgotten mate

Genevieve POV We were taking stroll in the forest and I couldn’t believe when I heard the cries of a baby. I immediately started walking towards the sound followed by my mate . After a few seconds the cry got louder. Due to our advanced sense of hearing we were able to locate the baby. My mate pulled the baby from the tree trunk and passed it to me . I was mesmerized by its fair skin and silver hair. Baby was wrapped in a little red blanket with a white crescent moon decorating it, and it was absolutely adorable. I always wanted a daughter and now I feel the moon goddess has bestowed her kindness on us. I had two older sons and this baby girl was a blessing to our family. I was quick to accept her and stated cradling it against my chest and softly murmured “ it’s ok my little sweety, we are here and we are going to take good care of you” “Honey, this baby probably be a human for all we know” Keith murmured. Keith is my husband and my mate. We are happily married and living with our two sons, Magnus and Michael, who are 8 and 4 years old. “We will talk to my witch cousin and find out, but for now we need to fill her stomach and care about this sweet little thing” I stated with heir of authority. Kieth looked around the tree to find any clue about the baby. We could make out the rouge scent and Kieth immediately signed to get back to our territory. I quickly nodded my head in agreement and made our way back to our cabin. We were living in a small hill in the corner or a forest which was separated from the rest of the forest by a huge river. Our territory lived in harmony with different kind of shapeshifters. I am a were-cat whereas Keith is were-wolf. We did not find a pack which would welcome both the species. It was blessed by an enchantress so as to no shape-shifter could enter our territory with an evil mind. As soon as we entered, I placed the baby on my bed and called for my sons. They came running and saw the baby and immediately got conned to her. She opened her big blue eyes and chuckled at my sons. There were no bounds to my sons' happiness and they accepted her as their sister. When my sons asked me her name , I named her as Sarah. “Such a beautiful name. It suits her” Keith commented. Sarah blinked her big blue eyes and smiled at us, showing the sign of her acceptance. My kids were over joyed. We sent out a word to our witch cousin Leena about Sarah and she teleported herself inside our cabin. She took the baby in her arms and looked into her eyes. Immediately, Leena’s eyes turned all white with light emitting out of it . “This child is no ordinary one , she is destined for a great cause for she choose the right path , else all spices will be wiped out. She is the purest of the pure of all blood and is a direct descendant of Selene herself. Oh great couple you have been given the great opportunity to serve our goddess by raising her child. Treat her like a royalty as she is the one with royal blood" and the light dims from Leena’s eyes and changes back to normal color. I gasped when hearing about the prophecy and took an oath to care for and protect the child as my own. I just have to keep her protected from rogues. And as for the prophecy, we decided to keep it a secret so that no one would take advantage of this sweet little beautiful child . I sat on a rocking chair with the child and went back and forth with deep thought. Keith was looking at us with so much love . When I looked at him, I understood that he would keep me , my family and the goddess’s child from any harm to befall. Sarah fell asleep, and I stood with her still in my arms and went towards our needed room . Keith had already put together -Michael’s old cradle in place and I placed Sarah in it. She looked just like she belonged here, with us and in our house. She looked like an angel in her crib. My little angle and she will be treated like a princess. Keith agreed with me smiling. We went to sleep agreeing to protect and raise the beautiful girl along with our sons . We silently prayed for moon goddess and thanking her for choosing us.
