CULLEN . "They dare to touch my mate?" His wolf growled in anger. He doesn't like the fact that the wolf is taken in with this woman. He's not even interested so why is he? He thought that he had already made a pact with his wolf and cougar that he doesn't want a mate so just how was she able to stir them awake? He doesn't like this at all. Die! They will all Die!!! Was the only statement his wolf was chanting repeatedly as he stared as his mate getting dragged forcefully into the car. His wolf was acting on basic instincts now and Cullen took deep breaths in an attempt to still his anger and control his emotions from spiralling out of control. He walked up to the men in dressed in black and for some reason, they smelt familiar. This is definitely a smell that he has come across but he is too scattered to think about where he had smelt it. "Let her go" he spoke in an uninterested manner. "You should know that i do not like repeating myself so save me the time and trouble of doing so" The men turned to look at the huge man who had very much dominated their space. "Get out or we'll make you." one of the men said as a corked his gun and pointed it at Cullen. He rolled his eyes at their feeble attempt to apprehend him. "Let me go!" Adria snorted as she tried to force herself away from her grip. The scorn edged on Cullen's face would've been funny if it was someone else in her position but then she isn't just anyone. She is his mate. Adria bit the hands of the man that held her captive as she made her escape to hide behind the back of her rescuer. The man in question who was bitten cried out in pain as blood oozed out from the place where he had just been bitten. "You slutty b***h!" The other man roared in anger and tried to raise his hands at Cullen but he caught it midway through the air and snapped his fingers which cracked his bones. He cried out in pain from the impact as he stared at his hands that had gotten a new shape thanks to this annoying looking man. The other guy who saw this fired his gun at Cullen but was left speechless he he didn't budge or fall to the ground. The bullet hit him alright but how is he not on the ground? "f**k!" he groaned when he realized that he was now in deep s**t. He tried to run away but Cullen picked him up with one hand and threw him away. Adria gasped from behind him. The hell! Words couldn't describe what she just saw. He just picked him up like he weighed nothing and threw him away like garbage thrown into the dumpster. He crashed and hit his head on the bonnet of the car. Adria's jaw went slack at the sight in front of her. Her jaw was not the only one hanging but the guy that crashed his head on the car as well. Even his eyes were popping out of their sockets. On a good day, Cullen would've let them go but they touched his mate. They laid their filthy hands on her. The thought of it stirred his wolf again. He walked up to the other guy. "I told you to let her go because I do not like repeating myself but you chose to defy me" He finished his statement with a growl and snapped the head of the guy that was already lying half dead on the bonnet of the car. "Let this be a warning to anyone who dares to come back after me or anyone else" the guy quickly rushed into his car and sped off in an instant. Adria's wolf purred in content at how strong her mate is. Is he also a wolf too? If he was then how is his here and where is his pack? She burped loudly. She should've known that Aria would try to do something stupid. She shouldn't have taken that drink when she offered it. She would've been dead meat if it wasn't for her knight in shining armor that had just saved her ass. Cullen turned to look at the woman who has caused all this rukus in the first place. "You are careless female" Alpha Cullen growled in anger as his eyes stared at the wounded woman in contempt. Coming to the club on a friday night was all Degar's idea. He never wanted to step his foot in this filthy place but Degar insisted that he needed to let off some steam after all the work they had done the whole week. This is why you never let Degar talk you into doing anything. He had the mind of a child and it always seemed to put him in compromising situations. He wanted to have a peaceful weekend but now his night has been spent fighting wolfhunters to rescue a drunk, foolish and wounded female. Cullen noticed the bruise on her knee and tried to offer help but she kept on taking receding steps. She knows he is her mate but what if he tries to do worse that than what the other guys intended to do? She was in the non-changeling world after all and she had heard wild stories about them. "Let me go" Adria groaned trying to push herself away from this giant of a man. Damn it. She's drunk out of her mind. Why did she sneak off with Aria to come here? And the useless girl left her for dead. Adria raised her head to look at the face of her rescuer. Her eyes are blurry so she cannot make out his facial features but for some reason, her wolf is delighted. Why is she excited to meet someone as rude and demeaning as him? Is he her mate? And why is he here of all places? She's grateful that he saved her but he has been raining insults on her and she doesn't like it. He's almost like another version of Aria, only meaner and his face is in a frown which almost made her squirm in fright. Cullen can't ignore the fact that for the first time in thirty years, his wolf is excited which only means that he has found his mate. And he can't believe that it's this crazy woman standing in front of him. He scoffed "Foolish female" Adria slurred and fell to the ground as she kept on muttering strange things that he couldn't understand. Cullen looked at her in disdain. Yes, the woman is undeniably beautiful. She had long brunette hair and her lips are oval shaped. Staring at her is tempting and for some reason, he is already tempted. He ignored his already agitated wolf and proceeded to pick up the dead bodies of the men that he had killed to dispose. When he came back to the spot that he had left her, he found out that she was no longer there. He was supposed to go out there and look for her but sadly, he wasn't interested. He doesn't want a mate and he most definitely doesn't want any woman in his life. "My lord!" Cullen tuned In his werewolf ears and Degar's voice sprang through. He was looking for him. "Walk through the back exit Degar, I am outside" he commanded in a deep voice and a few minutes later, Degar comes rushing towards the Alpha king. "Thank goodness I found you. I have been looking everywhere for you. I thought that you had left already" Degar panted, for some reason he appears to be out of breath. Cullen studied him carefully and his wolf picked up the smell of s*x emanating from him. "Were you really looking for me Degar? Or where you busy with some other business that I should know about?" Cullen stared at him with intent as he spoke while Degar tried his best to avoid his penetrating gaze. "Forgive me my lord" "You do not have to apologize" he stated "You are an animal after all. The wolf must have needed a little skin. I just hope that the woman in question is still alive because you have a ferocious appetite." Degar wanted to laugh at that statement but refrained himself from doing so because he couldn't tell if the Alpha king was being funny or sarcastic and he doesn't want to take any chances. And speaking of ferocious appetites, he knows that Cullen's appetite for s*x is simply insatiable. He sometimes wonders how Celyn was able to put up with him without burning out. Degar's eyes roamed around Cullen's body until it landed at the injury that he had gotten from the bullet fight earlier. "What happened to your arm?" Cullen studied the wound that Degar was referring to. It wasn't deep so he was certain that he'd heal. If he was back home then he would've summoned Celyn and one night with her would've taken care of it but he wasn't home. The thought of it is already suffocating him. "I was involved in a little fight with two men who I perceived to be wolfhunters." He told him plainly as he started to walk away leaving Degar to follow. "I do not know if I'm right because I perceived a familiar scent and it's been a while since I smelt something like that but I know that it'll come to me, eventually" "They attacked you?" Degar's eyes popped out fright, completely ignoring the second remark. Why would wolfhunters attack Cullen? How did they even know where to find him? They have been very discreet ever since they arrived here and have tried their utmost best to blend in so that they don't get noticed. If he was attacked, then it only means that someone tipped them off. But who? "They attacked my mate and the wolf decided to get involved" he responded nonchalantly. "You found her?" Degar asked gleefully "This is incredible news my lord. Where is she?" Degar asked, scanning the entire premise as they walked by. He was very excited that Cullen has finally found her. "I don't know and I do not care either" Cullen brushed off the question like it meant nothing because obviously, it doesn't. Degar knew that Cullen wasn't interested in a mate and wasn't ready to be committed to one so he had already anticipated this kind of reaction from him. "You have to find her my lord." Degar pointed out. They arrived at the entrance of the club and located their car that was parked just around the corner and got in. "I do not wish to get involved with her. She is one foolish female and there's no doubt about that." "But you rescued her?" Degar was forced to ask "Isn't that you already getting involved?" Degar pressed. "The call from Velez, how did it go?" Cullen changed the topic which only means that he doesn't want to talk about the previous topic. Degar knows that the alpha king has been through enough troubles already but shouldn't he be excited that he has found his mate? Why didn't he look for her at least? What if he never sees her again? What would happen then? "It went well my lord" Degar responds as he took to the steering wheel and pulled out of the club. "They were able to find a better means to salvage the situation for the vines to thrive. If all goes well then we'll be up and running in no time" "Good" was all Cullen said before shutting his eyes briefly. He does this when he's thinking about something or doesn't want to be talked to. So much for having a master who he doesn't quite understand. At least there's one good news to celebrate for the night. He has found his mate whom he wants absolutely nothing to do with.
