ADRIA
.
Adria sluggishly walked back into the bar, her tired and weary feet almost too light to carry her body. She knew that she was drunk but she'd rather run away than end up like one of those guys that the huge scary man had beaten to a pulp.
She still couldn't believe that such a man existed. He had thrashed those men as though they were nothing. He beat them up so badly to the point that he even killed most of them.
But why did they attack her? Who were they? Did they find out about her identity? Did they somehow figure out that she was a changeling?
All these mess happened because of Aria. If she hadn't snuck out in the first place then they wouldn't be here and she wouldn't have been involved with potential killers.
Speaking of Aria, where could she have gone? Adria knew that her sister had only given her that drink because she wanted to create a rukus. Adria knew that Aria wasn't the type to stay put so what exactly is she up to now?
Forcing her way in, she scanned through the almost empty bar, she spotted the bartender wiping off the glasses. She slowly approached him, her fingers straightening the strands of her almost disheveled hair.
"Hey you! So how'd you like the club? Was it better than what you expected?" He rambled while she struggled to understand what he was talking about. "Tell me, did you have fun?" He licked his lips seductive in a flirtatious manner. Was he hitting on her?
"Club?" She mumbled to herself. It took her a while for her brain to register that he was referring to Aria. Of course, they're twins so it's only natural to mistake them for one another.
"Aria? Where is she?" Her voice came out softer than she had intended. She wasn't the one to yell or throw tantrums. It was Aria's thing, not hers.
"Who?" He eyed her curiously.
"The lady you're referring to? My twin?" She answered almost immediately, the liquor finally vanishing from her system "Where is she? Where did you take her!"
Perturbed, he pointed to the room behind her. Adria rushed in almost immediately only to receive the greatest shock of her life.
Aria was half naked kissing a strange man who fondled with her breasts and privates. She felt the sudden urge to puke. She had never walked in on her sister having s*x before. Her wolf picked up the smell of s*x instantly. How is it possible that her sister sleeps with strangers so freely without a care in the world?
"The hell!" She shrieked loudly, her legs moving instantly towards her. She pushed the almost drunk man away from her and he landed on his butt "This was your idea of a party? To have s*x with random men and drink to your hearts content to the point of getting wasted?"
Aria slurred loudly with a childish smile on her lips "Sister dearest, you missed the best part of the night. The n-night is sooooooooo beautiful" She drawled, her eyes dazed.
"How many bottles did you take?" She questioned worriedly.
"Only enough to—" She burped loudly "Oops! Sorry about that little sis. You must be sooooo angry at me right?"
"Only because you drugged me and left me all alone to die!" She queried and proceeded to adjust her clothes "Come on, let's get you out of here, there's no use in talking because you won't understand I thing I'll say anyways."
Aria pouted "But I don't want to go. The party's just getting started. Mark has promised to take me another party and I promised to get drunk in return."
Adria turned to look at the man her sister was referring to. He had already passed out cold.
"You're drunk Aria and yes, you're coming home with me whether you like it or not. The only party you're attending tonight is the one in your house with a bed in it!"
Aria sneered "No fun! You're the worst babysitter ever! I hate you!" She rambled continuously.
"The feeling is mutual. Just wait until father finds out about this. I can't believe that I got dragged into your mess!"
Discarding the used bottles, she proceeded to help her sister out of the couch. She slowly led her out of the bar till they were standing at the entrance.
"If only you'd agree to stay longer, you'd probably have found a hot guy to shag but no, you're too holy for that!" Aria mocked as she tried to steady herself. "Decent Adria who's more holier than anyone else" She sing-songed in a childlike manner.
Yeah right!
How does she begin to explain to her sister that her night was almost as wild as hers. She had not only drank alcohol but she had met a strange men who had rescued her at the brink of death. How does she begin to explain that her wolf suddenly got excited when she saw him? Those cold eyes that looked at her as though she disgusted him.
She scanned the premises to see if she could at least get a glimpse of him for the second time but he was long gone. It's not like she expected him to wait for her at the very least, not after he had killed those men that had attacked her.
The annoying man. He even had the guts to call her a 'foolish female'.
Just thinking about it had her blood boiling. She sure hopes in hell that she never comes across him anymore. She'd tell him to his face then that he was the foolish one and not her. She'd curse him so hard and give him a taste of his own medicine.
"Can we go now? I feel sleepy!" Aria announced feeling dizzy as she rested her full weight on her.
"This is why I hate babysitting you." She cussed "You never listen and now I'll have to pay for it." She grumbled begrudgingly as she walked her farther away from the bar.
When they arrived at a more secluded area, she placed her carefully on her shoulders and did a half shift before sprinting into the woods.
They arrived at the borders of their pack in no time.
"My hands..." Aria murmured incoherent words and Adria tried her very best to shush her.
"If we get caught, we're going to be in big trouble so please just stay quiet and don't utter a single word!" She warned her sternly before sneaking her into their Mansion.
"Adria?" Someone called from behind before she could complete her escape plan. She cursed herself and slowly turned to see who had caught them.
"Declan!" She voiced out awkwardly in a small voice. Declan was her father's Beta and one of the youngest and eligible men in the pack. They grew up together that sometimes, people mistook them for siblings. He was the closest thing that they had to a brother.
"Let me guess, another Aria situation?" He asked with a grin as his eyes landed on a sleeping Aria.
Adria nodded in affirmation "I promise that it was her idea. I only followed because I didn't want her to get into trouble. Please do not tell father. He would kill us and I mean literally."
"Your secret is safe with me my lady." He said with a curt bow "I will take my leave and pretend as if I never saw anything."
"Thank you!" She whispered gratefully before twisting the knob to Aria's room open.
"You owe me big time!" She huffed and threw her gently on the bed. Adria melted into the covers and dozed off almost immediately leaving Adria to proceed to her own side of the bedroom.
Taking off her clothes, she took her bath before settling into a silk nightgown.
She made for her bed to sleep but all her thoughts were occupied with images of that man that had rescued her. Who was he? And why did he choose to help her?
Did he know her? And why couldn't she stop thinking about him?
He was mean and rude to her so why did her wolf become restless when she saw him? Or maybe she didn't do the right thing by running away? Maybe she would've thanked him for rescuing her from those men. If he hadn't shown up when he did, she would've been a goner.
But then again, he didn't look like someone who wanted to be thanked. He looked scary and was built in a way that scared her.
Sitting up, she reached for her scroll that she had left earlier on the bed and decided to glance through. Maybe if she occupied herself with something else, she would finally be able to sleep.
".... Foolish Female..." His voice resonated through her ears for the second time and she angrily discarded the scroll. No way in hell would she think about him. She clicked her tongue and threw the covers over her as she tried to force herself to sleep.
