The Blinded Luna

CHAPTER TWO:

Meg’s POV:

Once I am dressed and ready to go down to breakfast, we head out of my bedroom. Daisy hooks onto my arm and we giggle at my rumbling tummy, I really want those muffins! The smell is everywhere, but it is also faded, so I’m hoping the pack have left plenty or Tabby has saved me some.

We get to the bottom of the stairs and there is a lovely balloon arch over them, black and white balloon, with a large bow with a mixture of green for Jewel Diamond and purple for Purple Star. I instantly know who is in the breakfast room and stop at the bottom stair.

“Daisy” I started and she interrupted me.

“NO, you are not going back to your room, for once you will see how many people love you. They are all here together and yes, before you ask that does include your Xander.” She laughed.

Xander is a member from Red Moon who helped me through a rough time with his mate Phillip. They even moved to Purple Star to support me, they have become surrogate fathers and I talk to them about everything. They are my go-to people, except for Daisy of course.

“I love seeing Xand and Phil, you know that, but walking in the dining hall, it’s going be chaos! You do realise I’m going to get pulled into hugs and passed from person to person right? Can’t you be me for now?” I smiled at her.

“Oh, you would love it if that could ever happen wouldn’t you? Well, it can’t so suck it up girl!” She said as she dragged me down the hall to the dining room doors.

Normally the doors are wide open and you can hear the conversations of different groups all around, of course today they were closed. I know the balloon arch was Xander’s way of saying, be aware we are all here. It gave me the chance to pull myself together to not run away at the sight of what was behind the doors.

Daisy laughed at the horror on my face, then said “Smile” as she threw the doors open.

“SURPISE!” everyone in the hall shouted and all started clapping and shouting “HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEG!”

The hall was full, decorations of white and black with the odd colours of green and purple here and there. I barely had chance to look before I was pulled into a bear grip hug and was bounced up and down.

“Xand, your squashing her! Give her here!” Phil said as another pair of arms wrapped around me. Both of them were holding me in a tight hug and Phil whispered “Be brave, it’s not for long.” They both released me and laughed at my horrified face.

“MEGGIE!” little arms wrapped around my leg and I bent down and picked up little Walda.

“Will you protect me little Waldie?” I asked her snuggling my nose into her face as she giggled.

“You are 18 now sis, you don’t get to have others protecting you!” Katie said as she side hugged me and Chloe grabbed my other side and wished me a happy birthday.

Katie and Chloe are my 13 year old sisters, they are twins and they can be troublesome, but they have learned the hard way to not break too many rules.

“Ok, let me in!” My little brother Tyler squealed, he is now 4 years old and is bossy to everyone.

I pull him into my stomach and give him a hug too, whilst still holding a giggling Walda.

“Ok, kids, you got your hugs.” My sister Ellie’s voice boomed, as she pulled me into a tight hug, Tyler squeezing out from between us and standing by Katie and Chloe. “Happy 18th birthday Meg! I can’t believe you are now an adult!” she smiled and kissed my forehead.

I cringed and she laughed “Still don’t like close contact hey? Well, you will have to just suck it up.” She smiled and took Walda from me.

“MEGGIE!” She reached back for me and Ellie stepped back.

“Oh no, Walda, Meg needs to say hi to everyone and let all say happy birthday to her too.” She laughed and headed to the large breakfast table and took a seat.

“Meg, happy birthday, don’t worry sweetheart, this won’t be too bad.” John laughed as he gave me a quick hug and shooed the kids to the table, where Ellie was sat.

A few more rounds a quick hugs and happy birthdays from, Alpha Charles, Luna Hollie, Beta Max, Beta Aria and all the parents of Alpha’s and Beta’s came, along with my surrogate grandparents Mary and Ronald, John’s mother and father. Martin and Rosemary, Ellie’s Beta’s, were next then Alpha Williams aunty Pria came and guided me to the table with Daisy and her parents too.

As we sat down and begun breakfast, I couldn’t help but notice Alpha William wasn’t here. He had been away a lot this last three months, helping with Black Lotus and Ash Storm, settling in and rebuilding. I was quite surprised he wasn’t here though, because I had spoke to him on the phone last night and he ended the call with “I will see you tomorrow Meg.”

“Greg, is Wills not back yet?” I asked his Beta. I could use first name terms because we were all close and like family.

“No, he won’t be back until later tonight, Meg.” He smiled and looked at Ellie, who nodded and continued her breakfast.

“I was on the phone with him last night and he said ‘see you tomorrow’ so I thought he meant he would be here for my birthday, but that’s ok.” I sighed and continued eating.

I had become really good friends with Alpha William in the last three years and truth be told I had a bit of crush on him. About four months ago we were playing chess in his office and I won, I jumped up and celebrated with a silly dance that we both had set the rules that we needed to do if we won. When I went to sit back down I tripped and fell onto his lap, I almost went to kiss him! I was shocked at myself and embarrassed, he is the Alpha and I was behaving like he was my boyfriend. I quickly took the thought out of my head and climbed off him apologising for falling on him and hoping he didn’t sense what I was going to do. I quickly excused myself and said I was tired and rushed to my room, where I smiled at how close I had been to him, then mortified at what I could have done!

“Well, we have a busy day for you sweetheart, so don’t worry you will see him later.” Ellie smiled at me and then to Xander.

“Oh no, I wasn’t worried, I just … wait, what do you mean a busy day?!” I sighed as I lowered my fork and looked between Ellie and Xander.

“Well, I couldn’t let you just be on your own on your 18th!” He laughed “I have arranged a tournament of sorts and games for the little ones! I promise you will love it!”

“Xand, what part of quiet run, sit by a lake and read a new book for my birthday, didn’t you understand?” I asked him sarcastically.

“I did that the last two years for you! May I remind you, I told you that I will get a big celebration done for you one year and you said no and I begged and said please let me do your 18th? Eventually you caved in and said fine, but don’t expect me to show up!” He quickly told me and I raised and eyebrow, I did remember that conversation.

“Exactly, so I will see you again soon.” I said as I stood from the table.

“Well, Xander may not expect you to turn up, but I certainly do Meg. He has put a lot of effort into today. So, please Meg for Xander and for all of us.” Phillip faked sad eyes and so did Xander knowing full well I couldn’t refuse them.

“If it means so much to you then ok!” I smiled and was lifted into the air by Xander.

“Thank you, thank you! So first things first, we are going to the lounge where all of your presents are!” He grabbed my hand and pulled me all the way to the pack lounge.
