Evie and Tessa just received an email from the Sabre Fur Prowlers, turning their request down again.
Tessa shakes her head as she walks behind her sister.
Evie storms into their father’s office holding her cell phone. “Father, can you believe this?”
Alpha Henry leans back in his chair and takes a deep breath. “Let me guess. Alpha P. Cassadine has denied your request again.”
“Yes, Father, he did. Why is this man being so difficult? You’re an Alpha. Call him and demand that he allow us into his territory.” Evie was yelling, waving her arms, and pacing in front of his desk.
Tessa c***s her head to the right and looks at her sister like she has two heads.
“Young lady, I can’t demand that young man do anything. I’m the Alpha of this pack, not his pack. Now you will just have to accept his decision and move on. By the way, I heard through a reliable source that you two found your mates and rejected them a few years back. Why would you do such a foolish thing?” He’s looking between the two of them.
Evie is looking at the wall. Tessa cut her eyes at her sister.
“Just as I thought. Evie, explain your actions. I’m positive that it was your hair-brained decision. As always, your sister will be along with it. Damn it, Tessa, why won’t you use the brain you were given? You two aren't getting any younger. Hell, your brother will more than likely give you to the first man that comes along when he’s officially the Alpha. He’s tired of all your crazy stunts, just as I am. “ He’s looking at Evie.
“Well, if we’re mated to the number one pack, then our pack rank would also go up. I also heard that the Alpha is set financially. Besides, Tessa and I deserve the best,” Evie frowns.
"Ahh, I see now you’re a gold digger and have turned your sister into one. Nice f*****g job. I swear. Get out of my sight.” He waves both of his daughters out of his office. “Wait, out of curiosity, who were the two men?” He’s looking at Evie.
Evie and Tessa lower their head. Alpha Christian and Christos, Lord of the Ghost Shadows pack.” They jump when their father hits his desk.
“Are you kidding me? Do you not know they have the largest winery in Napa Valley and the second largest pack? Get out of my sight.” He points to the door. “You sure didn’t do your homework. If you had, you would have known the Lord twins are millionaires. Wanna be gold diggers? I raised two fools. “ Henry is looking at his daughters walking out of his office. "Damn dummies."
In the hallway, Tessa is giving Evie the evil eye and yells, You lied to me and told me that Father agreed to us rejecting our mates. Hell, Evie, you even said it was his idea."
Evie pushes her against the wall. “Don’t get too damn brave and yell at me again. So what, it was my idea? Neither mother nor father had anything to do with it. I’ll never be second to anyone or anything. So get over it, and you will do as I say. Got it”, she taps the side of Tessa’s head.
Tessa nods her head. “Yeah, I got it.”
"Good. Now come on, let's find a way to get into that damn territory." Evie is walking down the hall.
"One of these days, I'm going to get the nerve up and kill that damn sister of mine," Tessa thinks while walking behind Evie.

Phoenix and Apple are walking around observing the pack training. Apple's mind keeps drifting to Piper being alone. He glances at her. “I’m worried about her too, but she’s fine. If she runs into any trouble, she’ll contact us.”
“Can’t we send some warriors to hide in the woods to be close to her? Apple catches his arm.
He shook his head. “No, this is something that Piper has to do for herself. Maybe this will help her to stop blaming herself for something that she had no control over."
"I sure hope so. Piper deserves to be happy. She has a good heart and soul. Moon Goddess, let our friend find a mate or true love soon." Apple is holding back her tears.
Phoenix hugs her. "She will, when the time is right."
Piper's mother is in the den. "Pierre, watch over our daughter. She has so much pain and anger built up inside of her. I know how she feels. I was the same way after losing you. But with her, it’s different. You and I were together for a very long time, and I had a part of you here with me. Our daughter didn’t have much time with her mate, nor did she have anything of his here with her to give her the strength to move on, finally. I mourned you for months, but her being here with me helped and still helps me to stay strong. Our little girl needs something more than the pack and her career. Watch over her, and I love you.” She is looking at the picture over the fireplace of her, Piper, and her mate.

Christian and Christos are in their office at the winery, trying to stay in control of their wolves. Cyclone and Hurricane haven’t been the same since that night at the ball. The wolves will take control every night and go hunting for rogues to kill. The twin brothers have tried just about everything to get their wolves to forget about the rejections.
About six months ago, Dr. Coung, the pack doctor, suggested that the wolves weren’t in control because the twins' hearts were broken. Christos and Christian had wanted so long to find their mates, but being rejected has pushed their Hurricane and Cyclone over the deep edge. It’s causing the human side to heal after battles, but their wolf side isn’t. Dr. Coung has come to the conclusion that if this continues, their wolves might die.
"That woman who said she's a doctor. Do you think you might be able to help us? I don't know how much longer our wolves can keep enduring this. You heard what Dr. Coung said." Christos is looking at an open wound on his stomach.
Christian looks up from where we don't know how. She's an Alpha and hasn't bothered to introduce herself to us. I don't know if we can trust her. Why is she here alone without any warriors?"
“That big brother is a good question. I was wondering the same thing. At least she rid the world of the damn rogue. She didn’t need our help with that. Also, who in the hell is she?” Christos taps his desk.
“I don’t know. But I do know that we can’t keep spying on her. It appears that we have company.” He’s looking at the security screen.
Christos looks at the screen and sees two men walking into the front door of their store. “First, let's deal with those bastards, then you try telling Cyclone and Hurricane to stay away from the cottage.”
The two men are businessmen but are also rogues. They are interested in buying the twins' winery. They come around about twice a month, each time with a higher offer than the last time.
Christian and Christos walk into the store with their hands in their pockets. Christian is looking at Sean. ‘We were expecting you, as always; you're right on time. Visiting my brother and my winery has become your routine for two years now. Let this be the last time. We’re still not interested in selling, and we never will be. If we were, we wouldn't sell to you."
“You two heard my big brother. Now get the hell out of our establishment," Christos is looking at Beau. He and Beau are standing face to face. “Did we stutter?” He steps closer to him. " No, we didn't."
Beau balls his fist up, looking at Christos.
Sean grabs Beau's arm. “Let go. Too many people here are human. Think about our offer. We’ll see you two again,” he says, looking at the twins.
“We’re sure we will. But it better not be here, “ Christian is looking at the two walking toward the door.
Christos leans over to him. “Why do you think they want our land so damn bad? Yes, it is fruitful. But there has to be more to it. Our wines are considered to be the best around."
“We’ll find out. They aren't sniffing around here for no reason.” Christian is looking at the black BMW backing up.

Piper had cooked steak and baked potato and made a garden salad for dinner. After cleaning the kitchen, she’s in the backyard lying in a hammock with her eyes closed, enjoying the peace. “I’m so enjoying this," she mumbles as she falls asleep.
About five miles away, Cyclone and Hurricane have just attacked a group of rogues camped on the other side of the border of the land. The two wolves are always thirsty for blood. The two wolves are looking at the damage they have done when some human mates of the rogues run out of a tent and start shooting at the two wolves.
Hurricane and Cyclone are running toward the cottage instead of their packhouse. Both let out loud howls when they got shot. The wolves don’t stop running until they are close to the cottage and are fighting with their human side. Christian and Christos are fighting to regain control. Both wolves' eyes keep changing from black and deep blue to light blue. When they are closer to Piper's cottage, wolves howl and whine before giving Christian and Christos control.
Piper sits up and looks in the direction of the howl. "Okay, I'm going to find out who this is tonight, even if I have to search every piece of property here. She walks to her jeep to get her medical bag. But decided to drive instead of walking, even if there were roads throughout the woods, maybe because the cottage owner is human.
It doesn’t take long for her to smell the two familiar scents. Piper stops there and takes her bag with her. She doesn’t hear anything, but the scents are getting stronger. Piper walks into a clean area and sees the twins on the ground, passed out. She runs over to the first man she gets to and sees that he has a lot of unhealed wounds. When she checks the other twin, she discovers the same. Piper puts a pair of gloves on, starts cleaning and treating the wounds, and turns Christos on his side because she saw blood running on the ground."Whoever did this to you wanted to ensure you didn't survive." She's looking at multiple bullet holes in his back. Piper looks over at Christian, and he's still out cold, too. "Let's see what I can do. Some of these wounds are old. I wonder why they didn't heal." Piper removes the last bullet from Christos. "Wolfbane," Piper walks over to Christian to examine his back, and he has also been shot multiple times. When she finished removing the bullets from Christian, she heard, "Thank you."
Piper turns to look at Christos. "You're welcome. Let me get my jeep and take you two back to my cottage. I have some more work to do on both of you." She walks away and doesn't give him a chance to say anything.
Christos is looking at her, walking away, and hearing Christian mumbling his name. "I'm right here. That Alpha doctor removed the bullets." He tries to stand but can't.
Christian looks over at him and then snaps his head when he hears Piper's jeep coming into view. He tries to stand up but falls.
She steps out of the jeep. "You're only making it worse. Let me help you two to my jeep. You both need some rest, and I need to clean your wounds again." She helps Christian get in, then walks over to Christos and helps him get in the back seat.
"We don't know your name," Christian said, looking at her.
She looks at him, " That makes us even. I don't know either of your names either. Now be quiet and reserve your strength."
The twins look at each other and then at her, but don't say anything.
