Chapter 67: Summer cup round five (Part 2)

“Chicken or beef?”

Valkyrie asked Fuyuno. Fuyuno remain silent for a second and then suddenly make a puzzled expression on her face.

“Chicken or beef? I’ve been thinking about what's more delicious. Can you help me find out?”

“Hell that I care about that… But I prepared chicken.”

In the middle of a serious fight. Fuyuno still has her chance to reply to such questions asked to her. Valkyrie after hearing Fuyuno’s answer smiled gently.

“Same here, I quite fond of  chickens…”

From a faraway distance, a long bullet flies to Valkyrie, it was a long shot for Ayane. The chance of hitting was close to none, but the bullet miraculously fly straight to Valkyrie.

Before the bullet hits, The target, Valkyrie. Move her sword gently to defect the bullet coming on her like it was nothing. The detection skill and danger awareness were too high and Fuyuno didn’t expect it.

“I would like to share a meal with you, but for now let's fight… Like real warriors from heaven.”

She then raised her sword. She made a fighting stance where she held her sword with both hands. Sword pointing up in heavens. It glows in golden color. MP was channeled on the sword making its next attack dangerous.

Fuyuno while seeing it in her own eye’s knew that the skill. Valkyries about to use are the same skill she used earlier.

“I’ll try copying that sword user from the first round...”

Valkyrie muttered first before she yelled the name of her skill.

“... Grand Cutter!”

A huge blade of light capable of cutting anything was released. But unlike before, The sword was swung in 45 degrees. Fuyuno's high reflexes and Knowledge of evasion saved her from the skill. Making Valkyrie think how lucky Fuyuno was to evade her skill two times in a row. Like Kaede, Fuyuno has devilish luck that saves her no matter what happened.

Fuyuno thinks that she was saved because she dodge the skill. But she was dread wrong. The sword skill was cast in different ways to reach someone whose hiding from above.

The blade of light flies toward Ayane’s position. Ayane foresaw it on her scope. She immediately stood up from her hiding spot and jump out of the rooftop. The five floored building where she’s was sliced down and fell on the ground with an impact enough for everyone to feel the shacking of the landscape.

“I missed again… This is unexpected.”

Valkyrie immediately contacted her teammates.

-- Touka target the sniper hiding. I guess she’s going to the highest building in the top area of the map. Sniper usually depends on their rife. They can’t battle efficiently in close combat battle.

-- Okay, I’ll going to tract her down.

-- I give this duty to the prettiest girl on the team.

-- No need to tell me that.

Hiyoko, Minami, and Mio then decided to track down the opponent team whose setting up the traps on the map.

-- Touka… Be careful, traps are set on the map.

-- That explains the spear spike earlier… Don’t worry, I have trap detection skills. Traps are useless on my vision.

-- Well, be going now.

-- Be careful too.

Going back to Valkyrie and Fuyuno. Valkyrie kick the ground and blast her body to Fuyuno. Followed by a sword swing. They have an exchange of blades.

“Extreme speed!”

“Extreme speed!”

Moving at a high speed unable to follow with the naked eye. Fuyuno and Valkyrie's battle grows more intense. Valkyries mind was in focus and no other thought cross in her mind but to defeat the girl in front of her.

Valkyrie pivot feet. Targeted Fuyuno’s feet. Fuyuno was struck on her feet resulting in her body to wheeled in 180 degrees. Her head was pointing on the ground and her feet pointing at the sky.

The victory was in Valkyrie's grasp. But Fuyuno won’t let it happen.

“Wire pull!”

“?!”

Behind Fuyuno a transparent wire was attached. The string was pulled away Fuyuno from Valkyrie’s sword reach. They pulled Fuyuno in long distance away from Valkyrie in instant. She then cut the wire on her back and rolled to the window house. She was then informed of the three girls going searching for the trap setters, Kokoro’s squad.

Their no way can defeat Valkyrie in a normal sword fight. I have to become creative when we face each other again. But in another way. I can defeat the other three and gain 3 points immediately. Defeating them will give our team an advantage in manpower. With the increase of people, we can ambush Valkyrie and eventually defeat her.

“Fuyuno… The three girls will pass the crossroads near your position.”

“That’s perfect… Now, shoot a bullet in any direction and show your position intensionally.”

“Roger.”

Ayane followed Fuyuno’s words and fire bullets. Making noise to show her position to her opponent. Ayane on the highest building stood up. She immediately grabbed Touka’s attention and headed to her as she planned. Meanwhile, the distraction of loud bullets made Nanami, Hiyoko and Mio turned their heads.

Speeding behind them. A girl moves with a  flash cutting down Mio’s body in half.

“There it is! The first point of the battle! Fuyuno’s speed and perfect assassination killed one of the players giving them 1 point.”

Alice all sheered up after when the first point was given.

Spectators are also amazed at the speed of Fuyuno. Her movement goes simultaneously to the gunshot of Ayane’s bullet. While distracted Fuyuno strikes the one easiest to kill for a moment.

“So fast!”

Nanami and Hiyoko didn’t waste their time and turned their body behind them. Swing their swords at the same time to catch Fuyuno. Fuyuno deflected their both swords.

“Thunder sword.”

The surge of lightning enveloped the sword and electrocuted Fuyuno. After Hiyoko’s skill, Nanami used strength enough to push Fuyuno down and slashed her body. Wanting revenge for taking down Mio.

Fuyuno’s was damaged and her health bar goes down to 60%. She made her distance away from the two girls.

Knowing that they are in advantage. Hiyoko and Nanami rapidly run for an attack. Using extreme speed skills they appeared in front of Fuyuno in instant.

That is the time Nanami noticed that Fuyuno is too confident for stepping back. At first, she wonder why her expression wasn’t trouble. It was too late when she notice the reason why.

“Trap activate!”

The remote trap set by Kokoro was activated. It's a bomb trap when exploded allies won't be hurt. The explosion made Nanami and Hiyoko forcibly push back. The explosion also made a smokescreen concealing Fuyuno’s location.

“This is bad… Nanami let's retreat.”

Nanami nods to Hiyoko’s suggestion and uses Cover's move skill to escape. The two girls appeared instantly beside Touka whose moving toward Ayane’s location.

“Tsk… They manage to run again…”

“That’s great they know how to retreat in a fight they can’t win. Both teams have this kind of mindset. Fuyuno also did the same while facing Valkyrie. They are no ordinary players at all.”

Clover commented.

Kaede while watching engrave the lesson on her mind.

There is no way she can beat everyone by herself after all. It was arrogant of them to attack rashly in their second battle. The next time, Kaede won’t be swallowed by her insecurities and proving she's the best. That kind of mentality will only lead to failure if the arrogance wasn’t founded by enough strength and power.

“I’m sorry we’re not paying attention Mio was taken down.”

“It's fine… That gunshot was loud, to begin with. They not battling in pure strength. They also plan their move carefully. We better do our best to win this fight.”

Touka said.

While running they entered the trap zone Kokoro set. Using trap detection skills. The three girls passed every trap and climb the building to Ayane. Ayane fire bulet to Touka but dodge.

“Their defense was too strong. I need to hide again.”

Using a smoke screen bomb. Ayane concealed her presence and then run away from her current position. She wants to avoid her close combat as possible.

The sniper after firing one bullet jumps out of the building searching for another place to hide.

“She runs away.”

Touka chased Ayane.

Nanami and Hiyoko go back chasing Kokoro, Miwa and Rua.

Fuyuno chasing Nanami and Hiyoko.

Valkyrie chasing Fuyuno.

The battle of chase continues.
