Chapter 15: Preparation for next Event

“The next battle event is about to happen. That will be my first battle event. If it’s a battle royale. I won’t pull my punches on you Kaede. Prepared with my blade”
“That’s bad, I don’t want to hurt you after all. My damage is very high. I’m scared I might injure you.”
“This is just you know… Well, I will still felt some pain from your attack. But it’s not that severe. The maximum level of pain that can be felt in this game is like the maximum punch of a first grader student.”
Yuki opened a panel and search for the news for the next event. She then showed it to Kaede.
“Look, the next event is decided.”
“Hunting event? What kind of event is that?”
Yuki then read through the description. After reading she made a sigh of relief. She was happy that She and Kaede will never gonna exchange fists in the next battle event. She then explains the event to Kaede.
“The next event is about hunting monsters…”
“A special event monster will be scattered in a giant map with different kinds of places. Players then go and defeat them. After defeating they will receive points. The highest-earning points will be the winner. The most awesome part is the fact that we can play at the party. With can play as a team in the next event. Isn’t exciting?!”
Yuki then takes the menu and takes another order of dessert for her.
I thought she only has a little money on her. Kaede thought and look toward Yuki with a skeptical face and spit on her juice drink.
Yuki is just enjoying the feature of the game. Also, the reality that she won't gain any fat after eating a ton of food in this game.
Kaede thinking about the next event was also excited that she can play with her friend at last.
Winning one in a battle event really builds up Kaede’s confidence in battle, but she knows that she still has lots of space to learn. That’s why she decided not to hold back in the next event.
Reviewing the event description. Kaede finds out that other players or parties can stile points from another player by killing them.
“The demon lord…”
A familiar voice was heard. Kaede turned her gaze and saw Darkblader65 drinking with one of his friends.
“D-Demon lord?”
Kaede was confused after hearing it. She then just think she misheard his words.
His friend turned his head toward Kaede and made his greetings.
“It’s been since I saw you. Taking a closer look at you you sure is a cute girl?”
Hearing that Yuki throws a sharp glare toward the other guy. Meanwhile, Kaede is thinking where did she last see the man greeting her.
“Who are you?”
The jaw of the man falls toward Kaede’s reaction. This is the first time a girl didn’t recognize him at all. In virtual reality and real life, he knew that his quite popular. But Kaede forgets about him.
“For real?”
“She’s an oddball, but she is kind. Also, I didn’t know that you're onto girls her age?”
“I’m not into her. Anyways, I can’t believe that I was forgotten. I will introduce myself. My name is Blake, I’m the third in the last battle event. Don’t forget about it. We might be facing each other again in the next event.”
Introducing his name to Kaede. Kaede and Yuki already left the restaurant. Because of that Kaede never knew his name.
Yuki goes to the conclusion that Blake is hitting on Kaede and it’s something she can’t let on happening.
“Those damn apes.”
“Apes?”
“I-It’s nothing… I mean let’s hunt down apes to gain experience. I wanted to try my other skills. Apes are quite fast and agile.”
Yuki panic and averted her eyes away from Kaede. And they both walked to the forest to grin experience points and defeat monsters.
After battling Yuki finds out that her level is not increasing fast like before. She opened it and take a look at her status.

Kaede meanwhile who is bored is laying in the thick moss face down on the ground.
“This feels good.”
“What are you doing Kaede… Are you leveling up?”
“Not really, the monster on this floor is not only giving me a small amount of experience. Boss monsters only respawned every 3 days after they are defeated. When I planned to defeat one. It’s already slain by somebody else.”
“I already saw that coming… The next event is right through the corner. Players are giving their all to improve in this game.”
Kaede gets up and then walked toward Yuki and pointed out the huge tower that seemingly connecting through the sky.
Kaede is pointing out the dungeon that connects floor 1 to floor 2. Floor 1 is basically a place for beginners, but these two players are not ordinary players. Kaede and Yuki we’re able to defeat powerful enemies with them alone. Other players will take a month and recruit more people to defeat one boss monster.
“Let’s go on the next floor… I think we can see lots of powerful monsters there. Powerful monster means huge experience.”
It’s risky for them to battle monsters above their level, but it worth a challenge. Instead of thinking of it as a bad thing, both players are very excited about what they can see on the next floor.
Kaede takes off her armor once again and rides behind Yuki’s back. With a gleaming smile on their face, they charge toward the tall dungeon.

Meanwhile, people started talking about the new friend Kaede. Some people saw her slaying a high-level monster that is above her level. Her speed is incredible. It’s not just the in-game skill that makes her movement fast. Because she is physically athletic. She was able to manifest it through the game itself.
Not too long before, Yuki dueled multiple players in a PVP match. To earn money for her equipment. Despite just using her started equipment. She dominated and bring down multiple levels 20 and above players. PVP doesn’t give Yuki experience points but she gains skills after meeting skill requirements while battling. She also gains lots of money.
Few players only saw Yuki’s talent in the game. One of them is the game developer themselves.
“That girl is absolutely a monster. It’s abnormal for her to have that many skills.”
The Mouse developer said.
“It’s fine it’s the main feature of the game. Anyone can obtain any skills. There is no way she can use it consecutively because it uses MP and has a cooldown. She is just above average player. What I’m most concerned about was the player named Kaede?”
The Tiger developer said.
“To think that she is the lucky person to gain the secret skill Sword boost is quite fascinating.”
The Dog developer said.
“Sword boost doubled the STR of the wielder and also it quadruple when her other stats were lower than her opponents. Considering that she only has stats on her STR makes her STR four times more powerful every time.”
The rabbit developer said and look through the footage.
“Not only that she was able to obtain the unique series weapon sword moon piercer. Moon piercer has a 70% of landing a critical strike. Critical strike rage from 2x to 10x. She has natural luck that made her into what she was.”
The Tiger said.
“If it's a bug then we can just nerf her.”
The Goat said.
“That’s unreasonable, she is doing her best. Also, she is making an uproar in the gaming community. After seeing her battle people started to implement and customize their own skills”
The dog developer said.
“Them being creative a is a huge work. Many things will be updated. The players are doing their best and monster respawning is started to become limited.”
The pig yawned and roll over the floor.
“We already solve that problem… The next five-floor added in the game will be installed before the holiday season. For now, let's first observe Kaede and her friend. I can feel that the Top players are already shaking.”
The dragon said and the meeting ended.
