Chapter 7

Seneca

I managed to make it through the rest of breakfast with all of the guys. I don't know how I did it because I was ready to unalive Midnight. But I enjoyed my time with Dad, Pap, and Pappa as well as with Storm and Reaper. They made breakfast so much better. And I was so glad that they were here.

After I pissed Midnight off, he just kept pissing me off on purpose. I know that Storm and Reaper knew what he was doing because of the looks that they were giving him. But thankfully, Dad, Pap, and Pappa didn't know. And if they did, they were good at hiding it.

When we were done with breakfast, Reaper said that he was paying and to put our wallets out when we all reached for them. He even had them fix me another iced coffee to go. I gotta have my coffee of a morning, and especially on days like today when I'm going to be busy. Honestly though, I think that he's trying to keep me caffeinated so that I don't unalive his best friend.

The waitress had brought us some to-go boxes. So while we waited for her to bring my coffee and Reaper's card, we boxed up our leftovers. I still had about half of my breakfast left, so I boxed it up for later. Dad had some home fries, and a biscuit left, and he put them in my box and then winked at me.

"Gotta make sure that my girl stays fed." he said.

"I eat regularly, Dad. My kitchen is usually stocked to overflowing. Lord knows that when you come to see me you bring a s**t load of food out to me, my over protective pappa bear." I said with a giggle.

"Someone has to look out for you. When you get busy studying and doing schoolwork, you tend to forget the world around you. If you would finally start dating, then you'd have a man to worry about your eating habits. And then I wouldn't have to worry so much." Dad said.

"Funny, I remember you telling me that I wasn't allowed to date or get married until I was sixty. And that meant that I wasn't even allowed to have s*x or have kids until then. But yet your sons have all been having s*x since they were fifteen. And two of them now have kids without being married. Kinda sexist, don't ya think?" I asked while mean-mugging him.

He just chuckled and then said, "Yeah, you're right, and you know that I'm just picking on you. When you start dating, other than giving the guy (or guys)." he whispered. "The 'dad' talk, I'll stay out of your relationship. Unless I need to step in to kick his ass. No man is worthy of your love, but when you start dating, I'll hurt any man who hurts you."

"And I'll be right behind him to help him. No matter who the guy or guys are. You're pretty much my second daughter, and I'll hurt anyone who hurts you." Pappa said.

I discreetly looked towards Midnight and smirked as I said, "I know that you both would hurt any man that ever hurt me."

After Reaper got his card and I got my coffee, we picked up our to-go boxes and headed out. We continued to talk as we walked out to where we were parked. I still had shopping to do, so I gave Dad, Pap, and Pappa all hugs. And then Reaper and Storm stepped up to hug me. As they hugged me, they both kissed me on the forehead.

Midnight didn't step up to hug me, and I was thankful for that until he opened his mouth. When Reaper looked towards Midnight with a raised brow, Midnight just smirked at him. He said, "What? I don't need to hug her, I'm going with her so that she has protection and help."

That pissed me off, and I said, "Like hell you are. I don't need you for protection or help. I'm perfectly capable of going to the store alone. Go about doing what you need to do. I don't want, nor do I need, you to follow me around. I'm a big girl and I can take care of myself. For the rest of you, I love you, and I'll try to see you soon. As for you, Midnight, you can go jump off a cliff."

I then walked away from where the guys had their bikes parked to my SUV. I unlocked it, then got in and put my stuff on the passenger seat.

Before I shut my door, I yelled out, "I love you, Dad, Pap, and Pappa. I'll talk to you all later."

I then shut my door, started my car, and pulled out. I had stuff to get done today, and then I had to stop back and pick up Ragnar before heading back home.

After I left the diner, I headed to the mall. I wanted to go to a few different stores to get the stuff that I needed. My first stop was at an outdoor sports place. Dad loves to go fishing and tries to go every chance that he has. I was talking to Mom about his present, and she said that there was a new pole and some other stuff that he wanted. So I told her that I'd get it for him, since she already had his present.

As I parked my car and got out, I saw Midnight parking not far from me. I just shook my head, put my purse across my body, locked my car, and started across the parking lot. As I was walking, I put my phone and keys in my purse. And I continued to ignore Midnight behind me. It was hard to do with his big assed feet stomping across the parking lot behind me.

Thankfully, I was able to duck into the mall and the store that I wanted, all the while losing his ass. I just wish that it had lasted longer. As I was walking through the sports store, pushing my cart, I spotted him a couple of times. I just ignored him, though.

Since I was in the store, there were a few things that I needed for my gym that I picked up. I also grabbed a couple more yoga mats since I was in here. Then I headed to the fishing section. I went to the poles and started to look through them. Mom had sent me the link for the one that Dad wanted. So I got my phone out and looked it up.

As I was pulling the link up, I felt someone step up behind me and put their hand on my waist.

"Thought that you were going to lose me, didn't you? Not going to happen, baby. We have some talking to do." Midnight growled into my ear.

"I have nothing to say to you." I said.

I had the link pulled up, so I walked down the poles looking for the right one. When I found it, I found one that was black and one that was red, and I put them both in my cart.

It was a nice pole, and mine had broken, so I figured that I'd get myself one as well. Then dad and I can go fishing together. Once I had them in my cart, I went to the next aisle that had the fishing tackle in it. As I was looking through it and trying to decide what to get, Midnight decided to talk again.

"What are you getting two poles for?" he asked me.

"Mom said that Dad wants one, so I'm getting him one for his birthday. Since it's a pole that is made for heavy-duty fishing, I decided to get one as well. Mine broke, and I haven't had time to come get a new one. I'm also going to fix a new tackle box up for him because his old one has about had it. I've got a few other things to pick up for him as well. One of those things is at the Harley shop." I said.

"Hell yeah, he'll love that. He was just saying again the other day that he needed to get a new pole. But hasn't been able to come and get one. I think that your mom also said that when she checked on them, they were sold out of the one that he wanted. The guys and I went together and got him some new s**t for his bike. We also got him a few other things as well. He'll love this, though." he said.

"I hope so. I also plan to bake him his favorite cheesecake and pineapple upside-down cupcakes. I'll do that Friday, though. I have to pick up the stuff to make them both when I go to the store. I have a few stops to make before I stop and get lunch for Mom and Nanna, and drop it off for them. And I have to pick Ragnar up from there." I said.

"Who the f**k is Ragnar and why haven't I heard of him before?" he asked with a pissed off tone.

I smirked at him and asked him, "Jealous much?"

"Your damn right I am. You shouldn't be spending your time with any man except for Reaper, Storm, and I" he said while giving me a pissed off look. I just laughed at him and continued to put stuff in my cart.

The longer that I ignored him, the more pissed off that he got. Finally, I said, "Did you happen to notice what was on my shoulder this morning?"

He stood there with a puzzled look on his face and said, "No, I didn't. But what does that have to do with anything?"

"Everything, It has everything to do with it. I had a raven sitting on my shoulder. His name is Ragnar. Mystic stayed at home, she's not as crazy about coming into town as Ragnar is. They are my birds. And just in case you didn't know, I also have a ghost with me as well. I can see and speak to them. The old ghost at the diner is funny as hell. But Octavius, who is always with me, can get on my nerves at times. So if you see me talking to myself, I'm not actually talking to myself. I'm talking to a ghost." I told him.

"Good to know," he said. He was not pouting, and it was funny as hell.

I continued to get everything that I needed from here, and when I was done, I checked out. Midnight was useful to have around, after all. He took my stuff out to my car for me as I headed into the next store.

I managed to get everything that I needed at the mall and then at the Harley shop. When I was done there, I went to the grocery store and stocked up on everything that I needed. I made a quick stop through a drive-thru to grab food for Mom and Nanna, and grabbed something for me as well. Now all I had to do was drop their food off, grab Ragnar, and head home.

I'm kind of glad that Midnight had followed me around today because the back of my car was overflowing. I guess he is useful for something, after all.
