Chapter 8

Seneca

When I stopped by the shop to drop Mom and Nanna's food off, they were both busy. So I left their food and drinks in the office, locked the door back, let them know, and then left. As I left out the back door, locking it behind me, Ragnar flew to me and landed on my shoulder.

As I reached up to pet him, I heard a noise and looked to where it came from. There beside my car was Midnight, sitting on his bike, waiting for me.

"You really have a raven that follows you around," he said in amazement.

"I do, I actually have two of them. The girl just likes to stay at home. Occasionally, Mystic will come with me, but it's not often. They have perches just about everywhere that we go, so that they have a spot to hang out. There's the ones here, Mom and Dad's house, Pap and Nanna's house, and my house. I don't really go anywhere else." I told him.

I continued to walk towards the driver's side of my car. Midnight was parked on that side of my car and was watching Ragnar the closer that I got.

"What are you doing here? I figured that you headed back to the club since I didn't see you when I stopped to get food," I asked him.

"Yeah, I stopped at a different drive-thru to grab food. I wanted tacos for lunch, so I called in an order to the diner and stopped by and got it. If you don't mind, the guys are going to meet us at your Pap's house, and we're going to follow you out to your place to help you. We also want to see your house and see how it turned out. And I have a lot of s**t to make up for and a lot of explaining that needs to be done." he told me.

"I guess that's ok. I have some schoolwork to get done today, so you guys can't stay for long. I also have a test that I need to study for, and it's tomorrow. If you're going with me, let's go." I said.

As I went to open my door, Midnight was right there to open it for me. Ragnar hopped down my arm and across the seat when I held my arm out.

Once he was on the console, Midnight helped me up into the car. As he leaned in to kiss me on the forehead, Octavius started his s**t.

"Men shouldn't be kissing girls that they are not married to. And girls shouldn't be accepting such kisses from them. Even if it is on the forehead." he grumbled from the passenger seat.

I just rolled my eyes, and as Midnight's lips touched my forehead, I said, "Would you stop grumbling about men kissing women who are not married? I'm sick of hearing about it. I know that you think kissing is something that should be done behind closed doors, but this isn't the nineteen fifties anymore. Geesh."

After I told Octavius off, Midnight pulled back and gave me a confused look.

"I didn't say anything about kissing. I was just giving you a kiss on the forehead. If you don't want me to kiss you, I won't, though. And if I have to marry you to kiss you, then I think that Reaper and Storm will be pissed if they're not part of the wedding vowels. You know that it's the three of us together." he said.

I rolled my eyes at him and said, "That's not what I meant at all. I wouldn't marry any of you, but especially you right now, first of all. And secondly, I was talking to Octavius."

"Ok, we'll come back to the 'you not marrying me' thing later. Who the f**k is Octavius?" he asked, as he looked around us.

I giggled at him and said, "You won't be able to see him. Octavius is the ghost that I see all of the time. He is always following me around. He doesn't believe in men kissing women unless they are married. That's not all that he believes, either. He's always giving me hell about how I'm dressed and acting. And the fact that I live alone in the woods. It's not proper for a young lady, according to him. He seems to think that I need to be married and have a protector. Anyway, enough of Octavius and his old-fashioned views. Let's head out to Pap and Nanna's house."

"Ok, I'll follow right behind you." he said as he shut the door.

I put my seatbelt on and started my car, and then waited for him to get on his bike and start it up. Once he was ready, he gave me a chin lift, and I pulled out with him right behind me.

It didn't take us long to get to Pap and Nanna's house, and when we pulled in, I pulled over by the boat ramp. Once I got as close as I could, I put the car in park and got out. I left my door open so that Octavius and Ragnar could both follow me out. As I looked across the parking area, I saw that Midnight was parking his bike beside Reaper and Storm.

I headed to the back of my SUV and opened the back hatch. Once it was up, I grabbed a few bags and then headed to my boat. I stepped onto the boat and put the bags down by the coolers. When I turned back around, the guys were all coming with more bags. So I started to put everything into the coolers to stay cold for the ride out.

As the guys set the bags down, I loaded all of the cold food into the coolers. Everything else was in my reusable bags, and I put everything that I could into the storage area. After I had everything ready to go, I stood up and looked at the guys standing on the dock.

"I just have to move my car to my parking spot, and then I'm good to go. How were you guys getting out to my place?" I asked them.

"Kayden is going to let us use his boat." Reaper told me.

"Yeah, no. Let me move my car, and then you guys can ride with me. I'll bring you back here before dark. Because you'd never find your way there or back by yourselves. And I don't want to spend all night looking for your lost asses." I told them as I stepped out of the boat.

As I started down the pier, I yelled out, "Ragnar, Octavius! Get your asses into the boat or you're getting left behind when I leave."

I could hear Midnight chuckling behind me while the other two were asking who the f**k I was talking to. Midnight then explained who both Ragnar and Octavius were to them.

I jumped into my SUV and moved it out of the way. Once it was parked in my spot, I grabbed my phone, purse, and keys and got out. After I locked it up, I started back to the pier where the guys and now Pap were standing. When I got to where they were, I saw Reaper handing Pap back his keys.

"So you're going to take them out and bring them back here?" he asked me as I wrapped my arms around him.

"Yes, sir. The last thing that I want to deal with tonight is having to find their lost asses. I have a test tomorrow that I need to study for, plus other work to do. So the chances of them being found for a few days would be slim to none." I said with a smirk aimed at the guys.

Pap just chucked as he said, "Yeah, I could see her leaving you all stuck out there as well. I filled the boat up with gas just before you got here. And I put a full gas jug on there so that you'd have it if you need it. You know the drill: keep your walkie on, and when you get home, make sure that the CB is still on. If you need anything, get hold of me on there. Someone will be listening to it, we always are."

"Will do, Pap. I'll call you on it before we head back this way later. If, for some reason, someone in the club needs to reach Reaper, just call me on it. It's always on when I'm home. I love you." I told him.

"I will, and I love you to be careful." he said.

"I will. Come on, boys, let's get gone," I said as I walked over to my boat.

When I got to it, I lifted my skirts and stepped down into the boat. I put my phone and keys in my purse and took my boat keys out. Then I stored my purse in the cubby that I had for it. Octavius was at the back of the boat, complaining about every little thing like always. And Ragnar flew to my shoulder and sat.

The guys untied the boat and then got on. Once they were sitting somewhere, I started the boat and backed it out. Once I was backed out, I said "Hold on" and then took off. On the trip out to my house, I was nervous as hell. It was the first time that a guy, or guys, who wasn't related to me would be there.

I usually didn't have company unless it was Winnie or Ruby. Sometimes Dad, Mom, my brothers, or Nanny and Pap would come to see me. But most of the time, I was alone in my little slice of paradise. It would be weird having other people at my home. But I have to admit, it is something that I've dreamed about. Having these three guys at my house. I just didn't figure that it would ever happen.

But I guess we'll see what today brings with them going out to the house with me. Wish me some luck because I'm not sure how it will end. If Midnight pisses me off anymore, he's liable to end up either in the bayou or being alligator food. You just never know. Now hold on for the ride, I'm ready to get home and see what they want.
