A girl's secret

Greece one of the most peaceful and not dangerous places in the world, there no one thinks something exciting or dangerous will happens. Not in my case, I am standing in a room with my first kill on the floor. How did it happen? let’s go a little, no, a lot back.   It all started after a year of Kung fu. I was running to class since I was already late. I entered and saw a man who looked like he was Asian. He looked quite old he had a beard and short hair they were gray like his eyes. He had a serious expression but from the lines on his cheeks, it seems that he was smiling a lot when he was young. With him he had 4 people that had kimonos, there was also a girl that was wearing a yukata. She had blonde hair and brown eyes. My mind was going wild in the bad way. Who are they? Why are they here? What is going on?   “Niki you are late, I wasn’t expecting you to be.” Mister Stamatis voice snapped me out of my train of thoughts.   "I am sorry Sir that I am late, it won't happen again." I say bowing.   "It is fine. Get in line with the others." He says, normally he would make a joke or smile but he was really serious about it. That worried me a little.   After taking off my shoes and shocks I got in line with the orange belts. I noticed that most of the kids were here even the black belts. Then the man with gray hair started talking in what I understand to be Chinese from the little lessons online.   “Hello, I am Fansu I will translate what master Hishimaru tells. ‘Good-afternoon I am master Hishimaru I am here to choose one of you to try and become my apprentice. I am not counting the rank you are on, I am counting your self’” he translates in Greek. After those words, we all started whispering to each other. I wasn't part of this chat, I was always distant the first year and I also knew that if you want to get picked you need to try and stay serious. But on the inside ‘Oh my f*****g god it is the best day of my life! Hahaha, and what the hell is up with that guy name? Okay, Niki calm down you will be fine.'   “You will fight each other to show your strength no mode for the fight. It will be a dirty one.” Mister Fansu say again then grabbed the click board and started calling names.   It all passed so quickly that in less than a 30 minutes it was only me and a black belt. I was nervous but tried not to show it, I wanted to become his apprentice I could see that he had something special and more powerful from mister Stamatis. The match started, I blocked and hit the best I could. But my mind was searching for a way to win her, I am not strong enough to overpower her but I could manipulate. At the thought, I smirked looking at her with the most creepy and scary face I could make (not the best ‘-_-).    “Why are you smirking?” She asked not stopping fighting.   "Oh, nothing I was just thinking that you are weaker than I expected and slower." I said trying to piss her off.   “I am not I am stronger than you.” She said shooting me a punch which I blocked with all my power. We stayed like that, me not letting her go.   “Really? You sure?” I ask giving my best demonic smile I could do. My hands started hurting, I brought her face close to me. We were only a centimeter away, one false move and we would kiss. She had a shocked expression and that was my time to strike. I sifted my foot to her knee and when she fell I got on top of her and then punched her. Well, they thought I would but I stopped it before I did it.   “I won.” I say a little emotionless getting up and standing putting a hand out to help her get up. Then we went back in lines.   “Bravo Niki and to all of you. This is the address, Niki, to come tomorrow for the test.” He says giving me a paper. I nodded and we were dismissed. In the paper, it was written in English.   Don’t say anything to anyone come alone or say to your parents that it is just a little meeting for the persons that do Kung fu.   That is what I did, I kept it a secret for the time being. After my mom let me at Kung fu we went (me and mister Stamatis) to the building.   It was nothing big at first it looked like a normal modern building. After a madam told me that the others are waiting for me and gave me some directions for the class I walked in the directions but after some time I got lost completely.  I was trying to see where the place to meet is but couldn’t find it. Then I saw a kid walking in a room so I followed him. When I entered the first thing I saw was that the room had dark colors. The walls were painted a really dark black green and the floor was a dark gray color. It had two staircases that lead to a railing much like the one in Naruto anime.  I came to a stop as I approached where the other kids were. We all wore some normal clothes. I wore a jean with a black shirt and inside an undershirt with my boots on. The others wore some gymnastic clothes like sweatpants. Master Hishimaru was in front of us with some dudes with masks.    “Now that we are all here, welcome. I suppose you all talk English(We nod). Good, now you will be put in several tasks, 7 to be specific that will put you over the edge.” He says in a flat tone. I nervously played with my phone and headphones in my pockets.    "The first one will be to clean a class on your own." We all looked like we saw Superman. ‘What the hell does he think we are some cleaning people?' I ask my self in my head angrily.    “You have 2 hours to finish and you can do it as you like as long as it is done.” He finally put the last rule and each one of the guys in masks take one of us and lead us to rooms.   It was quite disgusting and weird, the cleaning stuff all need physical strength. I thanked mentally my mother for putting me to clean the house sometimes. I put my headphones on and started listening to music. I started scrubbing the floor and without knowing it I did some Kung fu and dancing moves. In 2 hours I finished all cleaning and checked the place to see if I forgot anything. Then they called us to see what class is the worse, they put us in line. They called a boy name, he came forth, they knocked him out and cared him out.   ‘Now I get it, the worst get out of the competition. If that is the case I need to be really careful. But the good news is that I only need to not be the last so that is something.’ I think to myself getting a little bit scared.   “Now follow us.” He says and starts walking we followed most kids talked with each other except me, they asked or tried to talk to me but I didn't respond. I didn't want to they were all like I am the best or the strongest and blah blah blah. Anyway, we went to a room where it was like the cinema.    ‘We will watch a movie? What the f*****g hell is going on? Maybe they want us to relax then attack us, I should keep my guard up.’ I think to myself examining the room. It didn’t have a lot of doors except 4 like theater in the American schools.   We sat down and the movie started, it was the complete opposite of what I thought. The movie was with obviously really things people killing humans or animals. I turned to see the others puking or covering their eyes or flinching, I turned to the adults and saw none of them showing any emotion on their face. I got the message and just looked with a bored expression at the video. After that we became 5 kids, we went to one room that looked like a school one, again.  "Now you will take a break. (We all sighed) And will write a test." He says, I had to purse my lips together not to shout What the hell!!!!. The test wasn’t a normal one it had riddles all the way or police affair. I wrote down what I knew it wasn’t much but I think it was enough.   Four   The other task was to fight between some guys. Some kid went first and I started daydreaming like always. ‘I am wondering what they really want clearly there is more than being an apprentice. Most of the guys here wear masks quit useful as information and-.'   “Kid, are you listening or are you deaf?” An ugly face screaming asshole came in front of me. I looked at him like he was a shithead which he was.   “Get your ass to the ring.” He proceeded on grabbing my shirt by the collar and lifting me up. I lifted my foot and slammed it between his legs and then hit him with an uppercut. But I wasn't finished I got on top of him and was ready to punch him when a voice stopped me, unfortunately.   “Enough!” Master Hishimaru shouted I got off him but as he got up I punched him again and as a result, two people came and took me by the hands away from him. I saw Mister Hishimaru arch a brow in question.   "He asked for it with his ugly face and ass." I replied as a defense with a smirk.    Three After that he made us go to a forest. Master Hishimaru stopped in a big tree.   “Now listen up I will say it just one time. You will have to collect some crystals like these (he showed us some green crystals) you will need to get as many as you can and survive out there with your knowledge that you have.” He says then in an instant disappeared.    I run away from the others searching for some crystals. I stopped when I heard some leafs got smashed by someone. I closed my eyes and concentrated on my ears. I heard the air blowing around me, the birds singing songs and the faint sound of the city.    Suddenly I heard a clink from a crystal I started running in that direction. I came to a stop when I saw wolves surround a crystal that was hanging from a tree. They haven't seen or heard or smell me since I was in a buss with some sticking things, I started looking around.    ‘What can’t a wolf do? Come on think, think… Gods this is like a test in French. Come on remember that book for the animals that you were reading when you were little.’ I started thinking to myself, then it hit me like a brick. ‘They can't climb, of course!' I mentally smacked myself. I saw a tree that was easy to climb but there was a possibility that they would see me. Well, it was that or nothing so I did it. I run up the tree and jumped on a branch. To be honest it was quite shocking for me to effort and do that. The wolves started sniffing, my face got pale and I became still like a rock. Then a scream was heard in the distance a boy’s one. The wolves started running there, I took the chance and I grabbed the crystal. I started running back to the meeting place, suddenly I heard growls behind me. I didn’t dare to look behind me I knew that the wolves were near me. I saw the finish line but at the same time I could sense the breath of a wolf behind my foot, I kicked him and pushed my self to run faster. After going I throw to myself the finish line I turned and I didn’t see anyone or anything. I was the first one to arrive.   Two   We are moved to another room, I could feel that both of us were nervous.   "Who do you think he will take?" The boy asks. He was a guy with tan skin, brown hair, and green eyes. Weird combination. ‘Leave me the f**k alone I have better things than that.’ I was getting impatient and pissed like hell.   "Hey, do you hear me?" He says putting his head in front of my eyes and slapping me out of my train of thoughts. I just shrugged while glaring at him with a death look.   “You aren’t talkative are you?” I still don’t answer even if it’s killing me.   The doors open and the group of people come in. Master Hishimaru stands in front of us a little bit away.   "Both of you did well very well but Niki is the one that I will take as my apprentice." He says in less than 3 seconds the boy beside me is unconscious on the floor. Everyone goes away except master Hishimaru and a woman with clothes in her hands.   "You went well, better than I expected. So you will be my apprentice if you want of course." He says with a straight face. "It would be my pleasure and honor." I say bowing even if I was jumping on the inside. He nodded and he got out and left me with the woman. "Hello, I am Emilia nice to meet you." She says smiling. She was a slim and tall woman with blond hair and brown eyes in a yukata kimono. The same one from yeasterday   “Nice to meet you. I am Niki.” I reply smiling   "Here are the clothes that you will wear." She says handing me them. Then bowed and got out.    After pouting on my clothes I looked myself in the mirror of the room. I wore a black kimono shirt, black pants, and black boots. My shirt didn't have sleeves but had a hood that was tight around my head. I got outside to be greeted by master Hishimaru.   “Good now that you put on your clothes follow me." He said and started walking with his hands crossed behind his back. He gave me a tour of the base and told me about the story and the things that I will have to do. I already knew it would be dangerous. He explained to me that I will be an assassin and I would get pay for it depends on the guy I kill.   We went to a room with a lot of masks. He told me that I will choose a mask to wear. I looked all of them and saw a leopard one I was ready to pick it but I looked at the side and saw a devil mask hide in the very back. It got my interest like it was calling me and I grabbed it and went back and I  told him that I would want this.   "Very well, but you need to wear it always except when you are in your normal life." I nod and we continue to walk to another room.  There he gave me weapons, two double katanas (black and red), three weapon punch (One on my right thing and two on the back of my hips), some daggers, shuriken, kunais and a cloak with pockets on the inside to put the weapons and paper of the missions.   We got to a double door with guards outside. Before we went inside I put on my mask since I forgot to put it on. Master Hishimaru opened the doors. It was a room with a conference table not round nor oval it was one that had a path from the door to the center of it. In the side that was facing the door, there were 5 people each one with different colors, their air was really dominant like leader, except one which he gave me a weird chill up my spine.   “Come forward young one.” The one in the middle said did I mention they were super old. I walked forward and stood on the center looking around without moving my head. I bowed and stood back up straight. My palms began to sweat and my body started moving from back to forward.   “We have read your file. Excellent results until now. I see you have practised one year of judo too.”   “Yes sir” I nod   “Now please hear very carefully. In this organization, we protect the ones that are innocents and we kill the bad ones, the really bad ones.” One man begins to speak but another cuts him off.   “And we use old technics that trust me you won’t believe are real.”   “Of course you won’t use them to your normal life.”   “We use supernatural powers and you will also receive a spirit animal, make tests to see which ones are the right for you.” The ‘bad guy’ adds.   “One last thing being master Hishimaru student and apprentice won’t be easy. You will train ten times harder and ten times more you will give everything you have to this training. So do you agree to have this position?”   “Yes” I reply   “You won't reply like that when you get a mission or anything formal you will say ‘I (all your titles) give my concept to receive this (thing)' Now reply like that.”   “I Skiofti, the kid of the devil give my concept to become Master Hishimaru apprentice.” “Now go, your mother should be outside waiting to get you.”  Then Master Hishimaru nods for me to follow him to the exit. I got outside and sat got inside the car.   "So how was it?" She asks, I reply with a good and told her false news and funny things. That moment I was happy that I was a good actor.   We went home and I went to my room after a bath and dinner. I lied on my bed staring up the sealing. I was excited about what is going to come.   The next day I went to school like usual but I had a weird feeling I was been followed by someone but when I looked around me no one was there looking like they were spying on me. I got home with my sister and parents and went to my room calmly. After doing what homework I wanted to do I went to my computer and played on it. But then my email opened without me putting my password, without me clicking on the bottom and such thing. I was really freaked out, the mouse went crazy like he had a mind of his own. He opened a message on what was from an address email I didn’t know.       Dear new member   It is a real pleasure for me to be the first one to greet you to our organization. I go by the name of ‘Primuse’ which means first in Italian. I will be the one to explant to you about different things just go to this online address and we will chat about the things that you will need to know.   After I read it I become nervous, again. ‘I become very nervous these days.’ I think to my self. My mother shouted at me to come down. I hide the window and run downstairs.   "Niki, I am going to the supermarket with Eva do you want to come too?" She asks while getting her keys.   “No thanks I prefer to stay home I had a really hard day.” I say smiling at her.   “Okay well, your dad went to your grandparents. Do you want anything for me to get you?” She asks going down to the garage.   “No thank you, mum.” I say as I start going up the stairs.   When I am sure they are away I go back up and go to the link.  It was just like a -Word office-, then it started writing   P- Hello. M- Hi. P- Nice to meet you, new one what is your code name you want us to call you? M- Nice to meet you too, I would like the code name of Kid of the devil or Skiofti for short. P- Alright Skiofti. First, you should remember that when you are for good in you can't get out.   It took me some time as I thought about my decision.   M- I know that and I won’t turn back. P- In our organization, we kill only bad people. M- Okay, please continue. P- We use powers but most people don’t believe in them. Everyone has a different one that they learn and make contact with the spirits that represent them. So far good?   I just got up went down and got some cold water to get me cooled down and relaxed   M- Yeah I am good. (I respond without believing my self.) P- Just a little more. You will also bond with your spirit animal later on in the contrary of your powers which you will receive in the first day. You will also be having 1 out of 3 Kung fu classes with Master Hishimaru. Understood? M- yes understood. P- Good, you will have to do some tattoo but they will not show on your daily life except if you use your powers. M- Yes sir. P- That is all. And one more thing, a friendly advise get some sleep you will need it.   With that the window on my computer close. I just stay there looking at my computer for some seconds. I let out a sigh, close my computer and got back in my room.
