"Oh really? Are you the one asking that. I saved you from the plane accident. I met you helpless in that plane, the pilot and co-pilot had both lost their lives you were the only one breathing in there, so I quickly took you out of there before the plane explode." He said. "Oh is that true? I was in a plane? I don't remember anything, I don't even know who I am." I said after bursting out in tears. It was so difficult for me, how did I lost my memory? His daughter asked me to be calm and promised everything was going to be okay. She said with time I could regain my memory but I was still scared, what if i never remembered where I came from? Was I going to stay in the grasslands for ever knowing I probably have a family somewhere searching on me? "Enough of that woman, you've spoken a lot, it's not good for your health, please be calm. Now you need something to eat and get adequate rest." The man addressed me. He had been talking to me all this while without me knowing his name. I asked to know his name. "Gerald." He said vividly. His daughter had gotten into the kitchen to get me something. A few minutes later, she came back with the tray of food in her hands. It was not the kind of food I normally eat, deep down in me I could feel it. Though I had lost my memory, I knew I deserved better than that, but I had no choice rather than to leave according to their rules. You all know this popular phrase. "When you are in Rome you behave like they do." Haha.... it was that for me for the time I spent with them in the grasslands. Right back in Brazil, the company with which I travelled called my family to inform them about my sudden accident. My baby sister Kourtney was instantly informed by my husband, who could not take the news it was unbelievable for him. A few hours later, we had been kissing and had even made promises to ourselves, and now what? Someone called to inform him about the demise of his wife? My best friend couldn't get the news. Helene wept and wept and continued weeping. She found refuge in Joseph's hands, who promised her I wasn't dead. "I know she was your friend and you loved her so much, but there is one thing I can assure you , she's not dead, I know Jane is somewhere and in good hands." He said that to console himself. "What are you even talking about, Joseph? Didn't you get the man? He said Jane and the pilots were all lifeless and you are here giving me hopes?" Helene burst into tears. Kourtney had been trying to absorb what she had just heard. "Jane dead? It can't be possible. We had a conversation last night. She promised to pay me a visit in some few days. I'll message her and she will reply to me. I know she isn't dead." She said, in her bag was her phone. She took it out and messaged me, but no reply. . "I'll wait, she must be occupied. Once she sees my message she will reply to it. I know she is alive. I can feel it." She added. She turned and saw Helene in Joseph's arms. She knew he was only trying to comfort her. If there was anything real, it was my friendship with Helene. She stayed right by my side anytime I needed help. 2 to 3 days later, my family were still in search of me. They got to the area where the accident occurred but they saw nothing which could trace me to where I was, they only found my marriage ring which lied next to the exploded plane. "That's my wife's ring." Joseph screamed out when he discovered that. "This is an indication that your wife was on this plane, Mr. Cook, I'm sorry for your loss. Please be strong for your family. I know how painful this can be." The man in charge of my case said while tapping my husband's shoulders. Helene accompanied him. She wanted to aid in my research. Three days without having me by her side was traumatizing. The agent's words left her helpless. The pain was so intense, so all-consuming, that she no longer knew where she was.... white-hot knives were piercing every inch of her skin, her head was surely going to burst with pain, she was screaming more loudly than she'd ever screamed in her life. Two weeks passed and my family decided to bury an empty coffin. It was a way of them of respecting my demise. There was no way my husband could move on without paying me homage, as they all thought I was dead. The day was bright that morning. It began as a whispering in the air. The day had been beautiful and the sky was like a dome of plasma-blue, the clouds had looked like airy anvils drifting under the gleaming disc of sun. The moon seemed to turn leaves into a flaming patchwork of colors. Scorching yellows, lava reds and burnished brown, it added an alien glamour to a perfect scene. After the coffin was buried, Joseph decided to stay a little bit longer. He found it so hard to accept that I was gone. Helene was in the area and wished to spend more time before going home. She had no idea Joseph was still in the area. "Oh are you still here?" She asked politely. "Yes. I just can't forgive myself. I'm the reason my wife died without giving us a child. I thought we had enough time, I had no idea she was going to leave me two years after our marriage." Joseph said as he cried out. "I don't think it's your fault, nature decided otherwise and there was nothing we could do." "I should be the person being buried now and not my wife. She did not deserve this. I am responsible for her death. I pushed her into traveling against her will." "You are not, you weren't the pilot, so stop this." Helene said as she tried calming him down. Helene, in an attempt to comfort Joseph, invited him over to her apartment. She made him a cup of coffee and served it to him. She could not just stand and watch him destroy himself while he still had a life. Jane is dead but life continues..... A few hours after Joseph took his coffee, he seemed tired and needed help. Helene was available for him and she went helping out. But it didn't turn out as she expected. They found themselves exchanging kisses. Next , they found themselves in Helene's room and, before they could realize, they were naked and just had s*x. "Did we just have s*x?"
