Akihiko’s Side [1:23p.m.] [6th October, 2019] [A Certain Bar] [Private Coffee Lounge] “You swayed the feelings of my girlfriend.” We rented a private room for us to talk to in A Certain Bar. Gabriel and I were seated face to face with a small table in between us. Geoffrey and Jose were there to moderate us in case it all went south. It was his first time in the bar and he was surprised to find a lot of Celestial beings inside. He knew that we were friendly so he did nothing. He’s still human so there was no guarantee for us. “I don’t know what you are talking about, Kuroshiro.” “You know very well what I am talking about, Ferrer.” “So how does it feel?” “What do you mean?” “How does it feel that your girlfriend is falling in love with another man?” I gritted my teeth, but I have to remain calm or else it would blow up into a mess and I would be the losing end. He’s taunting me. “It wasn’t in my plan to make her like me. I was planning to prepare her in case you die. Cheaters deserve to die, right?” “I’ll admit that I was in the wrong there newcomer. I was just used to it… impregnating women and then having the Incubus Hunt discover them so that they have a case. Do you understand?” “Well there are new incubi and succubi that have already replaced you and we caught three already. You know, Kuroshiro, if you don’t change your ways I could kill you.” He then glared at the moderators, “You know I’m right, do not deny it.” Jose glanced at me and nodded. Geoffrey just stayed silent. He knew that Gabriel was right but he’s loyal to me for I am his godfather. “Do you remember the twenty-seven-year-old office lady you screwed last week? She was scarred for life and she resigned from her work. I helped her get back to her feet by speaking to the higher-ups about her case. You almost got her pregnant, but thanks to me she’s still in one piece. Now think about your past targets… Think about how mentally scarred they were when they found out that they were carrying your seed.” “… … …” “If you have nothing to say then its best if you leave.” Gabriel stood up and opened the door for me, “I still have to talk to those blokes.” “He’s going to stay,” Geoffrey stood up and closed the door. “You need to go back to your seat.” “I don’t need a criminal in the room. I still have a succubus case to review,” he glared at me. “He got the point, and you said it yourself last week, New York Incubus is dead,” Jose sighed. “If he got the memo then he would not dare make another misstep. As of now, you are at a standstill…” He nodded and I still stayed silent… pondering… wondering… I thought that I was already becoming human but I realized that I was still the same demon that I was… just making things worse for the humans. I remembered the time when I was already in love long ago. Back then it was Leda… but the Evil Witch lingered within my thoughts and exacted hear jealousy to kill my Leda. I should’ve thought better of myself. “So tell me what’s your story, Gabriel,” Geoffrey crossed legs and chugged his black coffee like the Russian that he was. It looked manly to us, but to Gabriel, it didn’t. “Don’t do that again,” Gabriel pressed his eyelids shaking his head off. “If I tell you my story, all of you will have to do the same.” “Even him?” Jose pointed his thumb at me. “His story is the most interesting of all but it will take a while. Do you perhaps, have a date?” “I cancelled all of it,” Gabriel sat back in front of me. “I don’t mind… as long as I get to listen to your lore. Shall we begin?” “Si, puedes comenzar,” Jose stared at him flatly. There was silence for a brief moment. “You know that I speak Russian, right?” Geoffrey glanced at him. “Akihiko is Japanese and Gabriel is Filipino. Do you think we’d get to understand what you are talking about, little man?” “Dios mio,” Jose hit his head on the table. “What I said was ‘YES, HE CAN START’!!!” “January 1st of 2014, We were just celebrating New Year when those Celestial beings started to appear and the world became as chaotic as it is now. My family was the first of the casualties but I luckily survived because the dormant power inside of me awakened. I was able to salvage a few of my families belongings and set on a journey on my own while keeping my powers to myself. I was afraid of the purge of the witches, wizards, and the hybrids. I thought that I was a hybrid too thinking that one of my ancestors were probably a Celestial being. It could be a possibility but it didn’t work that way though…” “The concept of hybridization with humans is an interesting topic,” Jose explained. “You see Celestial genes will only work on the first generation meaning that when… for example, I get to have a son of my own, the Celestial genes will disappear. You may now continue…” “Eventually, I heard of rumors of a hidden city in Samar… It’s one of the Islands in the eastern part of Central Philippines. There were rumors about this City of the Missing, Biringan (BEE-RIN-GAN). Using the powers I gain to create portals, I was able to tap into their world. They were welcoming and they warmly took me in without hesitation. There was a sage there who could see through memories and saw what I’ve been through. I found out that I was unique in the sense that I was the only pure human to ever gain such power. I stayed there for two years and kept everything about their existence a secret when I left. I received a blessing from the dwarves, the fairies, the kapre… gigantic hairy men who loved smoking tobacco, and some other spirits and elementals… So I joined the Filipino Branch of Anti-devil Agency and they gave me the nickname Demon Slayer… that’s it.” “So you’re from Biringan City, the two are from Antarctic Sanctuary, and I’m a freelancer,” Jose nodded. “It sounds legit. How far can you port?” “Probably about one hundred kilometers… I think.” “Approximately 60 to 65 miles then,” Jose computed using the genius brain of his. “Have you tried to open a portal to the Others Side?” “I tried, but it didn’t work. Biringan City was once part of the Other Side… but for some reason, it was also trapped here in the Real World.” Gabriel stood up and stretched his arms out. “So who goes next?” [A few hours later…] “So you’re telling me that they are planning to revive the Evil Witch in Vatican City, is that right?” Gabriel sighed. “Men, the irony of canonizing the Evil Witch to martyrdom… What the hell happened to Christianity?” *KNOCK*KNOCK*KNOCK* All of us turned to the door. Staring back at us, Gabriel went and opened it. The waitress, who was also a Celestial being in hiding appeared pale for some reason. “Sirs, you need to see the news right now,” she grabbed his hand and led him out. “CHECK YOUR PHONES!” He yelled at us from the outside. “Miscalls,” I checked my phone, “from Anti-devil Agency…” I hurried outside to see the news. Jose and Geoffrey also checked their phones and followed me outside. We were met by darkness outside the private lounge. Some were looking out through the glass window panes while others were watching the news on live TV. “…this sudden surge of darkness high above the skies here in New York could only be the work of the devils! We advise everyone evacuate to the nearest shelters, leave all your belongings, and take cover. We are under a critical state of emergency, this is a mandatory evacuation…” “We need to leave. Something’s not right,” Geoffrey magically summoned out his sniper rifles. “It looks like our fellow hybrids and Celestial beings got the memo.” Truth be told, we weren’t the only ones in disguise within the confines of the agency and other agencies, most of us in A Certain Bar were actually agents as well. All of us equipped ourselves and prepared for the unannounced raid to our city. Gabriel summoned out his sword-etched quarterstaff, “The darkening of the skies could only mean one thing… vampires.” “We need to meet up with the squad,” I summoned out my katana. “I’m worried about the family…” “The f**k is happening anyway?” Confused and agitated, Gabriel glared at us. “Is this the Evil Witch’s doing? Maybe, she’s still after you, Incubus!” Is it my fault again? “You can’t just assume things Agent Ferrer,” Jose summoned out his bombs. “There must be some other reason.” “We need to prioritize the safety of the civilians,” I opened the door to the private lounge. “You’ll need to use that portal to get us to the frontlines.” Calming himself down, Gabriel entered the room as we followed closely behind him, “Northeast… we’re going there. It must be those werewolves that invaded Canada…” “Jefferson County,” I showed him the map through my phone. “Can you take us there?” “The f**k,” Gabriel glared at me. “That’s about… uh… hey, will you search the net?” “245 miles straight line,” Geoffrey was way ahead and showed the online results. “That’s about porting at least three times.” “It would f*****g exhaust my energy…” he groaned. “They’re headed for New York City. By that time, the military and the agencies here in the entirety of New York, as a state, as a whole, would eventually slow them down or even stop them. Assuming that they are after you, they would rush here in New York City and ignore other parts of the state.” “Why do you assume that it’s always him?” Geoffrey started to get irritated. “Come on, be rational. I don’t want to stab you in the heart to shut you up,” he calmly glared at the dhampir. “The lustful devils, they came for you Akihiko. We caught three of them… they basically failed, so what do you think they’ll do?” “Send the rest of their army…” Jose sighed. “What do you suggest that we’d do?” “Go back to the agency and see what the higher ups think of the situation,” Gabriel goes out of the lounge. “If my deductions are correct, all of the werewolves in Canada would concentrate their attacks here in New York City. Nuclear warfare didn’t work, did it?” “It didn’t work because of MAGIC and stuff, you know… they were scared that their missiles might magically Magneto itself back to them,” Geoffrey groaned and soon followed as we headed out as well. “All threats of Nuclear warfare had been disabled... Ever heard the news about North Korea getting erased out of the map? You’re from the Philippines, it must be a big issue.” “Yeah… so that damned unicorn lover committed g******e because of his arrogance…” Jose sarcastically joked. “I was thinking… What if I go ahead and see for myself if I’m the one that they’re after?” “That’s foolish,” Geoffrey hit my forehead. “Do you want to die?” “Estupido!” Jose kicked me in the ass. “Are you even thinking, Jap?!” “You know that the New York Incubus… is dead… right?” Gabriel suddenly made a realization. “Holy s**t…” “Remember the rumors years ago that you are the overlord of the State of New York?” “I heard about that,” Jose glanced at Geoffrey. “Do you think they believe that he’s one of the Overlords?” “Yeah, his death meant that New York is open for invasion!” Geoffrey rubbed his forehead. “That is farfetched… and the idea itself is very convoluted to even process…” Gabriel looked puzzled. “Do you mean to say that other states he in the US have something like that? Jesus Christ this devil situation is confusing!” Actually, it was all four of us that made the realization… The news of my death… the New York Incubus’ death…
