Chapter 4

"What happened?" Dominic asked

"You know I told you I was selected for the contract I have been vying for and was to go sign it by noon today." The guy stuffed a mouthful of popcorn in his mouth and continued amidst tears "The man changed his mind at the last minute and he refused to let us sign the contract. It was as if an evil spirit threatened him to not let us sign. Dominic, the pen was already in my hand ; just to sign and he retrieved it back"

Dominic stared at him and said "It might be for the better. Your father got buried not long ago and you're already thinking of signing a contract. It might arouse suspicion " The guy scoffed and said "So now, you believe in superstitious beliefs?" "No, people around you do" Dominic said.

The guy sniffed, sat straight up and mumbled "It makes me feel real less to you and my elder brother. You guys are just too perfect" "Carl, did you pray before heading to sign the contract?"

"Aaargh!!! I'll go pick a room and sort out my thoughts there" Carl said picking his stuffs and leaving the sitting room as Dominic's gaze followed him emotionlessly...

The next day, Ravenna was sitting in her office checking out the scroll of the new deal she had made the previous day. She looked at the declared payment method and grinned. Then, Kael appeared holding a tablet "Have you found out about our next victim?" Ravenna asked "Yes" Kael said and went to drop the tablet in front of Ravenna which shows the details of someone.

"Dominic Williams, a 28 years old C.E.O. Handsome and charming. Hardworking and never relenting. Religious and takes going to church a priority. Kind and nice to all his fellows." Kael announced "Is that all?" Ravenna asked "That's all" "No pics?" "I think he doesn't take pics" "No bad records?" "Seems so" "He is kind and nice?" "Sure. And also, he is absolutely wealthy".

Ravenna sighed like someone breaking down "Why doesn't he have a bad record?" "My lady, are you trying to have a change of mind?" Kael asked "The affliction is too great for someone with no bad records"

Kael stretched his hands and something like a treasure box appeared, then he placed it in front of Ravenna "My lady, I have already gone to the man's house to reveive the payment" Ravenna opened the box and saw several shining golden ornaments, cups and other objects. Her mouth was widely opened as she stared at these in aww

"Oh my! That old man is surely loaded"

"Does my lady still want to have a change of mind?" Kael asked as Ravenna closed the box and said "I'm not a good person after all. No harm in doing my job" She gave a toothy smile as Kael smiled too.

"Go check out his itineraries for me and find out a good spot for me to meet with him. I should get the job done quickly and get all of these" Ravenna said and hugged the box "Yes miss" Kael answered and disappeared...

In the evening, Dominic was returning home from work. He stopped by a grocery store to get some groceries. He returned to his car after he was done, put the stufds on the passenger seat and continued driving. Then, Ravenna appeared at the back seat of his car.

"Woah! This guy's car is so cozy. I should buy myself a baby like this after I'm done with this job ... Well, let me enjoy the comfiness of his car for a while, he can't see me anyways" Ravenna thought, stretched herself and raised and hand like she was sieving in the air in the car, then she covered her face with her hand allowing her hair to fall over her face.

Dominic who felt something was going on at the back seat of his car glanced at the rearview mirror and saw a lady covering her face with her hand.

Thinking it was Annabel , he closed his eyes and exhaled, then quietly parked his car and got out. Ravenna raised her head and thought "What? Is he going somewhere around here?"

She was still thinking when the door to the back seat opened, she got pulled out and heard "Annabel, haven't I told you to stop following me?" She looked up and stared at the man who had pulled her out ...
