Chapter 6

City A Church

On a Sunday, the scene shows Dominic with all other members of the church attentive to the pastor's sermon. In a while, the service ended and everybody dispersed. Dominic was going to enter his car when he saw someone familiar walking majestically towards him.

She was dressed in a red gown, red hat and was wearing deep dark glasses. She swayed her hips effortlessly and each steps carried out by her red pointing heels was with valour. Her lips which were painted ruby red parted unconsciously at each interval, seemingly seductive. She stopped two meters away from Christopher, folded her arms and said "Hallo, you remember me?"

"I should be able to complete the task today right here, where there are many to view his display of madness" Ravenna thought while smiling but Dominic's response made her smile freeze "Yes, I remember you, miss stalker" Dominic replied calmly "Are you stalking me again?"

Ravenna scoffed and said "I already told you I'm not a stalker. I'm too busy to engage in that... Okay, let's say I'm stalking you... I am trying to do my job"

"You finally admitted to it ... So, you were hired to stalk me?" Dominic asked.

Ravenna snickered "My job is more than that..." She adjusted her glasses and said "I... don't know how you got to see me last... I don't care about it. So, I want you to know who I am and I want to see fear on your face, before I complete my task" "Fear?" Dominic asked.

"Yes, fear. I haven't seen any emotion on your face since I have been talking to you. At your last moment, I want to see fear on your face and that would surely be the trigger to your fate" Ravenna said and smirked stepping back a little to be in line with someone who was going to pass where she was standing "When this person passes through me, I would see if you can still regard me as a human or a stalker" She thought as her smirk grew wider.

Just a little bit when the person was about to pass through Ravenna, Dominic quickly pulled her into his arms. The person passed but glanced and nodded his head at Dominic before walking away. Ravenna, whose head rested on Dominic's chest was confused and her mouth was slightly opened. Her hat had already fallen down leaving her hair to flow freely in the breeze.

Dominic blinked repeatedly and asked "Are you going to stay glued to my chest?" Ravenna scoffed and said "You're still holding my hand" Dominic quickly let go of her hand as Ravenna looked up at him. Their face was in close proximity, but ... DISDAIN! ... was the expression plastered on Ravenna's face.

She stepped back, folded her arms and asked "Why did you pull me?" "Didn't you know he was going to bump into you?" "Bump into me? Do you think just anyone can bump into me?" Ravenna said pointing to herself.

"Well, some people do like that and act as if they do not see just to bump into the person. Do you have a beef with the person?" Dominic asked

"No, mutton. It's a mutton" Ravenna said whilst scoffing "Anyways, I do not have time for this. I should find another trigger ..."

Dominc bent down and picked Ravenna's hat, dusted it, then put it on her head. "The sun is hot... I should get going now. See you next week Sunday, if you're willing to come... for the service" He said and got into his car , then drove off, leaving Ravenna frustrated...

Ravenna sat down on sofa thinking on how Dominic pulled her to avoid getting bumped into and how he picked up her hat and dusted it, then put it on her head "Aish! He's too nice for his own good. Well, it's saving him from receiving the grudge... Aiyah! Will I be able to complete this task? Oh! My golden treasures! ... sniffs ..."

Kael appeared at that moment without falling down. He looked pleased with himself and said "My lady, were you able to complete the task?" "No, he's someone with no bad records and always do good deeds. I find it hard to just do that to him" Ravenna answered

"You find it hard to do that to him or he frustrated you and you weren't able to do that to him" Kael said as Ravenna glared at him, but Kael smiled sweetly "What? You're getting bolder for no reason" Ravenna said "My lady, you have two new clients" "I don't have time for them, treat them until I am able to attend to them." Ravenna said "Alright" Kael answered.

"By the way..." Ravenna said and opened her palm as a little jade fit enough to be engraved into a cufflink appeared on it "Do you think this jade's worth is almost equal to those golden treasures the man gave me?"

Kael stared carefully at the jade and said "It feels like a key to a safe for treasures" "Huh?" "Look at the shape, it seems to have been carefully carved. It should be a key to somewhere and that should be where real treasures lies" Kael finished.

Ravenna adjusted her sitting posture and said "I'll take your words for it and take a different approach to this task" "What different approach?" Kael asked "Tch! Don't ask me" Ravenna said sneering at him...
