Chapter Four
Chante stepped down from the curb in front of the café. She refused to look back. She knew that the silhouette of Leo Cadman would be visible even from outside. His dejection was hard to bear. But Chante knew she did the right thing.
She determined that breaking up with Leo would be difficult. But it was harder to live with the guilt that hounded her every single day. Ever since the night she spent in the arms of Jared, she knew this time would come.
But she was wracked with uncertainty as well and that was not something she wanted Leo to see. When Leo asked her why, she didn’t know how exactly to answer the question. But Leo was intuitive and when he asked if there was someone else, Chante nodded her head indicating he was right.
