Chapter 3- The game begins

"Who are you"  A very vague question... one could easily deviate from the truth. Well, a short version of the truth is not quite a lie, but a test to see if the person is as clever as I. "Ash. Ash Deva. I heard from your other guests that you are the sister of the bride?" I inquired further, trying to distract her. I smiled as she looked at me, wanting to seem as normal as possible. Her brown eyes seem to harden as she stared at me, suddenly flashing a shade of red that only confirmed my suspicions.  Ive found her. "You said you knew my family?" She inquired stiffening out of her relaxed posture. "Yes, a friend of your late father." I tipped my drink as i brought it to my lips again to show her my condolences without saying so. She paused. A smile spread across her face slowly, "you knew him?" She was so trusting.  "Yes quite well...some could say we were brothers." I said with a flourish, disappointed in her trusting nature. Maia's view- She looked at Ash closely. He looked like he was not much older than she was. In all honesty, he didnt look old or young...but something about him told her to be cautious. She hadnt been able to control herself when hed said her name. Now she brought her boiling drink to her lips, in an effort to to pretend as if nothing had happened. She was surprised the glass hadnt shattered at the sudden change of temperature in the liquid. As a bus boy walked by with a tray, i turned to leave my drink on it. Something flashed in Ash's eyes. Had he noticed my drink?  I sighed inwardly. "Would you care for a dance?" I asked trying to distract him. "You know how to dance bachata?" He asked surprised. I smirked, "there is only one way to find out". Something about this person wasnt right. But yet again, it could be me over reacting to him catching me off guard more than once. I let him lead towards the floor as the song changed, letting the melody slowly fill my ears. Ash offered his hand a few steps ahead of me. I took it carefully while stepping close to him. Placing my other hand on his shoulder, i took the opportunity to search the other dancers for my sister. "Do try not to trip" he whispered in my ear, amused by my distraction. I hadnt noticed how close in height we were, I reached him to his jaw. The song began slowly. God how i loved this music, whether it be a song about love or just a ballad...dancing it was an art. I smiled as i fell into a familiar step, wonderfully surprised he knew how to dance. He seemed to be pleasantly surprised as well, with a seductive smirk plastered on his face. The dance floor had been beautifully decorated. My sister insisted on continuing her fairy tale setting in everything. Even her guests were to dress as if they were in the fairy realm. My soft pink dress had to get butterflies and pearls hand stitched to it at certain points. Making me look as if i had been attacked by the blue fairy from every story tale. Shed only allowed my ruby drop pendant because it played along with the theme. Ash took a step back from me, allowing his hands to wrap around my waist. Slightly pulling so as to allow me to lead. I took the opportunity to turn and flipped my hair forward to my right side. Grabbing both his hands in mine as I placed them on my hips and continued to dance in step. I could feel his soft chuckle as we danced together. "You are definitely your fathers daughter" he emphasized under his breath, as if i couldnt hear. I turned again this time inside his hold, flipping my hair so as to pull his attention to my chest area. I could feel his amusement had been peaked. "This should be interesting" he said as his eyes gleamed.
