68th Tick: Gira

1039 Words
Faced with two demons of the demon general level, the chances of victory for Thomas and Captain Wave had gone down drastically. Captain Wave needed to exert himself to a large extent just to defeat Mini, but with the introduction of Gira, the situation had turned to the worst. “If you tell me where the Devil is, I’ll leave.” Thomas suggested to Gira. The demon looked at Thomas and scratched his chin. He reached out, ever so slowly and rhythmically. He pointed at Thomas’ head and said, “I do not know the location of the Devil. It is something you are supposed to figure out, is it not? What is your purpose for questioning the demon generals?” “Purpose?” “Why are you attacking the demon generals?” Gira emphasised. “I have heard, you have come in contact with Bry previously, visited the town of the late Astel and even Episode.” The demon paused and asked slowly, “We’re you the one who killed Episode?” Thomas stopped in place. He never expected demons to want to get revenge for their fellow kind. He had not killed Episode, but he might as well have after the wish he made with WishEarth. Thomas shook his head and said, “Unfortunately, I was not the one to kill him. But I can call over the one who did.” The demon put his hand in front of him, his palm facing Thomas. “Stop right there. I do not want to meet this person, I will find him myself.” The demon put his hand down, mirrors appearing. He stomped on Captain Wave and told Thomas, “If you have nothing else, I request that you leave.” “Refused.” Thomas pulled his arm back. “Fifth Hour.” His arm sped up in time, hitting Gira with enough force to shatter Thomas’ hand. Thomas made contact with the demon cleanly without Gira being able to put up his guard. Thomas blinked and he was on the ground, his jaw dislocated. He blinked a few times, the pain subsiding and his body turning back time. He put his jaw back together, eyes wide. Gira was unaffected, and Thomas had just taken a massive hit despite having landed a clean hit. “What the...” He whispered. Thomas’ hair fell to his eyes, his hair an absolute mess. He got up and faced Gira once again. Mini was in the background, observing them carefully. It was better to split up, Thomas needed Captain Wave back in action, but he was still unconscious from the shock. He said, “Zeroth Hour.” He walked up to Mini, wrestling one of her daggers out of her hands. He then sliced her head off before walking to Gira and slicing his head off as well. Thomas resumed time, hoping it was over. Mini’s head started to fall, but she held it in place. Gira simply looked at Thomas as Thomas’ vision slanted slightly before turning dark. He appeared beside his corpses, eyes wide as the corpse disappeared. He was sure he cut the demon’s head off, why was he not dead? For that matter, why was Mini not dead as well? Thomas was about to pick the dagger up when Mini appeared, grabbing it. Thomas stepped back warily. They did not attack him, in fact, Thomas had suffered from attacking them. He had no doubt that they could have killed him a countless times by then. Thomas took a deep breath and swiped his hair up. There was only one way to fight them. He ran up to Captain Wave and pulled him away, the clock still above his head. Thomas slapped him a few times before Mini grabbed his neck, tearing him away from Thomas. Captain Wave woke up, and Thomas shouted, “Good luck with this side!” He lunged at Gira. He needed to let Captain Wave have a chance to win, he needed to stall Gira for as long as it took for Thomas to find a weakness. He grabbed Gira by the waist. “Ninth Hour.” They both sunk into the ground, leaving Mini and Captain Wave in the forest. Captain wave regained composure, but was instantly decapitated. He revived and hovered in the sky. Mini did not immediately attack, but was instead looking around, confused. Her eyes reflected a kind of fear, uneasiness. Was that what she was when separated from Gira? Captain Wave pointed at Mini while she was distracted. He was preparing to use Blast, the time he spent unconscious had recovered enough magic power to fire at least one or two. He was ready, aimed and fired. Mini realised too late, but it did not matter, Captain Wave fell to the ground, a hole in his gut. He slammed face first into the ground, and had to be revived another time. Gira stood there, unfazed by the attack. He hugged Mini close as he held a mirror in his hand. In it was a sleeping figure of Thomas Thompson. Captain a wave looked up, the clock above him was starting to fade out. He cursed and stepped back, but Mini raised and slashed down with both daggers. He tried his best to dodge, but the red slashes stopped and changed directions at him. He jumped out of the way, hovering slightly. He looked at the mirror in Gira’s hands. From what he could tell, Mini was more specialised in physical attacks while Gira had some type of ability to control mirrors. Captain Wave changed gravity to shoot him at Gira, travelling fast enough to slam into him with a bang. Gira held a mirror between them, the damage bouncing off and doing nothing as a result. Captain Wave looked into the mirror, seeing himself in it. Gira said, “Who is your greatest rival?” Captain Wave’s image reached out and choked him, pulling him in. Gira looked down on Captain Wave and continued. “Your greatest rival is yourself.” Captain Wave tried to pull away, attempting to pry his own fingers off. He scratched at the hands, opening wounds that also appeared on his hands. Captain Wave struggled, unable to hold on much longer. “That is the weakness and sin of humans.” Gira said. “Selfish, self-absorbed, undeserving creatures that take things for granted. Go to the never ending void.”
