69th stick: Desperation

1058 Words
Captain Wave had several thoughts running through his mind. He was about to be imprisoned like Thomas Thompson, and he was unlikely to be able to escape or survive without him. He had one goal, and that was to free Thomas Thompson. As long as he was around, they could have as many second chances as needed. Captain Wave looked up at Gira, then at the mirror with Thomas in it. He tried reaching out and reaching for it, but it floated further away. Gira gave Captain Wave a calm stare and said, “Useless.” “Shut up...!” Captain Wave muttered, still struggling. He had the side of his face in the mirror, and he was unable to tho against the force. He looked at the mirror with Thomas in it again before he gritted his teeth, saying, “You’ve forced my hand.” Gira looked at him, confused. Captain Wave pointed up at him, but his finger was cut off by Mini. He concentrated his power at his chest, he felt the gravity within increasing tenfold, hundredfold, thousandfold. So small, the size of an atom, yet strong enough to absorb everything around it. He faced Thomas’ mirror once more and said, “You better bring me back.” In a split moment, Captain Wave was consumed, disappearing altogether. The trees bent in the direction of the force. Gira looked at it calmly while Mini staggered slightly before getting caught by Gira. He sighed, already knowing Captain Wave’s intentions for doing what he did. The black hole grew instantly, a little more than a second and it had almost consumed Gira and Mini. He spread his hand and swiped down. Captain Wave was simply unlucky. The ability to control gravity was to draw things closer, at least, that was the basic concept. To make yourself the center of gravity to the extent of creating a black hole, it involved a lot of absorbing. In other words, the basic concept was to pull or absorb. However, what was a mirror? Gira did not just have an ability over mirrors, there was the properties of mirrors. They reflect light, in other words, they repel or push. He was able to control the pushing and repulsion of almost anything. He could repel force, light, magic and even whole people. So to counter the concept of gravity’s a absorption, he simply needed to dispel whatever force was in the middle by repelling. He did just that, reversing the effect of the black hole. A strong wind passed through the whole forest, leaves falling around the two demons who stood victorious. Gira extended a hand towards Mini. “So... I heard you made a new kind of pie. Can your brother try it?” They returned to the castle. Such were the demon generals. Like two sides of the same coin, they helped each other cover for their own weaknesses. They were born as twins and had a deep connection. Whatever one felt, the other could feel too. They knew whatever the other was thinking without fail. Most notably, you are simply unable to kill one of them without the other one also dead. They were born together, lived together and were going to die together. Such were the demon generals, the two of them only held one position as they needed no more. They may as well be the same person by split. Such were the twin demon generals. Such was Gemini. Somewhere else, Rose was lying down on her bed when she saw Truth float above her. Rose was bored out of her mind, and the crew were panicking over where their captain had went. Rose, already knowing, was just relaxing. It was obvious what they had gone to dine, especially considering Thomas’ actions since she first met him. “Do you need anything?” Rose asked the fairy. “Not really.” She replied. “Say, Elizabeth, since when did you become an Angel?” “Um... never?” Rose replied honestly. “I see, you’re quite committed to your role as acting as a human. Interesting indeed. Good on you, Elizabeth.” Rose could not find the opportunity to tell Truth that her name was not actually Elizabeth, but Rose Gold. She gave up halfway after seeing the fairy nod in understanding. There was a few seconds of silence before the fairy asked her, “So, why did you come down to the human world?” “Why are you asking me that?” Rose countered. “I don’t know. It’s rare for an Angel to be roaming the human world.” “I just want to explore what the human world had to offer.” Rose said, only half lying. “I see... so Heaven is too boring for you? I can relate, the only things they ever do there is talk and chitchat.” Truth yawned and stretched while hovered in the air. “How did you even become an Angel? It had to be before the Great War, right?” “What War?” “So you became an Angel after? You must be one lucky being.” Truth told her. “The Great War was an event that happened a few decades before the war with humans. Not sure what the humans call their war, but I think both were called the Great War.” Truth scratched her chin for a few moments before shrugging. “I’ll tell you another time.” Someone barged into her room, a young sailor with a panicked expression. He faced Rose and said, “The captain has disappeared.” “Where?” Rose asked. “Are there any clues to his whereabouts?” “The man you were travelling with has also disappeared. The crew would like to know his potential involvement in the matter. Rose sighed and stood up, walking out of the room. She asked the sailor, “If I can help, do I get to become captain for a day?” “Until we find out captain, you may order us around.” “Neat. Sounds fun.” Rose stretched and walked forward. She said while walking, “Time to set off, we will almost be at the island where your captain might be on. There’s no time to waste anymore.” “Are you certain?” “Yes.” “Under what basis?” Rose patted his shoulder and pointed at herself. “Trust my gut feeling.” She stood where the captain would normally stand, a stolen captain’s hat on her head. To be honest, she was playing around, but it did not matter much. She pointed in a general direction and shouted, “Let’s sail!”
