SUZAN'S POV
By the time Julian and I got home, I was completely drained—emotionally, mentally, physically. Even forcing a fake smile felt impossible.
"Okay, baby. Go to your room. If you need anything, you know where to find me," I murmured, my voice weaker than I wanted it to be.
Julian nodded but hesitated for a moment before walking off. I didn't have the energy to figure out why.
As soon as I reached my room, I peeled off my clothes and climbed into bed, pulling the blanket up to my chin. My body ached, but it was nothing compared to the storm inside my head.
