Chapter 6

I laid in my bed. Silence filled the house after I had stormed back to my room. It has been a few hours and every once in a while I felt something was really off. I felt like I was being watched and it is rather unnerving.      A knock came at the door. I didn't answer. The door opened and then closed quietly. The bed dipped near my head. I didn't look to see who it is. The room grew cold. I shivered. The bed shifted and the unwelcomed company laid down. Their head next to mine. My legs dangled off the side of the bed.      Silence remained in my room. The breathing next to me is heavy and the room is still growing colder. The air became heavy and unsafe. I closed my eyes when I realized what was happening. I looked to my right, where I will see the head of the other person. My heart dropped to my stomach. I let out a scream and fell off my bed. The demon like creature let out a gurgling laugh. It stood up and began to creep towards me. I scooted back until my back hit the wall. I let out another scream as the creature came into full view.     "JAMES!" The screaming of my name came from down the hall. I couldn't answer back though. I sat there frozen as the demon stood over me, grinning evilly. It's left hand, no claw, flew out at me. I screamed again, only in pain this time. I felt the blood well from my arm, soaking my jacket.     The door flew open and Jackson stood there. His eyes went wide as he saw the demon. Harry made his way past Jackson and rushed to my side. He held out a crucifix. The demon let out a screech of anger. "I rebuke thee demon! In the name of Jesus Christ, I rebuke thee! Begone in the Lord's name!" Harry shouted. The demon let out a screech and disappeared in a flurry of fire and smoke, leaving behind scorched carpet.      I stared at the spot in shock. A demon, not a human, laid next to me on my bed. I have been attacked by a demon. "James, are you alright? Of course your not. That thing scratched the hell out of your arm." Harry said. He went over to the bed and took out a knife. He cut off some of the sheet and came back over to me. "Take your jacket off." He ordered. I carefully slipped the jacket off. He tied the cut sheet around my arm. "That should slow the bleeding down for the time being." I nodded.     "What the hell was that?" Bella shrieked.     "That was a rather powerful demon." Harry said. "One that you awakened because you insisted on playing with that damn board. The question you should be asking is why did it attack James and not the ones who foolishly allowed it in!" Harry snapped. He barely knows me, why is he being so protective.     "Harry, if I didn't know better, I would say that you have a crush on my little sister." Jackson said in amusement. I glared at Jackson while Harry flushed in embarrassment or anger.     "What do we do? We clearly can't stay here!" Livy said in fear.     "We need to leave!" Harry shouted. Harry grabbed my bags and rushed to his room. I followed close behind. He grabbed his bags and the others did the same thing. Harry grabbed my arm and we ran down the stairs. The others followed behind closely.      We got to the door. Harry grabbed the knob and tried to open the door. "Why is the door not opening? Check if it's locked!" Susan panicked.      "It isn't!" Harry shouted at her. He dropped the bags and tried opening the door again.        "You can't leave." Harry froze. We all turned to Edwin. Edwin is now pale, his eyes sunken into his face. "The spirits will not allow you to leave. They want to girl and they will have the girl." Edwin said, looking straight at me.     "Open the door!" I screamed. I started pulling at the door. The door creaked but refused to budge. "I don't want to be apart of this place! I refuse it! I hate it here." I looked at the large windows by the door. I ran to the family room and grabbed the poker. I ran back to the windows and started banging on them.         The glass cracked. "Give it to me." Harry took the poker and started hitting the glass harder than I could. The glass cracked some more before it busted open. I heard Edwin growl as Harry pushed me through. The others followed after us. We raced to the van, not bothering with our bags any longer.     I jumped into the passenger seat while Jackson got in the drivers seat. The others quickly got in. Jackson stepped on the pedal and we zoomed off. "Um, guys, we have a problem." Susan said.     "What can be worse than a demon appearing?" Bella shouted.     "Um, an army of Halloween décor that has sadly come to life. They look so evil." Susan explained. I screamed when a skeleton jumped on the front of the van. It started banging on the class. Jackson swerved the car, knocking the creepy thing off.      "Don't worry, James. These things, whatever they are, are not going to get you. We will protect you, even if that means dying ourselves!" Jackson declared.          "Don't say that! No one is going to die!" I cried out.     The van got knocked off its wheels. The van flipped, stopping when it hit a tree. Everything fell silent except for the ringing in my ear. I looked out the broken window at the mansion. The Halloween decorations back in place. It made no sense. They were just chasing us half way down the drive.     I looked at Jackson. His is c****d in an odd way and his eyes are opened, unmoving. Fear and sorrow clawed at my heart, but I couldn't cry. "B-Bella, Jackson, he's...he's dead." I whimpered. Bella let out a wail at the lost of her twin brother.      "Get out of the car. We need to get out." Emit gasped. I crawled through the broken window, wincing as glass cut my hands. Where did everything go wrong?
