Chapter-1 What if I can see?
*ALDID's point of view*
What if I can see is the only question that is stuck in my head and sucks my nerve all the time making me feel a bit low.
"Come out, you filthy creature," I came out of my trance with my father's yelling, fiercely knocking at my room's door.
I slide down my bed, pick my blind's cane and on the 10 steps count I reached my room's door.
I opened the door, and I felt a heavy, warm, anger breathe on my face.
I bend down and his punch missed my cheeks.
This is the defence technic, I learned in my self-defence training class when my mom was alive.
She is the one who always believes in me, treated me equally and raised me into a perfect boy.
"Oh, so sorry, I forget to introduce myself."
"Hi, my name is Aldid. Aldid means the vision or the sight, but unfortunately, I was born without a vision. I am born blind." I was one of the cursed children born on the cursed super moon night.
My parents weren't happy to hear that I will never be able to see.
My dad, Mr. Andrew Mason, the ex-alpha of the 'Divine light pack' always regrets my presence, whereas my mom took me as a blissful challenge.
She is the one who made me what I am today. A high school graduate, a black belt karate kid and a teacher in the nearby blind kindergarten school for the kids like me.
But she left me 5 years ago when she died saving me from a speedy truck collision.
I couldn't see what has happened that day. I only heard screams, ambulance sirens, mourns and my mom's last words.
"I love you, Aldid, always be strong."
At that time, I was only 17, It was very hard for me to live without her.
I never saw her face. I never knew how she looks? how she dresses up?
I can only feel her touch, her divine scent, and her alluring affectionate words.
I miss her all the time.
I understand my dad's hatred towards me, it is obvious and acceptable because he lost his Alpha rank because of me. Our pack rejected to have a blind alpha in the future and unison election, all pack members voted against him, and dad must leave the alpha house and reluctantly live his life as a normal wolf for a few months. He feels disgusted for his pack member changed behaviour towards our family and out of humiliation, one night, he along with us came to this town, miles away from our pack territory, leaving no traces of him behind, and started a new chapter of our life.
No one here knew us. All neighbours knew we shifted from France to start our new business, as dad narrated them a fictitious story.
Dad started a restaurant and a lake resort with all his savings. Mom always stood by him and helped him grow his business. Both worked laboriously to live as humans.
Now, I am 22 and lived with my father who only yells at me all the time.
"I wonder what if you can see?" he scoffed as I flawlessly defend his attack.
"Come down, breakfast is ready! I don't have the whole day for you." He rudely yelled walking away.
I hear some low footsteps fading away with his voice to the extreme right of me it means he has gone to his room.
I turned back in my room and on the step count of 6 to my left, I stepped into my washroom.
After completing my morning duties, I got ready for work.
I walked out of my room and steadily walked to the kitchen.
I pick the sandwich plate that was lying on the shelf at its regular place.
I am living a normal life like you all, just with a difference you guys see things with your eyes, and I see through my hands and nose.
"Hey, Champ!" Lea chirped stepping in the house,
Lea is my only friend and the one after my mom who believes in me. She finds me perfect in all aspects.
No...No... Lea is not like me; she can see the world with her beautiful dark brown eyes.
Now you guys will wonder, can I see?
No, I can't see in my human form but by the grace of the moon goddess, my wolf 'Max' can see.
He told me, how beautiful her brown eyes sparkle when she smiles,
"Hello, earth to Aldi," Lea chuckled patting on my shoulder,
"Hi Lea, how are you doing?" I asked coming out of my trance,
Her rose fragrance allured me as always.
"I am doing good, thank you!" she dryly replied
I sniffed some sadness in her answer.
"Lea, you know, you can't lie to me," I asked raising from my chair.
"I am fine, Aldi, let's go we are getting late for school," she demanded grabbing my hand
She handed me my bag, folded my cane and keep her other hand intact with my other hand.
We both are teachers in a nearby kindergarten school,
Dad never wanted me to join his restaurant business because he doesn't want me to set his restaurant on fire being blind. So, after completing my graduation. I passed the diploma in primary school teaching and luckily, I got recommended to teach all the technics I know to all the other perfect and imperfect kids like me.
Lea has always loved my company since we were children, and she is the only one so far with me. I don't know why and how she always got admitted to the same courses as I do.
She is talkative among us and the lovely pure soul to be around me. We both crossed the woods and the scent of pine trees, made my wolf moan.
Lea and others are still not aware of my wolf form. I shift for the first time at the age of 18 and after that secretively shifts during nights and run in the woods to enjoy the view.
Dad always warned me to not shift until it is no danger to my life and showing his strictness, he tied a special band made of silver and other elements around my wrist. The band has components that neither hurt me nor let me shift.
Maybe he is trying to save me from rogues because he always doubts my abilities and always ask What if I can see?
