Contract Marriage with a Billionaire

A DAY TO THE WEDDING Mina couldn't hide her happiness as she drove her car into her fiancé's house. She came out with a box of goodies as she planned to spend the night with her fiancé since the next day was their wedding. She glanced at the diamond ring in her middle finger and didn't know when a giggle left her lips. Not only that, but she just couldn't wait for tomorrow, when she would say ‘I do’ in front of her family and that of her fiancé’s. Standing at the front of the Jace’s house, Mina frowned and brought her phone to call Jace, her fiancé. “ I wonder why he is so busy that he can't pick my calls, doesn't he know that I miss him so much? Tomorrow is our wedding, and he couldn't give me a call” Mina pouted and exhaled before returning her phone to her bag. She walked into the villa and punched the code to the entrance door. It opened immediately, and a smile left her lips as she walked into the sitting room, her heels clicking as she walked. “ I wonder what he is doing?” Mina mumbled as she walked to the kitchen to check if Jace was there, but on getting there, it was empty. “ I guess he is either in his study or his room. I should check up on him” Mina said and dropped her bag on the sofa in the sitting room before making her way to Jace’s room, still holding the box of goodies in her hand. A few steps away from Jace's room, Mina began to hear some unusual voices coming from the room. She couldn't figure out whom the voices belonged to, but her heart began to race with every step she took. Her mind was running wild with different thoughts, but she tried to shake them off, trusting that Jace was unable to do something like that, most especially, when their wedding was the following day. When she finally got to the entrance door to Jace’s room, that was when it dawned on Mina that the voices from inside Jace’s room were that of his and a lady. Mina’s heart slapped against her chest like it was going to burst any time soon. She raised her hand to the door knob, but was unable to open it because her hand was shaking like a jellyfish. Mina exhaled slowly and grabbed the door knob before opening the door slowly, only to see the sight she had prayed to all the deities and God she believed in not to see. In front of her was her finance and her elder sister, cuddling and giggling in each other's arms. Mina didn't know when her hand flew to her mouth as she tried to muffle the sound that was about to tear out of her lips. “ Ja….. Jace” Mina's voice cracked as she couldn't form any more words out of her mouth. Her throat went dry immediately and no sound came out of her mouth, and despite how she struggled to create a word and tear herself out of this dilemma, it wasn't possible. “ Mina!” Jace called in surprise when he saw Mina standing in front of the door. He was surprised because he never expected her to come visit him when their wedding was supposed to be the next day. He thought that she would be busy shopping for her wedding accessories and so on, but never in his wildest dream would he have thought that she was going to visit him. “ What ... .what…is happening here…here?” Mina forced the word out of her mouth when the sight she was seeing wasn't pleasant and was heartbreaking. “ Why are you here? I…. I thought you went shopping?” Jade tried covering her question with another, but a glare from Mina made him shut up at once. “ Will you answer my question right now?” Mina asked, but her elder sister was fast to chirp in before Jace could say a word. “ Can't you tell? Or are your eyes suddenly blind?” Rosa asked shamelessly. “ I wasn't talking to you Rosa” Mina glared and returned her gaze back to Jace. “ I asked you a question, didn't I?” Mina asked, as she tried to control the tears threatening to fall off her eyes. “ As you can see, I am obviously in love with your sister, but I have to marry you so that your grandfather would acknowledge me and give me his company” Jace dropped the bombshell, catching Mina off guard that she had to hold the door for support. It felt as if her legs couldn't hold her weight anymore as it threatened to give out. “ Wha….what!” Mina exclaimed as the tears she had been trying so hard to hold back, fell freely from her already gloomy eyes. “ Yes, you heard him right. He is in love with me but needed to marry you to get Grandfather’s blessing and his company, since grandfather considered only you as his granddaughter” Rosa rolled her eyes and gave Jace a light peck on his cheeks. “ So you never loved me from the beginning? Not even for once? I was just a pawn in your dirty games?” Mina asked to be certain she heard right. “ Yes, and I will advise you to keep quiet since tomorrow is the wedding. Who would believe that I cheated on you a day before our wedding? No one obviously because they all considered me the decent guy who loves you from the moon and back” Jace wasn't remorseful as he shamelessly said those words right in Mina’s face. “ I hate you so much, Jace, and I hope you rot in hell for doing this to me!” Mina shouted, walking out of the room angrily with tears rolling down her eyes like a tap and her heels clicking as she walked away. She threw the box of goodies on the ground, took out the engagement ring Jace gave her before picking up her bag and stormed out of his villa. Her tears kept pouring in handfuls, and it wasn't stopping anytime soon. Mina kept driving without a particular destination until she met herself at a bar where she ordered three bottles of tequila. “ If this is how marriage would be, I would rather remain single for life.” Mina mumbled drunkenly. “ Jace and Rosa, mark my words, I will make you two pay for what you've done to me, even if it's the last thing I do” Mina muttered, her voice laced with determination and the strong will for revenge.
