Chapter 3

Eva’s POV

It feels like I have sat here forever, from the window I can see that everyone has exited the train and is now entering a huge building, I am worried that I may I have done something wrong and that they will send me back, I can’t let that happen, I cannot jeopardize my families survival, so even though the man named Kaden told me to sit I cannot let them take me back, with that I make my way to the exit, I look around making sure no one is watching the train, it is quite a huge step from the train to the ground, I am not a fan of heights so taking a deep breath I close my eyes and jump, only I did not reach the ground, I slowly open my eyes and I am meet with Kaden’s deep blue open, I shrike trying to get out of his arms, but he only tightens his grip and moves us back into the train, let me go I tell him, and start pushing against him again but he still got me so I turn and bite him on his hand he lets me go and I run.

I make it to the back of the train but there is no exits, I turn around to find Kaden walking towards me, he is already too close so i try to run past him but he grabs me again, I start thrashing about trying to set myself free, when he grabs m arms and pins me against the wall, stop it now growls out

No let me go I scream back at him trying to push him of me, this only makes him push me back harder into the wall, I said stop it or you going to hurt yourself little one he says

Kaden, I hear Ethan’s voice, Kaden turns his head to towards him, we need to go he says, I sigh internally at least he will let me go now, no, not without her he responds as his words register and start push him again trying to break free from his hold, Kaden let her go, you hurting her Ethan shouts, immediately Kaden releases his hold on me, I try to move away from him but he blocks my way

His eyes are traveling up and down my whole body making me want to hide but soon he stops and grabs my hands, I hiss when he pulls them in front of me, I hadn’t realized they had bruised , he gently rubs my hands, I am sorry I didn’t mean to hurt you he says, Ethan go get the doctor now he turns to me and leads me to a seat, I am taken back by his behavior, one minute his chasing me the next his taking care of me, it’s okay I tell him, it doesn’t hurt that bad, it’s not okay, I hurt you I never meant to hurt you and I will never hurt you again I promise I was just trying to make you stay he says

A few minutes later Ethan comes back with the doctor, she makes her way over to me, let me take a look, Kaden moves away, does it hurt she asks, not too much I tell her, okay they don’t seem to be sprained or broken so I will apply this ointment and give you medication for the pain, you must take them every day until your hands are healed she tells me, and I nod my head

Just than a lady walks in Kaden, as you requested, after all the assignments and the review of the tests by the council it seems that they agreed with your request, so you get the girl and the baby that was brought in the woman says, Kaden nods his head and thanks her, with that the woman exits.

All done the doctor says, she turns to Kaden I suggest you be careful with her, she is not like us.

I know I will make sure nothing happens to her Kaden says, he turns to me come we must leave now, I stand up still not sure what’s going on I just hope that they do not take me back, I follow them out the train, they lead me to what looks like a car it is the first time I am seeing one in real life before it was just in books mother and father had

Ethan opens the door for me and suggests I get in, I slowly climb In and then he closes the door, I can see that he and Kaden are having a conversation but I cannot hear what they are saying but it is making Kaden frown , soon they both get into the car, they both remain silent, Kaden starts the car and we take off, I hope that he is not taking me back, I turn and look at my surroundings this place is truly beautiful, even though it is almost dark outside it look so full of life and not barren like my home I wish my family could see this, we reach the edge of the wall and I can’t help the fear that builds up inside of me he is truly taking me back, both Ethan and Kaden jump out and go towards the security maybe I can run i try to open the door but it would not open I move to the other side and still it would not, when I turn back to the other door Kaden is standing there, he looks very angry, he opens the door and jumps in going somewhere he asks I back away and shake my head, didn’t look that way he comments, I , please don’t take me back I will do anything I tell him, a frown appears again on his forehead, he turns back to me you think I am taking you back, I am never letting you go, you coming home with me and you staying there he says, I have so many emotions running through me, relief at least my family can keep the money and they will survive, but I am also worried he said he is never letting me go but we will see about that, someday I will return to my family, for today I will let him believe that he can keep me here
