Chapter Eight

Jasmine's Pov:

The next day i got ready for school hoping that it will distract my mind from thinking about last night, but nothing helped.

"Jasmine come down for breakfast." Mum called me. I gathered my things feeling depressed and went downstairs.

"Good morning." I greeted sitting down next to Jason. "Good morning to you too grumpy." Jason said confused by my behavior.

Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed." Dad joked. "Try didn't sleep at all." I said quietly. Everyone's smile dropped and worry filled their faces. "What's wrong honey? Having trouble sleeping again." Mum asked with pity and worry in her eyes. I looked at her for a while. "Who is Aurora and why does she look like little me so much." I asked suddenly, taking both my parents off guard.

They both went quiet, then dad spoke." Jasmine let's not talk about that now, maybe your dreams are playing tricks on you." Dad answered obviously hiding something. I look to both my parents before forcing a smile and nodding my head. I knew they were avoiding my question but i dropped it for now. "Okay." I said.

"Jason let's go i don't wanna be late." I stand up picking my hand bag and walking out the door to Jason's car.

The ride to college was very quiet, with Jason occasionally glancing my way, wanting to say something but deciding against it. I soon got lost in my thoughts. I didn't feel like talking to anyone.

We got to college and i get out of the car not even bothering to say bye to Jason. I walk towards my department building and to my class.

When i got to class the professor was not yet there. I go into the classroom and sit all the way at the back. "Hey someone said, snapping me out of my daze. "Hey." i replied looking up to see the elf boy from the day before.

"Why are you sitting all the way here. He asked confused. I fake a smile. "Nothing just didn't feel like sitting at front. I lied. "You mind if i sit next to you." He offered. "Of course not, go ahead." I said pointing to the sit next to me. He thanked me before sitting down.

Elves are known to be peaceful and polite creatures but they can also be tricky, so it's wise not to trust them completely. I move my bag and laptop that i left on the sit next to me to give the elf some space before smiling at him and gesturing him to sit, which he did.

Jasmine are you really okay. It looks like something is bothering. The elf says. Am fine. I say faking another smile. He snorted. "You are such a terrible liar you know. He smiles turning to face the front. I was about to reply him. "Good morning guys. I hope you all had a great night." Damien walks into the room with so much charisma it could kill someone.

There were grunts and groans even girls shrieking all around the hall. I guess they were trying to answer him but it didn't sound like an answer at all.

Ugh, God he's so gorgeous i wish he was my soulmate. I know i deserve someone like him. The elf whose name i really don't remember said, making me laugh.I"I thought the goddess and gods decide who we deserve." I say smiling. "Yeah i know am just pointing out a fact, i mean you can stop a guy from hoping right." He said making me burst into silent laughter.

I quickly compose myself and focus on Damien's teaching.

Once class was over. I stand up from my seat and pick up my laptop. I was about to leave. "Miss Jasmine a word." I stopped abruptly, looking to my elf friend who i now remember his name as Dennis. We both gave each other a questioning look before dennis walked out, leaving me alone with my hot professor.

"Is something wrong Sir." I ask, confused on why he stopped me. "Please just Damien." He said reminding me. I nod. "Is anything wrong Damien." I say. "No not really, just wanted an update on what i asked the last time." He tells me, casually walking closer to me, for a minute my brain stopped functioning. All i could think about was the close proximity between us. I attempted to put some distance but my back hit a desk.

I look at him confused at first before i forced myself to focus. "Yeah right, i umm haven't gotten a response yet b-but when i do i will let you know." I say, trying silently to move away from him.

He nodded, and moved away. "Okay then i would be waiting." He said walking back to his desk. I move to leave. "Jasmine." He called my name. "Yes?" I turn to him. "Can i get your number." He ask, and my heart stop. He wants my number. "So i can call you to remind you." He say looking at me.

I look at him and it's like i feel a jolt of electricity pass through me but its just for second and it's gone. He averts his eyes from me to the books on his table. "Miss jasmine am waiting." He announces.

"Y-Y- Yes of course." I take his phone and put in my number before giving it back to him. I don't know why i can never say no to him. I quickly leave the office, before i say or do something inappropriate.

The minute i got out i took a deep breath and let it out. I didn't know how nervous i was, being in the same space as him until i got out but i also felt this feeling of loneliness spark within me, the minute i left his office. "Girl what was that about. Dennis asked rushing to my side. "Um, it's nothing. He just wanted to ask me some questions that's all." I lied giving Dennis a little smile.

He remained silent for a while before looking at me from head to toe. "Okay but be careful. Guys like that always want something darling." He says before hooking my hands with his and chattering about random stuffs.

We got to the parking lot to see my brother waiting for me. "Hey Julie." I wave to him. "Hey you, wats up."

He said putting his phone in his pocket. I skip towards him. Well its was mostly Dennis doing the skipping, but what could i do. He held on to my hand.

"You look happy." Julian says looking at me intently.

"Any reason why i shouldn't be happy." I ask julian. "Not specifically." He says. "Get into the car. He goes to enter the car before i stop him. "Hey wait, Julian meet Dennis. Dennis meet my brother Julian but you can call him Julie. I say making Julian roll his eyes. "Don't call me that." He tells Dennis seriously.

"Nice to meet you Dennis." Julian says before looking at me. "Now can you get into the car." He asks. I roll my eyes and sigh. I reluctantly hug Dennis goodbye before hopping into Julian's car.

For what its worth at least i made a friend.
