Chapter 7

285 Words
Adeline’s POV: I tried to move, but my body was in so much pain, like I exercised too much or fell down a hill. “Relax. You are safe” a voice spoke to me in my head. I’m going crazy! I opened my eyes, seriously a bigger struggle than I thought. With all the strength I could muster, I forced my eyes to flutter open. I looked around the hospital room. Where is everyone? Why am I in the hospital still? Usually my parents take me home by now, what going on? I tried to sit up, but my body ached so much. Tears prickled in my eyes as the pain radiated through my whole body. I clenched my teeth together, forcing myself to sit up still. I was almost there sitting up, when the door was slammed open and in walked a very angry woman. Her eyes bore into my face, a murderous expression that scared me sh*tless. She bore a striking resemblance to Makalia. “YOU! You are the pack weakling. My daughter is a cell because of you,” she ranted enraged. “It seems the stupidity doesn’t fall far from the tree,” I smirked. “You little b***h. How dare you!” She stalked forward, raising her hand to slap me. Her eyes changed colors from green to black, telling me she was fighting her wolf. I braced myself for the impact to my face. I was too weak to move. I guess I will be in more pain. Can’t be any worse than the pain I am already feeling. Just when I thought she was gonna hit me, a furious, deep growl shook the walls and the floor.
