His Special Mate

Chapter 16

ADELINE’S POV:

I covered myself with the blanket, wrapping it around my body like a towel, grasping the front tightly together so it didn’t fall and all my womanly parts stayed covered.

“Your wolf and you are gorgeous, Addy. Blessed by the goddess herself,” Maximus spoke first, breaking the silence. Lily smiling ear-to-ear as she stared at me and over at Maverick.

My cheeks flushed pink in embarrassment as everyone, especially how Aunt Lily, continued to stare at me.

I looked up as the gust of wind blew smacking me in the face. The scent of strong vanilla and pine, making Lala yip and howl in enjoy in my head. I made direct eye-contact with Maverick and my whole world stopped. My body froze where I stood, even if I wanted to move my limbs would not let me.

‘Mate, mate, mate!’ Lala barked, loudly.

‘No, no, no,’ I huffed back. ‘This is why he said I couldn’t leave when I turned eighteen. Wait, oh s**t, I am already eighteen now! This i***t knew I was his mate and he pretended not to know. f**k him!’

I saw his eyes fog over as he was talking to his wolf.

‘Please stay!’ I heard a gruff voice enter my mind.

The voice startled me at first, until I saw a smirk show up on Maverick’s face. Lala whimpered, annoyed with my stubbornness. I blocked her out, pushing her to the back of my mind. I wanted to deal with him, not let her dictate how I was going to react.

‘Please, my human made stupid choice not tell you, stay please. My name Titan, my lil’ spitfire,’ Titan flirted.

“I am only staying for your wolf. You are some type of mate. You’re a selfish asshat. How dare you not tell me. You.. you are so lucky your wolf is way better at talking than you,” I huffed.

“Addy, I am sorry for not telling you, there’s a law prohibiting from telling you till you’re eighteen. I could break the law, but now that you are eighteen I could tell you everything. It…” He explained, his voice holding all his sincerity.

“He’s not lying, Addy,” Kyle added in.

I growled and glared viciously at my brother. The action, shocking me at first but then I felt a power slowing radiating off my palms. I ignored the power and turned back to Maverick.

“You knew I wanted to leave after the party. YOU knew about US and you convinced me to stay. For what? For your personal gain. I am not a toy that you are play with. I am a human with feeling…” I continued to clench and unclench my fist.

“Addy, calm down, sweetie,” my mom’s voice broke through my ranting.

All the years of pain and guilt of thinking I was human, and teasing and taunting just bubbled up to the surface and was exploding out of my mouth all at once. There was no stopping my emotional coaster I was riding on.

“I have endured all the pain of being shamed and mistreated by every park member here because they thought I was human. You think I should stay because it’s my duty as Luna. I will be a shitty Luna. The only thing that protected me was the beta status and the self-defense classes. No one will want me as their Luna, just reject me. I don’t care if I am special. You will be better off without me,” I begged, at Maverick. His eyes sad and his face broke with a sorrow, far away and lost look. His eyes flickering with his wolf close to the surface.

“Addy, I will not reject you,” Maverick’s words lingering the sadness he was feeling, but firm in his tone telling me and everyone he was serious.

My heart feeling a stabbing pain from what I said about him rejecting him. My emotions were so heightened, I did not feel the power in my palms had wrapped completely around me, pushing everyone to the ground, kneeling.

The only person that was not fully affected by the power I was emitting was Maverick. I did not even notice my cheeks were wet from the emotional pain I was feeling. Maverick used his wolf speed and wrapped me in a bear hug, pulling me close to his chest. My body reacted instantly, making my body calm down, and the power I was emitting released everyone. I heard a collected gasping just as my body succumbed to the darkness while being held in Maverick’s arms.

MAVERICK”S POV:

I watched my beautiful flower, wrap her nude body with that blanket. I know I should have looked away, but she was stunning and I could not help myself.

My father complimented on her and her wolf and seeing Addy blush was making me feel jealous. I wish I could make her blush like that.

I was watching her every move. She must of caught my scent, because she froze, her whole body instantly froze in place. Her heart beating fast and hard. I could feel her anxiety through the little bond I had created with her already in the last couple of days. Titan had even talked to Niylah, Ni or Lala, but she preferred Lala. Titan had loved her so much and they rambled with each other non-stop. I swear they never slept. I had to block Titan out so I could sleep. I smirked to myself just thinking about how our counter-parts were so in love already.

‘She mad at you,’ Titan warned me.

‘For what I was following the law,’ I huffed.

I let her cuss me out, because clearly she had something’s to tell me. Then Kyle jumped into to agree with me and that only made her more angry. I felt the power radiating off her, a strong aura.

‘Do you feel that, the power coming from my sister, Maverick?’ Kyle mind-linked me.

‘Yes,’ I responded, simply, turning my focus back to my mate.

‘Lala no reach mate. Mate blocked her,’ Titan told me.

Addy had extraordinary power for someone so small. I am so proud to have a Luna like her by myself. She held so much power and she barely just found out about her wolf in less than a couple of seconds ago. No wonder she is feeling so emotional. My heart broke as she went through what the park put her through. She definitely did not deserve that. For the moment I found out she was my mate, I vowed to protect her from anyone that would harm or disrespect her in any way. She will be my Luna!

‘WHAT, REJECT HER! NO f*****g WAY THAT’S HAPPENING!’ Both Titan and my growl loudly.

Titan took over to tell her rejection was not happening. Before I could reassure her some more as immense aura surrounded her body and pulled everyone to their knees. I was able to fight it, but there was a bit of resistance.

I used my wolf speed, wrapping my arms around her, the close contact made Titan purr and I could feel the power dissipate and then Addy collapsed in my arms.

My heart thumping hard in my chest as I was afraid all the emotional stress had caused her.

I carried her bridal style into the hospital. A group of nurses running towards us with a gurney. I laid her down and watched the nurses wheel her away, as my mother ran off along side the gurney to stay with her goddaughter and soon-to-be daughter-in-law. I stayed with my father and the other family members, waiting for good news.
